About the Facility

Grace Counseling is a private drug rehab in Lewisville, Texas that provides outpatient recovery services to adolescent and adult men and women. This addiction treatment center offers an evidence-based intensive outpatient program for adolescents and adults, a partial hospitalization program for adolescents and adults, and gender-specific drug and alcohol rehab recovery services for men and women. Mental health services are also provided for those needing dual diagnosis treatment.

The rehab center’s comprehensive partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adolescents aged 12 to 18 offers individual, group, and family therapy in a community care environment. Those enrolled in this program receive counseling services eight hours a day, five days per week.

In the counseling sessions, both substance abuse issues and mental health concerns are addressed with individualized recovery plans based on the client’s needs. Other recovery services offered to those enrolled in the adolescent PHP include yoga, EMDR therapy, and nutritional therapy.

The partial hospitalization program for adults is similar to that offered to adolescents. Those enrolled should expect to join counseling sessions for an hour each day, five days per week. The PHP offered is highly structured and ideally suited to those who have already completed a residential or inpatient program but who feel they need more care. In addition, patients should expect routine one-on-one sessions with a licensed therapist, access to a supportive alumni community, and consistent group and family therapy.

Adolescents recovering from drug or alcohol addiction can join the intensive outpatient program (IOP) offered at Grace Counseling. This substance abuse recovery program includes individual, group, and family counseling and is a more structured and lengthy alternative to a traditional or general outpatient program (OP).

Adolescents enrolled in this IOP should expect staff monitoring, peer counseling, relapse prevention discussion, and a therapeutic environment. Additional therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and wellness and complementary therapies.

Adults requiring intensive recovery services can consider the intensive outpatient program offered at Grace Counseling. This program provides individualized treatment approaches in individual, group, and family counseling sessions held three to five hours weekly for two to three hours at a time. These sessions can last three to four months or longer, depending on patient needs.

The counseling sessions provided are carefully designed around evidence-based practices to treat substance abuse problems and co-occurring mental health issues. It is also important to note that the adult IOP utilizes the Matrix Model of treatment alongside supplemental treatment options like yoga therapy and nutritional counseling.

At Grace Counseling, men and women who want to receive gender-specific treatment for drug and alcohol abuse can enroll in the men’s or women’s rehab programs. These programs only treat adult men or women, and they offer trauma-informed care, peer support, fitness therapy, and family counseling alongside individual and group counseling.

Those interested in enrolling in any programs this addiction treatment center provides should speak with their insurance provider and the drug rehab center to determine coverage and applicable out-of-network benefits. However, this rehab center may accept major insurers like Cigna, Aetna, Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Kaiser Permanente, and TRICARE.

house-medical iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Clients are typically admitted to outpatient rehab once they have completed intensive inpatient care. Some clients who are exiting inpatient detox may also choose to transition directly into outpatient care. High-intensity outpatient programming, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) is widely available for clients in early recovery, those leaving detox, and those at an elevated relapse risk. Clients in outpatient care generally engage in robust addiction counseling and recovery education. Those in opioid and/or alcohol recovery may also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Couples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

Family Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Recreational Therapy

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.
