Elevate helped save my son’s life!  One year ago, I was on a desperate search for a place that would help my son quit drinking.  I went online and was so overwhelmed with all the choices!  I called a couple places and was not impressed with what they offered. I prayed to God He would lead me to the right place, and He did!  The 3rd place I called, this nice guy named Josh answered, and right away, we connected.  I asked questions, he asked questions.  What I loved about what he said, was that they did not rely on prescribing a bunch of meds to “fix” my son, but offered an in depth program that included exercise as part of the journey to recovery, and to ultimately learn to not rely on anything to self medicate ever again. Ding!  I knew he would love something like this, and the more Josh talked, the more I wanted to get my son on a plane!  Of course, the final decision was up to him, and at that point, he was ready for a major change, and trusted my judgement.  Thank God! Within days, my son was up north and that was the beginning of his new life because today marks his ONE YEAR from not having a drop of alcohol!  In fact, he liked Elevate so much, he stayed up there, trained heavily for 3 months, and is now an employee who helps counsel new clients.  He earned Employee of the Month last month and I couldn’t be more proud of the hard work he did and does for himself. I can’t thank Elevate enough for the part they played in his recovery.  It was divine intervention and I’m so grateful he chose himself and continues to live out his purpose.  Thank you to the team at Elevate!

Elevate helped my find out how to believe in and to love myself—now sobriety seems actually sustainable. I’m not sure what I would have done without this place, and I’m glad I never have to find out.

Angie welcomed me with open arms, her radiant smile and vibrant energy instantly making me feel safe and seen. She tailored my experience with such care that I always felt supported and comfortable. The program itself is exceptional comprehensive and deeply personal. From licensed psychotherapists and medical doctors to psychiatrists, nurses, holistic therapies, case management, personal training, and even a private chef, every detail is designed to nurture healing in body, mind, and spirit. To anyone considering The Rise in Malibu this place doesn’t just treat addiction it treats the person behind it. They saved my life. I want to share my experience at Rise Malibu. I started 2 months ago for a 30 day inpatient treatment. In one word I would describe my experience as AMAZING!! I have been to other facilities before but this experience is life changing. Its still early in my recovery, (60 days so far) so I can’t speak long term yet. My main therapist Dr Mark was incredible, and had approaches to sobriety that I had never heard of before. Terry, Michael, Cat, Gina, Tim and were all awesome therapists with differing methods of treating addiction. Not just AA which was enlightening to me. As a holistic sceptic, I was very surprised at how it helped me, especially the breathing techniques. I will utilize the breathing and yoga techniques the rest of my life. The support people at the facility John and Nam were great. Offering walks and hikes all the time as well as the Sunday outing. Especially enjoyed just talking about life with John who is a wonderful person and family man. The nurses Paige, Sherri and Zach were awesome to talk to and took very good care of me. The Chef Bryce is a 5 star chef who could work at the best restaurants. The food was great. The facility is beautiful with views of the ocean from every room and a pool on top floor where I stayed. Ron, the owner is a great guy and he really does care. That’s why he does this. I talked to him for an hour on my first call to Rise and he actually answers the phone himself every time I called the number. Again, it’s his passion to help people. The staff started talking about an aftercare plan 10 days after I joined the facility and I had a fully set up aftercare plan complete before I even came home. I very much look forward to writing back again in 6 months as I continue my recovery. In summary I don’t think you can find a better place. Rise has saved my life on numerous occasions! The staff alone is super amazing that they have become my family. I cannot speak highly of all the times I have been through Rise. The peaceful ocean setting , the warm pool, the delicious meals, the wonderful group therapies, the wonderful group outings, comfortable room accommodations (and very private!!) make the whole experience absolutely wonderful and such a blessing. Will forever be blessed by Rise and the wonderful people there that make it so special and fabulous. The staff, Including Christina , Angie, Gina , Dr Mark, Sharie, Paul W, John, Paige , Nam , Bryce, Beth, and many more have been more than wonderful to me during some of the most difficult times of my life.

I was a patient at DFC rehab facility and recently graduated. I can say hands down they saved my life . Not only did they teach me about alcoholism and what it means to be in recovery . i developed long time friendships that i know will help me to stay sober . i also loved how caring the staff where. I wasn’t the easiest patient at first but with their love and support i was able to not only become a recovering alcoholic but i have become a whole new person . I would highly recommend going here if you or a family member is still struggling

This was my second tine in DFC outpatient treatment, the reason I chose DFC was their teaching, there, client, and the friendly environment. I have been to many treatment centers in my past when I knew in my heart I was serious about recovering from drugs and alcohol. There was no other place that I wanted to go other than Design For Change. They give group and individual counseling tailored for the individual which helped me tremendously. They help me find out what I want and how to go about getting it in the group setting they don’t allow disturbances. They make sure everyone is focused. An attentive, which makes it easy to learn. DFC, my wife says thank you for giving her her husband back.

