About Waterford Counseling

Waterford Counseling is located on Preston Road in Plano, Texas. They provide behavioral health services to treat and address co-occurring mental health issues and substance abuse disorder. They are located in a multi-tenant office complex, with onsite parking for you and your loved ones.

Nearby, you can access local businesses, hotels, restaurants and retail stores. They are also accessible to Highway 289 and Sam Rayburn Tollway. You can also access local natural landmarks nearby including Bill Allen Memorial Park, Arbor Hills Nature Preserve and Grand Park.

Step-Down PHP For Adolescents

They offer step-down care for adolescents experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder and are in need of intervention. Their PHP program provides daily counseling sessions and evaluations for drug and alcohol dependency.

They treat children struggling with depression, anxiety and addiction. This program is ideal for children who have already participated in a residential program and are looking to continue their treatment at the next level.

In addition to individual counseling, they offer group therapy so that children can work through their struggle in a peer setting. Their PHP program meets five days a week and requires four hours a day of treatment.

Therapeutic Day Treatment Program

It also includes a therapeutic day treatment program, which provides adolescents with education on resolving real-life problems to prepare them for discharge. I like that it also helps them with managing their anger, anxiety and teaching coping skills.

Court-Mandated Programs for DWI and Drug Offenses

I find it good to know that they also offer court-mandated programs for adults for people struggling with addiction and drug use. This program is designed for clients who have been mandated by the court system, following DWI/DUI convictions. They offer two programs, one for DWI convictions and one for drug offender convictions, both meet regularly for between 12-15 hours of class time.

When i was attending waterford as my 3rd iop php treatment facility i was expecting it to be the same as the other ones i have been to and that is just not the case. I had went back with substance abuse problems and other issues but i wanted to be the best i could be for my daughter and i talked with Ms.Christina and Mr.todd and we were able to figure out a plan that was useful but also something with structure because that is what lacked at the other facility’s i had been to for me personally. i was there for 6-8 weeks and i can say it was the most memorable and amazing experience i was able to get out of a php iop facility and they offer an amazing program for young adults and adolescent teens i can gladly say i recommend waterford counseling to anyone if you are looking into getting yourself help or someone you know or love they are so welcoming and up lifting and you will definitely almost piss your self with how hard you laugh at some of the things that are said. Thank you again waterford

During an unfortunate time Waterford counseling has helped beyond words can express. Todd, was able to get us in same day and treatment started same week. The entire staff has been pleasant and helpful. Jenn, is relatable and the kids here are able to open up and feel comfortable talking about their problems and experiences. I feel so blessed to find this place and the community it has provided to my family.

Accepted Insurance

Please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Waterford Counseling works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Intensive outpatient programs offer high-level care for clients as an increased risk of relapse, including those in early recovery, those with a strong history of relapse, and those experiencing a crisis. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in nine to 20 hours of care weekly, with treatment modalities that combine psychotherapy and recovery education, and holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and animal therapy. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is also common in alcohol and/or opioid recovery.

Treatments

Substance abuse treatment is available in Texas for anyone who's struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. These programs usually provide a comprehensive assessment and individualized treatment plan, and include evidence-based treatments, like therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to reframe unhelpful coping strategies, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help with emotional regulation and stress.

Programs

Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Texas is to change thought patterns, which leads to changes in behavior. Specific techniques during CBT can include self talk, SMART goals, journaling, and positive activities.

Individual therapy offers you a confidential space to address the complexities of your drug or alcohol addiction. Your therapist guides these personalized sessions to help develop self awareness and manage stress. This promotes sustained sobriety and overall well being.

The purpose of family therapy is to create a supportive and understanding family dynamic within the family unit. Therapists help individual members to identify and change harmful behavior patterns and improve communication. This provides a stable foundation for the family and their loved one's recovery.

Peer support is an important aspect of group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction. As you and your peers share stories and encourage each other, it fosters a sense of community and belonging that helps you process your feelings and reduces the sense of isolation that is associated with addiction.
