The work they have them do on themselves got him to finally see why drugs and alcohol are no way of life. He’s finally sober and actually enjoying it! What makes Rise special is that it never felt transactional to me. It felt personal. Real care, real connection, real support, and people who continue to stay connected long after treatment ends. That says everything. And for me personally, recovery wasn’t something that necessarily “landed” the very first time. Sometimes the spiritual experience happens when it’s truly ready to happen. What I can say today, sitting here over 16 months sober, is that Rise helped give me the tools, foundation, support, and perspective that allowed that change to finally take root in a real way. Allison was a godsend to me at a dark point in my life and was able to get me into Rise’s treatment program with short notice. The team there is unparalleled. I wish I could name everyone that were members of my treatment team at Rise, but a few shoutouts to Nam for driving my sad sack self to Rise, baking amazing bread, and being an amazing support from Day 1, Shari & Zach from nursing for the care, fun, pep talks, and compassion, Dr Mark for his wisdom and pragmatic approach that I really resonated with, and numerous others (the chefs are next-level good, Tessa, Luke, Saber, Destiny, Cesar, Cat, Michael, Terry, Adrian, etc). Outside of the fantastic staff, I’ll add that the house is gorgeous, the groups are varied and enriching, there’s a good balance between free time & groups, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and they do a great job of ensuring that you have access to outside appointments – for example, I was able to go to Passover services while at Rise without having to go through a lot of hoops/bureaucracy. The amenities are fun and obviously appreciated, but the heart of this place is really why I would recommend it to a loved one or friend in a heartbeat. Thank you so much, Rise team!!! There are experiences that change the texture of your life — and then there is Aton. I came here not knowing quite what to expect. I am leaving a different person. Not a repaired version of who I was. Someone new. Someone I actually recognize. I have been in all sorts of expensive therapy for twenty years, yet I have never worked with clinicians and staff members of this caliber. The excellence here is real, but what makes it rare is that it lives alongside genuine, unhurried care. It sort of felt revolutionary to discover that people like this exist. The clinical breadth is extraordinary — EMDR, IFS, CBT, DBT, ACT, hypnotherapy, and hybrid methodologies that meet you exactly where you are and help chart your own path forward. The group sessions deserve their own mention. Capped at six people, they never feel like group therapy in the way you might dread or see in the movies. Each session presents real tools you can actually see yourself using in the the real world, neurobiological explanations of the brain-body connection, Melinda's amazing jokes, and honest conversation about what it actually means to recover, not simply abstain. But Aton understands something most treatment centers don't: healing is not only a mental act. The holistic modalities — massage, acupuncture, personal training, physical therapy, private yoga, and hypnotherapy — are not amenities. They are medicine. And they invite you to receive all of it in a luxurious residential estate setting with lushly landscaped grounds that are, frankly, breathtaking. I'm local so I liked that Recovery Beach is right in Orange County. My family didn't have to fly somewhere or take a whole day off to visit. The place is way nicer than you'd expect. Apartment style rooms, good food, solid groups. I actually wanted to stay and do the work which is not something I've ever said about treatment before.