I have attended the Family Workshop many times. It is so amazing and has helped me so much. Dealing with addicted loved ones is so hard. You must have a support system to help you navigate all of the scary, stressful heartbreaking realities of this disease. The Design For Change staff have become like family to me. I know I can call on them when I need advice, someone to listen or just a shoulder to weep on. They understand and are always willing to help. I feel so very blessed to have found them. I wish every suffering addict and their family members would come to DFC for support and help. I am stronger and definitely more educated in dealing with my addicted loved ones one. If you are suffering from addiction or have a family member or loved one who is an addict, there is hope and help at DFC!

Did the full program, was the best decision I made in my life to get sober here. The staff were amazing and the friends and connections I made here have impacted my recovery so much. I’m really thankful for the support and the community at elevate.

Amazing location, staff and purpose. This is the place for people who need help with addictions from kind and understanding people. They don’t judge, belittle or accuse you, but in fact lift you up and teach you the tools for attaining the strength you need moving forward.

Today 8/1/2025 marks one year of sobriety. One year ago today I entered Elevate in Santa Cruz to start my detox from alcohol. A week later I relocated to the South Lake Tahoe facility. I had been drinking alcohol 45 plus years. I spent 30 days in Tahoe learning why and why I shouldn’t stay on my destructive path. Thank you to all that helped me. “OPP”

I completed my time In May 2025 and graduated in June 2025. During my time at California Prime Recovery I learned a great deal about myself. The staff, facilitators, there, counselors were all on point to support, assist, plan, exceptional guidance to recovery and coping strategies based on your individual needs to overcome any addiction, substance issue or mental health. The overall staff have great pride and are really genuine in everything they do. I had no complaints only compliments. I enjoyed my time here at California Prime Recovery and now regularly attend Alumni meetings with an awesome Coordinator Kori Crabb. I live in Texas and I miss the entire staff at. This place goes above and beyond for its clients. Let’s just say I’ve been there more than once on my road to recovery. The staff have become my second family. They have an alumni person that’s reaches out to clients to follow up after treatment and I call her my guardian angel. This place saved my life more than once and I believe it could do the same for you or your loved one. Highly recommend!

This place is great as far as accommodations go. They offer private rooms, catered/chef prepared food for lunch/dinner. Group facilitators and staff are professional and care for their clients.

This residential treatment center is awesome, kind staff. They were able to accommodate my need for a private room which is hard to come by.

I created really good connections while staying there. The staff was very easy to talk to and available. The atmosphere was very comforting while going through an uncomfortable time in my life.

Revive was a great experience. The first week was rough for myself but after finding a balance within myself and being able to attend groups I was able to acquire the tools I needed to maintain my sobriety.

Awesome place with awesome people! I truly felt like every staff member cared about me and my recovery journey every day. Justin the case manager always had an open door to talk when I needed. Karen the program director and David the operations director helping me get paperwork filled out as painlessly as possible. Jeramiah, Lisa, Winnie, Jessie, and Tony on the nursing staff always ready with a smile and positive attitude. JJ, Lane, and Isabel, the techs that put up with me daily with a smile on their face no matter what I did. I can’t recommend Laguna View Detox enough. Love first steps

I’m almost at my completion of 30 day in Firststeps recovery I’m gonna tell you this program has been an eye opener for I really thought it was going to be like them programs around Fresno that have all the criminal elements and different types of court ordered people but it wasn’t. This was way different every type of working class people trying to better themselves and I never seen this around not in all the times I was court ordered to attend NA/AA classes thank god it’s east like what I was used to seeing I felt at peace and excepted here because I to have been to prison from the age of 18 till I was 25 years old I spent probably 2 months out in the streets I was clean for about 14 years and around 3 1/2 years ago I picked up again this time almost taking myself to the grave now I enjoy waking up every morning with a purpose in life to better myself and the people around me that are in this program. You our addiction doesn’t discriminate it attacks every walks of life and I’m glad to enjoy my sobriety with individuals that excepted me in like everyone that walks through the Firststeps recovery facility so if you have a family member or friend that needs help in addition I recommend you send them here were no one is judged but excepted as the addicted that we all are my drug of choice is meth there’s can be alcohol, opioids, or just marijuana addition is addiction and we all understand each other regardless of our D.O.C. Michael’s House changed my life in matter of weeks. I did things that I never have thought I could and hearing from family members as much of a glow they see within me. I know at times I struggled tremendously with doubting myself but knowing the strong support system I had with the team members kept me afloat. First off I came back here for a reason, I initially came to Michael’s House in April on 22. Obviously I didn’t listen to their recommendations and tried it my way. This time around I was lucky they even took me being that I was on 200mg of methadone. But they had the knowledge and means to detox me safely! I was scared but the whole staff At inpatient to IOP to TLC was exemplary in their approach to help me. I could not have done it with out them, thank you to everyone that helped me on my journey, to many names to name!! I will forever hold Michael’s house deep in my heart! I love this place like home! William!!

