I am going on my 16th day at Togus and I have to say that from the service I get from the medical staff on the floor to the service from the kitchen is nothing but excellent! The nurses and the aides go above and beyond their duties to make sure all my needs are met and any problems with my Healthcare are addressed right away! I just can't say enough to praise the dedication that all these people have and as much as I don't enjoy any stay in any hospital, I am glad I am here receiving the treatment I am getting, wouldn't recommend any other facility to be.

Seeing some of the reviews people have left here are a bit disheartening to me... I completely understand one person's perception of something can be unequivocally different from anothers. I understand that we are all struggling, and that always adds to the everyday challenges we face. We are also immersed in a pandemic that NONE of us asked for nor wanted, yet it was thrust upon us regardless. That has made scheduling very difficult(everywhere really) but especially in a facility such as this. So many are desperately struggling with the world around us, it is a collective worry that has invaded all of us. Society is uneasy, we are all struggling. Some assuredly more than others.. My own personal experience here has been nothing short of a true Blessing. I am struggling right now with many personal and work issues and undoubtedly needed to reach out for help. I put my pride aside, as well as the stigma so many of us bear with mental health issues, and was referred to Tri-County. They immediately set me up with not just a professional- but a TEAM of professionals who are ALL 100% looking out for me, my best interests and my own personal pursuit of happiness. They have gone above and beyond their 9 to 5 duties, even checking in with me on their personal time and weekends to be sure that I am happy, healthy and back to living life to its fullest potential.. The times we are in do not occur in a personal vacuum, this affects ALL of us. Including the professionals working here. They are people too. Yet, they set their own personal trepidations to the side in order to help others. To help us. To everyone here at Tri County Mental Health: Your work here does not go unnoticed, nor should it be discounted or overlooked. You are uplifting our community with a vital service. So many of us suffer quietly and alone with depression, substance abuse, anxiety, PTSD and a plethora of other struggles. Especially in the times we find ourlves in. If any of you ever by happenstance stumble across this review one day, I just want to personally say - thank you. You are appreciated.... A special personal recognition to Dr Paul Vincel, Tiffany and Shannon. THANK YOU for all of your help along this rocky path in my life.

I just must give a huge shoutout to Dr. Bennett who was the ONLY ER doctor for several hours at MidCoast Hospital yesterday afternoon into the late evening. Yesterday, the MidCoast waiting room looked like the MaineMed ER on a bad day… so if you know, you know. However, this doctor made EVERY patient feel seen and know they were important and that their emergency needs would absolutely be met. I feel like this dude was kinda a superhuman doctor because he DID see and treat everyone in what I would call, “record time” with the amount of people who needed care! I know some people were frustrated about the wait, but if you have to go to the ER, chances are you might have to wait a bit to get seen. Additionally, the evening Charge nurse and the evening CNA who were so incredibly kind to me, I want to THANK YOU with my whole heart! 🥹💗 Right before I left last night, I admit I got a little scared because a few symptoms came back right before discharge and it made me hesitant about if it was truly safe to go back home or not… Ultimately, the CNA who told me, “you got this! You’re stronger than you think you are. Remember that.” And the Charge nurse who was just a few feet away keeping and eye on me to make sure I felt safe and then being my cheerleader when it came to the, “walking” test again, THANK YOU! 🙌 It was discussed that I may have to return today if my symptoms come back or worsen (I’m praying that’s not the case and I don’t think it will be) If you know me and how complicated my health is, you know I do not normally post about my “positive” experiences on here, but I think this is important. I used to feel…unsafe, dismissed, unseen and not taken seriously at this hospital in the past. However, now I can say with confidence that I DO feel safe if I ever do need to return and the level of care, compassion, empathy and the continuity of patient care has gone up exponentially. Thank you, MidCoast. The kindness and equality for myself and EVERY patient that I witnessed (in my eyes) has not gone unnoticed. ✨
