SBHS has a staff member on site that will aide clients in learning more about HIV as well as other common diseases that are easily transmissible due to high risk choices, to include injection drug use. All prospective clients are allowed to complete an initial screening to determine risk, and then provided with an opportunity for FREE testing for HIV, as well as education and materials to increase awareness.

Outpatient

Outpatient rehabs provide flexibility and accommodation for clients who prefer to remain in their homes and workplaces while in recovery. They also facilitate clients’ sustained sobriety for clients stepping down from intensive inpatient care. Clients may engage in day, evening, night, or weekend treatment sessions, which typically involve addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Many outpatient facilities also offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) and evidence-based holistic therapies, such as yoga and massage.

Intensive Outpatient

Clients undergoing treatment in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) remain in or return to their homes following detox and/or inpatient rehab. The purpose of the Psychosocial Rehabilitative Services (Life Skills) face-to-face service is to assist the client in the restoration or strengthening of skills needed to promote and sustain independence and stability in their living, learning, social and work environments.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.
