About Psychological Addiction Services

Psychological Addiction Services is located on East Washington Avenue in Madison, Wisconsin. They provide addiction treatment for those struggling with co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorder.

They are located in a multi-tenant office building with on site parking for you and your family.

Nearby are several natural landmarks, including Worthington Park, McCormick Community Garden and Washington Manor Park. Between treatment appointments, taking a walk in nature is a great way to get exercise and also find time for reflection.

MAT Treatment for Opioids

In addition to individual and group counseling services, they offer outpatient methadone and Suboxone treatment for those with opioid use disorder.  MAT will assist you in managing your cravings and help to support your long term recovery. It will also allow you to continue with your commitments at work, school and with family obligations.

Mobile Clinics in Baraboo and Portage

I think it’s helpful to know that they also offer mobile clinics for treatment in both Baraboo and Portage. This offers accessible treatment if transportation to and from their Madison location is a challenge. These services are offered seven days a week at the Portage location and Monday through Friday at Baraboo.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Clients who are admitted to an outpatient rehab may be stepping down from intensive inpatient care or may be transitioning directly from a detox facility. Outpatient treatment enables clients to remain in or return to their home, workplace, and community without compromising access to care. Clients engage in addiction counseling and recovery education and may also receive evidence-based complementary therapies, such as yoga, acupuncture, and massage. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is commonly available for clients in alcohol and/or opioid recovery.

Clinical Services

Individual therapy offers you a tailored approach to treat drug addiction. This focuses on your unique needs and offers you personalized support outside of a group setting. You begin to understand what triggers your addictive behavior and develop coping skills that can support your recovery.

Conflict resolution and stress are common triggers for addictive behavior. Within a group therapy setting, participants learn to practice essential skills to improve relationships, manage conflict, and reduce stress. Each of these is a crucial factor in maintaining recovery.

This is a great place. I have had my fair share of ups and downs. This clinic should have thrown me out, due to me being rude. BUT THEY DIDNT. They genuinely care about you and your physical and mental health. Bojan, Ashley, Isabella, Brie, and Michelle, just to name a few, are great people. Thank you all for the respect and the quality care I receive at PAS! I recommend this place to anyone who is in a battle with addiction. Much love PAS Shawn Johnson

Response from the owner
