Auburn, ME | Health Affiliates Maine is an addiction treatment facility. They'll also tackle co-occurring mental and behavioral health issues. Their multifaceted team provides compassionate care for voluntary and court-ordered adults. You can sign up for intensive (IOP) and general outpatient treatment (OP) and specialized programs to meet you where you are in | Programs Payment Options | I've been working with these guys for six years. I have had a total of three case managers during that time (I was only with the first one for about a month before she had to take time off for some reason, they put me with #2 and I adored her and opted not to go back to #1 when she came back). Both times my case manager put referrals in for counseling for me, I was situated with a counselor in less than a month!
I am a person who requires a TON of support, for example: I have very bad PTSD, including severe medical trauma, but I am also physically disabled and trying to navigate getting that figured out, which means I have to go to a lot of medical appointments but my PTSD makes it very hard. Both my previous CM and my new one are very willing to accompany me to appointments to make sure my PTSD symptoms don't interfere with my treatment and so that I can remember what was talked about. I also require support in nearly every other aspect of my life, and I have always been pleased with my CMs abilities to help
When CM#2 had an emergency that took them out of work, Health Affiliates had me with a new case manager in less than a week.
I also really like that I can view all of my progress notes and other documents from home using the web portal.
All of the providers I have worked with (CM and counseling) have been open minded and respectful of my "alternative" faith, and of my sexuality.

I think this organization is wonderful. I've been seeing a counselor without having to travel anywhere, and we do weekly video visits. She referred a case manager for me, and I haven't met her yet, but I feel like she is going to be the perfect fit for me and help me achieve some goals. I would highly recommend Healthcare Affiliates of Maine to anybody in need of their services. Chef's kiss 🤌

I don't know much about this organization as a whole, but they sent me one case worker who was not a good fit for me, and then asked me a lot of questions as to what kind of person I was looking for, then sent me the most wonderful, competent, knowledgeable person I could ever hope to find.

Seeing some of the reviews people have left here are a bit disheartening to me... I completely understand one person's perception of something can be unequivocally different from anothers. I understand that we are all struggling, and that always adds to the everyday challenges we face. We are also immersed in a pandemic that NONE of us asked for nor wanted, yet it was thrust upon us regardless. That has made scheduling very difficult(everywhere really) but especially in a facility such as this. So many are desperately struggling with the world around us, it is a collective worry that has invaded all of us. Society is uneasy, we are all struggling. Some assuredly more than others..
My own personal experience here has been nothing short of a true Blessing. I am struggling right now with many personal and work issues and undoubtedly needed to reach out for help.
I put my pride aside, as well as the stigma so many of us bear with mental health issues, and was referred to Tri-County. They immediately set me up with not just a professional- but a TEAM of professionals who are ALL 100% looking out for me, my best interests and my own personal pursuit of happiness. They have gone above and beyond their 9 to 5 duties, even checking in with me on their personal time and weekends to be sure that I am happy, healthy and back to living life to its fullest potential.. The times we are in do not occur in a personal vacuum, this affects ALL of us. Including the professionals working here. They are people too. Yet, they set their own personal trepidations to the side in order to help others. To help us.
To everyone here at Tri County Mental Health: Your work here does not go unnoticed, nor should it be discounted or overlooked. You are uplifting our community with a vital service. So many of us suffer quietly and alone with depression, substance abuse, anxiety, PTSD and a plethora of other struggles. Especially in the times we find ourlves in. If any of you ever by happenstance stumble across this review one day, I just want to personally say - thank you. You are appreciated....
A special personal recognition to Dr Paul Vincel, Tiffany and Shannon. THANK YOU for all of your help along this rocky path in my life.

We were on a roadtrip vacation from KC,MO. Honestly, it was the best emergency medical encounter I've ever had, and I had quite the emergency so that's really saying something. Everybody was so pleasant, courteous, and really made my feel seen as a fellow person and not just another number to get back out of the door. I'm not sure if this is for the ER visit or the urology visit but this goes for both experiences. My favorite part was how everybody got on the same wavelength as I use comedy to get me through high stress situations (trauma response for the win) and everyone was also super comedic while also being very professional. Beautiful state, great people, superb medical staff. Shoutout to everyone I met along the way: front desk/check-in, ER nurse, ER doctor, ultrasound tech (remember it's Kansas City Joe's you need to try when you visit), urology check-in, urology nurses, and Dr Chad. Auburn is the 168th most expensive city nationwide for addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $56532. This is comparable to the average cost of $56108 for addiction treatment in Maine and comparable to the national average cost for drug rehab of $57,193.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Auburn vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of medical detox, inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab, and medication assisted treatment. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below. There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Auburn. Most rehab treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Auburn that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here's the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment near Auburn.
Blue Cross Blue Shield is the most widely-accepted insurance for drug rehabs in Auburn, with 1 treatment centers in the city accepting their insurance. Elevance Health is the 2nd most popular with 1 treatment centers accepting it followed by Aetna in 3rd accepted by 6 drug rehabs.
Auburn has the 17th highest rate of drug use nationwide among nearly 400 cities surveyed. This number reflects the combined use of cocaine, heroin, meth, and marijuana, displayed individually below. The percent shown for each drug represents the number of residents in Androscoggin county that have reported ever using the following drugs, so these numbers should not be interpreted as direct evidence of current drug use in Auburn or Androscoggin county as a whole.
In 2023, Auburn had the 314th highest number narcotics violations out of 330 cities nationwide, with a total of 43 reported drug-related incidents that year. This includes cases of public intoxication, drug arrests, narcotics found during house calls and traffic stops, and any other drug-related crime.
Keep in mind these numbers are dependent on accurate record keeping and reporting laws by local police and sheriffs, and may not fully reflect all drug related crime in Auburn. All values are per 100,000 population.
