Im gonna start from the begining, my arrival. One of the first people I came in contact with was Josh and I'll never forget just one small acts of kindness by giving me his vape out of his pocket small but meaningful to me because I had very little and it was unusual to me to have a man be nice to me. Taliah, Our everyday conversations helped me to start believing I was a person, a strong woman slowly, but you cared about me and I needed that in that moment. Jonna my therapist, at first I thought to myself wow she is young and there is no way she is ever gonna get me and here we go again someone else to look at me like I'm crazy. But she didn't, she listened without judgement and for the first time I was able to tell her things I never told anyone. She made me feel heard. Stacy you made me feel beautiful again inside and out by small acts of kindness. Trish thank you for believing in me from the first day, you believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. Penny your groups were more like class to me. You thought me so much about myself things that helped me learn who I am and why I am the way I am. Thank you! Nikki you always seemed to see something in me that I didn't see in myself. Our small talks to and from places in the van just know that you helped me see that I was capable of anything. Jaz you are kind hearted and caring and would do anything to help someone even if you stayed late. Im gonna wrap it up now, if I didn't mention you i8m sorry. I just want to say Thank You to everyone, it took every talk every moment and every encounter with everyone to change my life. Thank you for being there for me, you guys were the family that I never had. They say it takes a village to raise a child. And I was a shell of a person when I got there. Real Recovery can be an absolute blessing to anybody who TRULY WANTS to get and stay sober. I would not have the sense of gratitude in my life today if it was not for real recovery.