If it wasn’t for parent care I would have never been able to get my kids back or be the better person that I am today! They helped me with better parenting skills but I was able to fight my addiction and I have been sober since July 1st 2021. Special shout out to Shawna my counselor and Jessica my therapist. Also thank you all the other counselors and teachers for your amazing support through one of the most difficult times of my life.

ParentCare is a wonderful, healing place with caring staff.

I have struggled with alcohol abuse for the last three years and this was the ONE place out of 23 treatment centers that finally worked. Nobody ever thought they would see me sober, but today I can say I am, thanks to Sober Life. I was a frequent relapser, just barely making it by, and when I decided to seek treatment through Sober Life a whole new world opened for me. The team at Sober Life cares. I felt valued, I felt empowered, understood and heard. After being in and out of so many treatment centers I found myself fatigued, but through my process with Sober Life I actually wanted to continue my program as long as I could. I WANTED to be there and I’ve learned a life I never knew possible thanks to the team there. I can say that this program likely saved my life, and showed me a new life that I could never have imagined. The support and understanding was beyond belief. I felt so safe there. I’ve made friendships with a lot of my peers from groups as well. Which I never wanted to do before. Recovery can be difficult to begin, scary to start, but Sober Life feels SAFE. I’m not the type to write reviews, but I know how hard I struggled and for anyone reading this or questioning a start, I highly recommend this team. I am eternally grateful for my experience there.

Sober life has been one of the best experiences in my life! I came in not really sure what I wanted out of treatment and scared to really connect with people and have them see me in my weaker moments. All of the staff at sober life loved me through these issues and helped me get to a place where I felt safe and comfortable enough to communicate what was really going on with me, and gave me the tools I needed to be able to deal with things as they came up on a daily basis. Anytime I was a little off or lost any amount of momentum, they noticed immediately and did whatever they could to make sure I continued my progress and that even though addiction is a lonely disease, it became a lot easier to believe I wasnt alone and recovery is possible. It wasn’t complicated at all, they handle the insurance stuff for you so you can focus and prioritize your recovery over anything else. Kimberly, Dan, Ashley, and Kelley have all been huge grounding stones in my recovery, showing up every time and helping me make solutions out of chaos. Having all of these amazing, kind, and extremely dependable people in my life has kept me steady and also taught me what having people around who genuinely love you, want the best for you, and who celebrate your achievements and help you through your downfalls looks like. Like any recovery program, you have to want it and put in your own effort, but they make the weight just lighter enough that it seems much more attainable.

Went through EVERLAST recovery two years ago. I am not only still drug free but I now work as a case manager and counselor. I am so thankful for everything they did for me. Would highly recommend.

I was very satisfied with everlast recovery, there much different from other facilities such as not feeling like a hospital setting or feeling like a 5150 facility. Everlast treated me like family and so did the rest of the patients in there. Everlast gave me the tools to cope with my struggles of addiction and showed me how the sober life is the better life. Shane the counselor is awesome super good dude. Would highly recommend everlast recovery 💯

I spent 30 days at the Turrell house, and although it was my first time in treatment I believe I was meant to come to this place specifically. They did such a wonderful job welcoming me, the staff and residents really helped me settle in to the routines of the program. I loved every single group session we did throughout my stay, and i loved all of the outside meetings we went to every week, I learned so much, and I actually found my sponsor because of this program. They really care about every client individually and are very attentive to specific needs. I loved working with Katie as my case manager, she did an amazing job. Thank you so much Everlast, I’ll definitely be back to visit!

