The Recovery Academy was our answer! Our family member was struggling with addiction and mental health issues. He was finally ready for help and was willing to accept the treatment plan at RA. I can’t begin to tell you how well this program worked for our family member! From the moment we met with Aaron, we felt that it was the right place for treatment and recovery. Everything was individualized for each young man. The entire team at RA is amazing! The therapists are so caring and helpful, and we enjoyed our family sessions each week and learned so much from them as well. Aaron was only a phone call or a text away at all times. RA does not put a time line for recovery as many places do. We all progress at different rates which is evident at RA. Consider giving this program a chance! You won’t be sorry. It has changed our lives. Our family member stayed at RA almost a year. He was able to complete his last 3 classes for a Finance degree and also completed an internship in Saint Paul. The team was so supportive and helpful with this endeavor as well. While we hope our family member is never in need of these services again, it’s nice to know that we have a team of people at RA that would be willing to help us again. Thank you, Aaron, Seth, Jordan, and Patrick. We are thankful for all of you each day. Thanks also to Drew for sending us to you.

Recovery Academy was so helpful with helping a family member on their journey towards a sober life. They have so many options for treatment tailored to each individual client. They can be a great option for transitional or long term care. They are extremely professional, and have helped our family immensely.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Clients typically enter inpatient rehab after they complete detox. Inpatient care is also designed for clients who are experiencing a crisis and are at an increased risk of relapse. Clients reside at the treatment center for the duration of their program. Clients engage in intensive addiction counseling, often using CBT, DBT, RBT, motivational interviewing or other proven modalities. Many inpatient rehabs offer recovery-focused life skills training. Evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation and yoga, may be included.

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) can provide supportive and structured care to those who don't require 24/7 supervision. It can be used as a "step-down" option after you're released from the hospital or a residential program. PHP treatment integrates evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). The duration of a partial hospital program is tailored to meet your specific needs and goals but averages 90 days.

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) provide one of the highest levels of care available in an outpatient setting and are designed for clients who require robust support. Many intensive outpatient rehabs offer personalized treatment plans and a variety of services, including individual, group, and family counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, holistic therapies, and medication assisted treatment (MAT). Clients typically receive between nine and 20 hours of care weekly.

Outpatient rehabs typically provide a full continuum of care both for clients in early recovery and for those who are well advanced in their recovery journey. Their levels of care typically include partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Many outpatient facilities offer evening, night, and weekend services, including addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training, to accommodate clients' work and family schedules.

Residents must abstain from substance use, participate in support meetings and chores, abide by a set curfew, respect their housemates, and home staff, and agree to random drug tests. As long as they abide by the halfway house rules, residents are welcome to live in the home as long as they wish. Most stay at least 90 days.

Better than most sober living but it’s definitely not really “treatment” as much as they might like to say it is. And it’s quality is less impressive considering the high cost. Staff members cycle in and out on all levels of management, resulting in hiring and promoting of under qualified staff fairly frequently. Expect Aaron and anyone else to try to sell you their “vision” of what RA is but don’t be surprised with no follow through or complete inconsistency across the whole program. And definitely don’t expect to have these inconsistencies communicated to you. You’ll just have to figure it out on your own, because they’re too mismanaged to keep you in the loop. Especially when you have an arrogant know-it-all running the place (Aaron), don’t expect humility in behavior. Their website and claims about the program schedule is completely inaccurate or is at least incredibly inconsistent. RA is not a bad place but they also represent themselves as being much more than they are and the fake salesman BS from Aaron will get old quick. If Aaron ever leaves, it might be worth considering. But I wouldn’t recommend it while Aaron is involved and mismanaging everything. This is an honest review and not a disgruntled customer. If Aaron leaves with no change, I’d say three stars. If Aaron leaves and better leadership takes over, I’d raise it more.
