About U Turn For Christ

U-Turn For Christ is a two-month minimum residential ministry of restoration for men struggling with the sin of addiction. U-Turn For Christ is located in Pahrump, Nevada.

At U-Turn for Christ they believe Jesus is the only way to true freedom from the sin of addiction. Their program is based entirely on the Word of God. Christian discipleship is at the center of everything they do.

Phase 1 is a two-month phase of the program with a highly restricted and monitored schedule. The resident must complete foundational courses of personal study, attend daily instructional studies and attend regular church services. Studies will address issues that lead to addictions, destructive behavior, wrong decision making, and much more.

Phase 2 is four months of the residential stay, where the resident now becomes a serious Bible student, required to attend special study classes as well as the daily instructional studies and church services. Work projects for Phase Two residents may be outside of the residence and more community focused, emphasizing the serving of others. This phase is still very restrictive and structured.

Praise the Lord! Thank you Jesus for U Turn for Christ in Pahrump, NV. I arrived at this discipleship program a completely broken and desperate individual. I was a horrible husband, a manipulative son, and a wicked neighbor. Fortunately the Son of Man had other plans for me. He said, Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. (Mark 2:17) And to say I was sick was a vast understatement. I was one injection of fentanyl away from death. I had no intentions whatsoever of changing. I only attended U Turn to placate my family and the law. I had several warrants out for my arrest and a bounty hunter after me, yet the Lord used Pastor John and his patience plus persistence to reach me. When I finally submitted to his authority and actually read the word I was completely and radically transformed instantaneously from a son of satan into an adopted son of the most high God. I have been sober over 3 years now and my entire life is dedicated towards shining as a light pointing towards Christ and the work He did on the cross (Ephesians 5:8). I teach children s ministry at Calvary Chapel in Carson Valley with my amazing wife Ana who also happened to be my first convert . The Lord answered our heart s desire when he gave us the most beautiful son ever who just turned one year old named Titus. Of course I owe all my gratitude towards the Father for drawing me near, the Son for dying for me and receiving me into His kingdom, and the Holy Spirit for transforming me into a new creation as well as sanctifying me. Pastor John and U Turn played an instrumental role within my regeneration and I will forever be grateful to everyone there. I had been to over 20 programs in my life before U Turn and attempted to beat my addiction via every worldly solution imaginable, yet now as I look back it was all rubbish until I had met Christ. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who wants eternal joy and is fed up with their addiction running their life. Until then may God bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you! (Numbers 6:24-26).

I came into the program April 2022, with the wrong motive. Meaning trying to impress my wife. Took a long time to realize that to change I needed to do it for me. We all have our own personal walk with our Lord and Savior.I was there 15 months, amd yes it's a 8 month program. I was a late Bloomer. The first phase is hard, doing jobs in the community, and not seeing the rewards. But trust me they are waiting for you. I've had to dig a five by five hole. It took a lot to be disciplined. Thanks to me I made it easier. Sorry Pastor for the grey hairs.I would like to address the negative comments about the digging holes in112 temperature, and being left off at gas stations.Phase one men don't dig till after 9pm and Pahrump is not 112 at nightSecondly phase 2 men can dig at any time, for any duration as long as it's done in 3 days, exceptions are made.In regards to dropping men off at gas station, a call is made to inform friend or family, of situation. Men who walk off property are mostly welcome back, the punishment is digging a hole.Hence in life we have a choice. I recommend this program. It's a working ranch, and yes they feed you good. They don't call it the u turn40 for a reason for a reason. Thanks to Pastor John, and his wife Maryanne for putting up with me for 15 monthsMen have you gotten to that point, and you're telling yourself I got this, that's when you need help. God is waiting for you with open arms

This program gave me hope when I had no hope in my life. Uturn for Christ teaches us struggling with addictions how to be disciplined Men of God. The Lord used this program to restore my life, family, and Pastor John and Mary Ann were with me every step of the way. No one ever said it would be easy, but Gods grace is enough! Of course this program has rules and consequences of bad decisions. Those are life lessons we men need when we come to Uturn! Also the free will to leave anytime, you must be willing to let God change you from the INSIDE/OUT. My freedom from addictions has come from Jesus Christ through this ministry. I completed this program in 2016-17 and have become the man of God I was created to be. God has blessed more than I deserve as I serve my wife, family, church and community all for the Glory of God. If you have a loved one who needs help, this program will recieve them with open arms and a heart to want to see them succeed. I am a living testimony to that! God bless

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you enter drug rehab in Nevada, you receive professional assistance to remove drugs from your body and cease your body's need for the substance. You learn coping strategies and receive support to prevent relapse and enjoy long-term sobriety.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

I came to U-turn in Pahrump back in 2023 broken, addicted and lost. Hand in hand Pastor John helped me day by day battle the daily routine of what it is to fight addiction. This program is geared through fellowship of men truly trying to better their lives. I’m very thankful to have gone through the program.

i have been with this program for many years, aside from my life as a career alcoholic. yet, i have been able to recede from such actions in my life. to say the LORD is working in my life, would be an understatement. I am able to understand the world now, through my own God given eyes, open up to the world and spread joy and love. It isn't about the wrong doing in life which we are judge but the path which we are on. UTURN as a whole has given me a greater path, a better way, and i thank them for all their hardworking.

Through the first and second phases of the U-Turn for Christ program, I’ve learned to study God’s Word as if my life depends on it—because it truly does. I’ve learned to submit to authority, to allow myself to be discipled, and most importantly, to surrender my life fully to Jesus Christ. That surrender has completely changed my life. Since then, I’ve experienced firsthand that God is a God of restoration. Joel 2:25 says, “I will restore to you the years that the locusts have eaten.” Not only has He brought me out of the pit, but He has also restored my relationships with my family. The hurt, distrust, and distance that once existed have been replaced by love, trust, and closeness. God has also placed me in his incredible spiritual family—a family of believers who encourage me, challenge me, and walk alongside me in this journey. And most importantly, He has restored my love for Him. What was once broken and cold has been renewed with a fire and passion for the Lord that I never thought possible. His restoration has touched every corner of my life, and I am proof that nothing is beyond His reach.

In 2016 God used this ministry to change my life entirely. I was dead inside and on my way to serve a long prison sentence. God used pastor John and is wife Maryanne to help transform my life. They taught me how to be a Godly man and husband. I don’t know where I would be today without them.

I graduated U-Turn in 2017. I had been addicted to morphine and booze for 25 yrs. I had been taught that an addict is what I was and that I had an incurable disease. I learned the truth in U-TURN. I was not an addict but a sinner. I had a sin problem, not an incurable disease that became my excuse to be high. Pastor John Jeminez pointed me to the bible. I live my life today in 2025 trusting Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as the Savior of the world especially for those who believe.
