I've been working with these guys for six years. I have had a total of three case managers during that time (I was only with the first one for about a month before she had to take time off for some reason, they put me with #2 and I adored her and opted not to go back to #1 when she came back). Both times my case manager put referrals in for counseling for me, I was situated with a counselor in less than a month! I am a person who requires a TON of support, for example: I have very bad PTSD, including severe medical trauma, but I am also physically disabled and trying to navigate getting that figured out, which means I have to go to a lot of medical appointments but my PTSD makes it very hard. Both my previous CM and my new one are very willing to accompany me to appointments to make sure my PTSD symptoms don't interfere with my treatment and so that I can remember what was talked about. I also require support in nearly every other aspect of my life, and I have always been pleased with my CMs abilities to help When CM#2 had an emergency that took them out of work, Health Affiliates had me with a new case manager in less than a week. I also really like that I can view all of my progress notes and other documents from home using the web portal. All of the providers I have worked with (CM and counseling) have been open minded and respectful of my "alternative" faith, and of my sexuality.

I think this organization is wonderful. I've been seeing a counselor without having to travel anywhere, and we do weekly video visits. She referred a case manager for me, and I haven't met her yet, but I feel like she is going to be the perfect fit for me and help me achieve some goals. I would highly recommend Healthcare Affiliates of Maine to anybody in need of their services. Chef's kiss 🤌

I don't know much about this organization as a whole, but they sent me one case worker who was not a good fit for me, and then asked me a lot of questions as to what kind of person I was looking for, then sent me the most wonderful, competent, knowledgeable person I could ever hope to find.

Seeing some of the reviews people have left here are a bit disheartening to me... I completely understand one person's perception of something can be unequivocally different from anothers. I understand that we are all struggling, and that always adds to the everyday challenges we face. We are also immersed in a pandemic that NONE of us asked for nor wanted, yet it was thrust upon us regardless. That has made scheduling very difficult(everywhere really) but especially in a facility such as this. So many are desperately struggling with the world around us, it is a collective worry that has invaded all of us. Society is uneasy, we are all struggling. Some assuredly more than others.. My own personal experience here has been nothing short of a true Blessing. I am struggling right now with many personal and work issues and undoubtedly needed to reach out for help. I put my pride aside, as well as the stigma so many of us bear with mental health issues, and was referred to Tri-County. They immediately set me up with not just a professional- but a TEAM of professionals who are ALL 100% looking out for me, my best interests and my own personal pursuit of happiness. They have gone above and beyond their 9 to 5 duties, even checking in with me on their personal time and weekends to be sure that I am happy, healthy and back to living life to its fullest potential.. The times we are in do not occur in a personal vacuum, this affects ALL of us. Including the professionals working here. They are people too. Yet, they set their own personal trepidations to the side in order to help others. To help us. To everyone here at Tri County Mental Health: Your work here does not go unnoticed, nor should it be discounted or overlooked. You are uplifting our community with a vital service. So many of us suffer quietly and alone with depression, substance abuse, anxiety, PTSD and a plethora of other struggles. Especially in the times we find ourlves in. If any of you ever by happenstance stumble across this review one day, I just want to personally say - thank you. You are appreciated.... A special personal recognition to Dr Paul Vincel, Tiffany and Shannon. THANK YOU for all of your help along this rocky path in my life.

Being with caring professionals & other individuals who know &/or share in your same problems can be (& is for me) an important part of recovery! Being honest with yourself & others concerning your addiction is a road to recovery. Everyone can benefit from the services offered by the Addiction Resource Center. The incredible staff, the mutual respect & understanding of others & any necessary medications &/or programs which can be so beneficial to anyone interested in making the decision to become sober make their program an important option to consider. The hardest part is making that first decision to walk thru their doors. After that....the experience can be what saves your life!

I just must give a huge shoutout to Dr. Bennett who was the ONLY ER doctor for several hours at MidCoast Hospital yesterday afternoon into the late evening. Yesterday, the MidCoast waiting room looked like the MaineMed ER on a bad day… so if you know, you know. However, this doctor made EVERY patient feel seen and know they were important and that their emergency needs would absolutely be met. I feel like this dude was kinda a superhuman doctor because he DID see and treat everyone in what I would call, “record time” with the amount of people who needed care! I know some people were frustrated about the wait, but if you have to go to the ER, chances are you might have to wait a bit to get seen. Additionally, the evening Charge nurse and the evening CNA who were so incredibly kind to me, I want to THANK YOU with my whole heart! 🥹💗 Right before I left last night, I admit I got a little scared because a few symptoms came back right before discharge and it made me hesitant about if it was truly safe to go back home or not… Ultimately, the CNA who told me, “you got this! You’re stronger than you think you are. Remember that.” And the Charge nurse who was just a few feet away keeping and eye on me to make sure I felt safe and then being my cheerleader when it came to the, “walking” test again, THANK YOU! 🙌 It was discussed that I may have to return today if my symptoms come back or worsen (I’m praying that’s not the case and I don’t think it will be) If you know me and how complicated my health is, you know I do not normally post about my “positive” experiences on here, but I think this is important. I used to feel…unsafe, dismissed, unseen and not taken seriously at this hospital in the past. However, now I can say with confidence that I DO feel safe if I ever do need to return and the level of care, compassion, empathy and the continuity of patient care has gone up exponentially. Thank you, MidCoast. The kindness and equality for myself and EVERY patient that I witnessed (in my eyes) has not gone unnoticed. ✨

Sweetser is amazing!! I would highly recommend it. In the past I’ve used all that they had to offer. Now I’ve graduated to having just a case worker, Vanessa. She is so great and helps me so much. Then there’s my wonderful Peer counselor, John. He’s just awesome. He helps in so many ways it would take me all day to tell you about it. But take my word, he’s the best. And last but definitely not least, the newest addition to my team, Cheryl. She’s my Psychiatric nurse. Her and her right hand Ashley are fantastic!! They have helped me so much. All of them have. If you’re looking for a place to help you with your mental health no matter what your circumstances are. I’m sure Sweetser can help. And if by some chance they can’t help. They will find someone for you who can. They sincerely care from what I’ve experienced. We could all use a little mental health tweeking if we’re honest and Sweetser is the place to go. Thank you so so very much to everyone at Sweetser who has helped me or touched me. September 15, 2025: I’m still with Sweetser, and their people still go above and beyond. Two people in particular: John Hirth and Vanessa, I apologize I don’t remember last names well or first names for that matter…lol I don’t know what I would do without John. I look forward to his visits all week (he sees me Friday morning). And if I’m struggling and need some emotional support or just someone to talk too. He’ll get to me as soon as he can. And Vanessa’s visit’s, I never want them to end. We have such an easy time talking together. I feel very comfortable with both Vanessa and John and they are both the most empathetic people on the planet!!! My next update will be about the wonderful duo Cheryl and Ashley ت And just a footnote; if Sweetser is smart, and I know they are. They will hold on to these 4 rare people! Because you rarely (for lack of a better term) find 1 person in one place with these amazing qualities! And Sweetser has John, Vanessa, Cheryl and Ashley! I’d say that they’re pretty blessed. But not as blessed as I am to have Sweetser and they’re team on my side☻. ~Bonnie Dennett PTL✞ Topsham, ME
