About Clearfork Academy

Clearfork Academy is a Texas based adolescent behavioral health provider offering a dedicated PHP and IOP campus in Carrollton for teens ages 13 to 17 years. The program treats substance use, mental health and co-occurring disorders.

Cutomized programs may also include treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma, opioid and fentanyl use, vaping and alcohol concerns. Clearfork’s mission is to help families heal together by keeping teens connected to home, school and community while receiving structured care.

Teen PHP and IOP in Carrollton

The Carrollton campus specializes in outpatient addiction and mental health treatment for adolescents who need more support than weekly therapy can offer. IOP meets 3 days per week for 3 hours.

PHP meets 5 days per week for 4 hours and often serves as a step down from residential care within the broader Clearfork network. Sessions blend individual, group and family therapy with evidence based modalities like CBT, DBT, EMDR and TBRI.

Your program may also include experiential activities like art, music, recreation and nature outings. Families consistently highlight the compassionate staff, individualized planning and meaningful family involvement, reflected in a 5.0 rating on Rehab.com.

Faith Optional, Family Centered Care

Clearfork pairs clinical treatment with academic continuity through on site and virtual school support, helping teens stay on track. Families can choose an optional Christian based track, or receive the same evidence based care without faith elements.

Getting Started in North Dallas

The Carrollton campus serves teens and families across Carrollton, Plano, Addison, Frisco and greater North Dallas, with both in person and virtual options available.

Clearfork accepts many major insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Tricare and others, along with private pay and HSA options.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Intensive outpatient programs offer high-level care for clients as an increased risk of relapse, including those in early recovery, those with a strong history of relapse, and those experiencing a crisis. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in nine to 20 hours of care weekly, with treatment modalities that combine psychotherapy and recovery education, and holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and animal therapy. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is also common in alcohol and/or opioid recovery.

Treatments

Alcoholism occurs when a person becomes physically and psychologically dependent on alcohol. Attending a professional alcohol rehab in Texas can provide customized intervention methods to address the physical, mental, and relational challenges of addiction.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Substance abuse treatment is available in Texas for anyone who's struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. These programs usually provide a comprehensive assessment and individualized treatment plan, and include evidence-based treatments, like therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to reframe unhelpful coping strategies, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help with emotional regulation and stress.

With a co-occurring drug or alcohol addiction and a mental health disorder, you'll want to seek out a dual diagnosis treatment center. These specialized rehabs offer services to address both conditions at the same time, including 24/7 access to medical and mental health professionals. By treating both disorders at the same time, it drastically increases your chances of successful long-term recovery.

Clinical Services

Peer support is an important aspect of group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction. As you and your peers share stories and encourage each other, it fosters a sense of community and belonging that helps you process your feelings and reduces the sense of isolation that is associated with addiction.

Individual therapy offers you a confidential space to address the complexities of your drug or alcohol addiction. Your therapist guides these personalized sessions to help develop self awareness and manage stress. This promotes sustained sobriety and overall well being.

The purpose of family therapy is to create a supportive and understanding family dynamic within the family unit. Therapists help individual members to identify and change harmful behavior patterns and improve communication. This provides a stable foundation for the family and their loved one's recovery.

Since last year my son has been struggling in ways no 13-year-old should have to. When his dad decided he wanted to take them and then, when he couldn’t, chose not to be involved at all it hit him hard. He became depressed, sad, and angry. I started seeing changes in him that scared me. He began hanging out with the wrong crowd and making choices that just aren’t who he is. I refused to sit back and watch him go down that path alone, especially if part of his pain came from things outside of his control. So I got him into therapy. When that didn’t help, and after he got kicked out of school and sent to alternative school, I knew I had to do more. I started researching every option I could find. I came across Clearfork Academy, one of three programs I seriously considered. After everything I read, I chose them. And even with insurance, this was going to cost me around $5,000. But I didn’t hesitate. I will do whatever it takes to help my son. Yesterday was his first virtual session while he finishes out school and honestly, my experience was TERRIBLE. What I saw and heard did not reflect that. I’m sharing this because parents deserve to know what they’re signing their kids up for. And more importantly, because our kids deserve better. My son joined a virtual group session where he was met with a facilitator named Nicole. Along with a group of teenagers clearly above his age. I left him alone to do his session, which was scheduled from 5pm-8pm. I was cooking dinner when I overheard the facilitator using profane language, which I did poke my head out about to clarify I was hearing correctly. But in the end I chalked it up to her trying to engage and meet these kids in the middle. I went to my room to give him some privacy and after about 10 minutes he comes to get me to tell me he’s uncomfortable and I need to come immediately. I go in there to overhear this facilitator playing “Never have I ever” with all of these underage kids. And instead of it being, never have I ever jumped off the high dive, never have I ever eaten a vegetable or something like that. They are speaking about sexual acts. I’m floored and baffled bc am I hearing what I’m hearing? The facilitator allows it and even laughs and engages pretending she’s going to put a finger down when one of the kids mentioned a 🚂 situation. One of the kids even asked “How far can we go Miss”. To which she replied: “IDGAF you don’t see a therapist on here do you?!” I immediately leave the zoom call and email the school. But that wasn’t enough because my son was exposed to things outside of his age level and comprehension. Also, it was about $400 for this session, so I call the school. The director took 56 minutes to call me back. When she did, the first thing she said was that we need to discuss the HIPPA violation on my part for being present during this session. Then they would do an internal investigation. She then tells me that she knows this lady Nicole from CLEARFORK ACADEMY and she’s never heard her act or speak that way. She mentioned why would she do this or allow this if a therapist could come in at any minute from their break out session!? As a single mother I was going to spend every dime I had on this place to make sure my son had the care he needed. Instead they exposed him to things he had no idea about; like eating 🐱 on a first date. Getting 💴 for sexual acts. Getting 🚂 ran on you. As well as other things we won’t mention. To be clear, he was just in 1 hour of his very first session with this company. There is no reason we would make this up. We had no reason to point fingers or lie about these events. I will advocate for ALL children and also scorch the earth for mine. This academy didn’t reach back out after my complaint was made to the director. And they (the director) laughed at me when I made the complaint in the first place. Made me feel as if I was lying. When I had, at this point exhausted all options and was simply seeking help from this CHRISTIAN BASED ACADEMY. I’m not done advocating for my son. Not even close.

From the very first welcoming meeting to the last day of therapy with Jennifer and Kara, my daughter and I were gifted with compassion, patience, and guidance. After failed experiences with inexperienced therapists and inappropriate interventions by another mental health center, it was beyond relieving to finally meet professional and sincere caretakers to lead us through difficult discussions and crucial decisions. We are abundantly grateful to Kara and Jennifer. 🌷🌹🌸🌺💐