I just wanted to say what a great place this facility is, I ended up staying here for a few months, the groups were great I got a lot of invite and knowledge from them. I came to OC revive from Oklahoma broken and hopeless. I wish I could find the words to describe how much this program has changed my life how much they care about their clients and not just look at them as another payday. I completed the substance abuse program and because of the kind of care and attention I received I decided to also do the mental health program as well. As a new graduate I’ve got my life back together I’m sober and I’m thriving thanks to the help of OC revive. I cannot say enough good things about Windward Way! I had reached a point in my addiction where I was headed down a slippery slope toward losing it all. Through my higher power, my family was able to see I needed help and helped me get in touch with Windward Way. From the moment I walked into Campus to this very day, I have felt nothing but love and encouragement. I didn’t know anything about Rehab or treatment centers, but from talking to others they can be vastly different. Many putting profits and business over people and healing. Not Windward. Every person who works there truly cares about you as a person and how they can best help you in your journey. I felt heard and cared for. My case worker Jeri is top notch. Helpful, knowledgeable and most of all loving. There are too many techs to mention by name but each one was on par. The groups led by the facilitators were so helpful. Each facilitator brought a different style. Ken and his love for the big book, Kelly and her love of teaching us through art and inner peace, Chad and his ability to tell a story or set up a learning environment that draws you in intellectually. Tony is exceptional in just chopping it up, but always ensuring we left with a valuable tool. Otis and his ability to understand everyone in the room even given our vast age differences. Gerald and his desire to keep us involved in after care. My house manager Monica for truly listening to each housemates concerns, and I cannot forget my therapist Christina for all the insight she gave me into why I am they way I am. And last but not least the drivers. They each had a way of just listening to our chatter and somehow still teaching us skills and showing us care. I could go on all day! Love you Windward!

Dom was a GODSEND – when it came to my friends experience here, if it wasn’t for his incredible understanding and knowledge with her insurance ( I had hung up the phone so many times with them- I was hopeless in getting her treatment) he saved the day. Bayside Marin is an excellent treatment center. At first, I didn’t want to go here, mainly because of negative reviews and hearsay from an acquaintance, and corporate ownership. But I quickly changed my mind. I came here devestated by a very traumatic year of my life, in as much of a mental health crisis as I was in a substance one. Throughout the length of my stay, I was treated with understanding, patience and compassion. The bulk of their program is cookie cutter evidence based, but high quality. The employees at Bayside really care about their work, and their clients, and because of this it didn’t have a corporate feel, even though they’re owned by Acadia. What made this stay extra special for me was the therapy and one on one conversations I had with staff. I had the honor and privilege of working with the best therapist I’ve ever seen. When there’s a true match with therapy it can be magical, spiritual. I have transformed into a better version of myself because of the one on one work with my therapist, whose intelligence, wit, patience, and compassion helped me to rise above and shine, despite facing some extremely challenging triggers in residential this time. When you can’t fully care about yourself, sometimes you can borrow someone else’s faith in you until you’re able to care about yourself a little more. By the end of my stay, I felt more confident and centered than I had in a long time. I also wanted to say, the tech supervisor helped guide me psychologically and spiritually as I faced various challenges at Bayside, and helped revive my interest in spirituality, meditation and awakening. I had the best spiritual and psychological support I could have asked for, which I thought would be impossible after being at Olympia House in 2022. (Both are good rehabs with their unique strengths and weaknesses. I learned a lot at both, but they’re not directly comparable, OH is a little more unique in terms of approach and programming. Bayside was extra meaningful because of the particular therapist I worked with, the behavioral technician supervisor I mentioned and the particular clients I bonded with. They actually listen to client feedback and I watched them make numerous improvements over the three months I was there. With that said, there is room for further improvement. Clients are shuffled over to the main campus from detox with very little explanation of where to go and when, which leaves freshly detoxed clients confused, angry, and feeling disrespected. I’ve been told they’re working on fixing this problem. Scheduling glitches do happen, but that’s true of any medium or large rehab. They do their best. And also, sometimes communication can be a little complicated between departments. No place is perfect. Gorgeous campus. Food was great. I was told this was a rehab for rich people who valued aesthetics over content, but that’s not what I found here. They have some incredible talent working for them and client socioeconomic backgrounds are mixed. Last. I would encourage people, strongly, to ask to change their therapist if the initial assignment isn’t a match. I did, and it made all the difference in my stay.

This facility saved my life in 2017! They treated me as an individual while helping me process my trauma and grief. I was able to create new habits, build self esteem and stop self medicating through life. My children & I are forever grateful to Bayside for showing me a new way to live!
