About Men’s & Women’s Center
LifeChangers’ Outreach West Virginia Men & Women’s Center is a free residential addiction treatment program in Beckley, West Virginia. Located in the peaceful Appalachian mountains, they provide a faith based alternative to traditional drug and alcohol rehab programs.
Where Recovery Meets Faith
Like many other addiction treatment programs, you’ll work on your spiritual, emotional, and physical health. What’s unique here is the focus on faith. You’ll spend time learning to embrace your faith and let it guide you through the tough stuff.
You’ll also be encouraged to be an active member. Attending worship services is a big part of things, and so is community outreach. Another unique feature of this program is that once you finish treatment, you may be offered a job in the ministry.
Addiction Treatment for Real Life
It’s not just about getting through the program, it’s about being ready to live a sober life. The counselors are there to help with individual and group sessions.
Peer support is a big deal here. You’ll have people around you who help you stay accountable. The counselors have all been where you are right now, so they understand the challenges you’re facing.
You’ll also work on relapse prevention strategies. They give you the tools to manage triggers and stay strong in your recovery long after you leave.
Building Life Skills
Life-skills workshops focus on real life issues like managing anger, practicing forgiveness, and improving relationships. Social skills are also a big part of the program because healthy connections with others are key to long-term recovery.
The workshops give you practical ways to handle challenges that come up every day. They also offer graduates an opportunity to attend college so you can get a head start on building work skills.
Learning Discipline and Respect Through Work
Their work program teaches you discipline, ethics, and respect for authority. You’ll put in the effort to develop responsibility and learn how to stay committed. What you learn in the work program will shape you into someone who values hard work.

Many need help or a voice that says, "I care about you". I do care about all of you & you can be reassured that God does too. The enemy comes to steal, kill & destroy. The youth are in his cross hairs. You're a target because you're a threat. You need to know how valuable you are. We all should do anything we can to help this organization. In response to the other comments, would you rather your loved one be either dead or homeless on the streets due to addiction? Can't comprehend anyone that is negative or has anything bad to say about a program that's saving lives. You should be grateful. I'm beyond thankful for this program. I hope in the future I will be able to help you even more. I will pray for all of you. You're loved! I hope God blesses all of you! Stay strong!

They are worthy people to say that they can change your life when you feel that you have no reason to live. It is a beautiful place full of passionate workers for their work. Maybe appointments take a long time

Levels of Care
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
Treatments
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
Drug addiction causes psychological and physical damage through repeated and uncontrollable use of substances. Drug rehab in West Virginia focuses on providing a full continuum of care, from detox to aftercare, and treatment can take place in outpatient or inpatient settings, based on your needs.
Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
Clinical Services
Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.
Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.
