About Queens Village Committee for Mental Health for J-CAP

Queens Village Committee for Mental Health for J-CAP is an addiction and mental health treatment center dedicated to serving adults and adolescents in and around Jamaica, New York. J-CAP stands for Jamaica Community Adolescents Program, which was originally the focus of the center when it was established in 1968. As the years went on, the facility expanded to provide treatment and healthcare services to adults.

This facility focuses on adult and child wellness by providing integrated care services that include outpatient mental health and substance use services. The facility’s residential substance use treatment program best serves adults who need intensive care, medication assisted treatment (MAT), housing assistance, recovery coaching, and case management.

The goal of the facility is to stabilize the individual, rehabilitate them through education and onsite care, and aiding with reintegration to maintain recovery.

Culturally Competent Care and Trauma Informed Programs

Queens Village Committee for Mental Health for J-CAP offers culturally competent care, including bilingual services that cover intensive inpatient substance use treatment, addiction counseling, MAT, and mental health services. Acacia Networks is one of the biggest Hispanic led nonprofits in the state.

The facility and staff members also offer trauma informed programs that are designed to help the person cope.

One great thing about ‘em is that they currently accept individuals who are going through federal, state, or local parole or probation. Individuals can also utilize the facility’s services as an alternative to incarceration or post-incarceration placement.

Addiction Treatment Rooted in the Heart of Queens

This facility is located right in the heart of Queens in the South Jamaica area. The facility isn’t too far from Baisley Pond Park and Roy Wilkins Park. It’s also situated a short drive away from the JFK International Airport.
