I truly couldn’t say a negative thing about Sandstone Care in Denver; they are amazing. I was in one of the lowest points of my life when I reached out to Sandstone admissions and even then, I received the best care right off the bat. My admissions coordinator, (Kevin Clark) was incredibly helpful and informative and even mentioned some of his own story to make me feel more comfortable and confident in starting this new journey in my life. I started the program in their PHP group and I first noticed that it felt different from the other treatment facilities I had ever been to. I felt comfortable, accepted, and safe. It was a new, but warm feeling. In the PHP group, I learned several /new/ ways of looking at the different issues I was going through. It didn’t feel like anyone was blaming me, but more like “these are things I am struggling with; okay, what can I do to make them feel less awful?” This is something that made Sandstone different for me – they actually helped me, as the individual, build new foundations and discover my values in life. After I finished up their PHP program, I stepped down to IOP and from there, I felt like a new person. I noticed that my self-esteem was growing and that when I was going through my lower moments of time, I could actually recognize what was happening and control the situation. Now this was huge considering I have been struggling with Anxiety/Major Depressive disorder since 5th grade. I could not figure out the words to describe the weight lifted off of my chest after completing my time at Sandstone Care. For anyone considering treatment for yourself or a loved one here, I would seriously recommend it. I was hesitant at first because of the question, “what if it’s just like every other mental health facility?” It’s not and I will die on that hill. During my time at Sandstone, I worked closely with the lead therapist, Sam, the program director, Mike, and the family therapist, Elliot. Each of these individuals made such a huge impact on my mental health journey and I am just so grateful for them. They really do make a difference.

I walked through the doors of Jaywalker Lodge in August 2024 and never looked back. Jaywalker gave me all of the tools, support, and motivation to give my life purpose again and LIVE.

This was a once in a lifetime experience I never would in a million years have expected I would have and love. Yes it’s a rehab and is a big commitment, most notably the financial aspect. Yet it was totally worth the investment both in terms of all the money me and my family spent for me to go through yet even more so the time. I had gone to one treatment center before I ended up doing Jaywalker just over a year ago. The difference was I really felt the love and support from pretty much everyone involved with Jaywalker from the time that I toured throughout my stay. This is for me the most important part of what speaks volumes about Jaywalker. From the staff to the alumni program to the guys I went through with it doesn’t get much better. All I have to say really is if you give yourself over to the program and allow it to work it can prove life changing. I was beyond lucky that I happened to have grown up and still be living in the Aspen area where Jaywalker is located. I am forever grateful that I finally came to terms with my addiction and got myself checked in and stuck with it. I never gave sobriety a real thought whatsoever until my life blew up in my face. Over sixteen months later having stuck with it my life is so much better than I could have imagined and it’s all thanks to Jaywalker. The biggest thing I would say about Jaywalker is if you do it and get through your time you’ll be a part of an amazing alumni program that for me is like an extended family of mine. So many of these guys for me are like brothers at this point and it would have never happened had I not just grown the hell up and confronted my problems. I could rave all day long about Jaywalker suffice it to say I highly recommend it.

There was always something positive and grounding to be a part of.

I attended the CMHS IOP after struggling with a depressive episode and was super impressed by the professionalism, organization, and kindness of every staff member I interacted with. Receiving treatment at Inner Balance was a trans formative experience. I experienced healing from all perspectives and was given the tools to create a sober life.
