Alcoholism, also known as alcohol use disorder (AUD), is a pattern of experiencing difficulty controlling alcohol consumption and a failure to stop drinking even when it causes problems. Treatment for this addiction is typically customized for each person, but generally follows a three-step process. Outpatient
