I was there inpatient and is not as bad as this ppl make seem to be those it needs a few improvements yes but the staff and management do what they can with the amount of ppl is in there. I'm glad I was able to be in this place it save my live

CarePlus honestly saved my life. While it’s primarily group therapy focused, Sheri was an excellent facilitator (and therapist) for the group (and on an individual basis, as well). If you need support regarding mental health and/or overcoming substance use, this is the best facility in the area for PHP/IOP. From the first day, you can tell the faculty actually cares and wants you to succeed in overcoming any challenges you face regarding mental health/substance use. With the help of their case workers, their support goes beyond just your treatment which helps you feel supported even outside of PHP/IOP. Highly recommend CarePlus to anyone in need of this care.

My Mom had a wonderful experience at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island hospital! The care she received was exceptional! We were so impressed with how quick the response time was by the staff when the call button was pushed. The staff at every level was kind, caring, patient and professional. They went out of their way to make my Mom’s extended visit comfortable. Mom appreciated some of the staff’s humor and detailed explanations. My mother is legally blind and the staff went out of their way to help guide her with meals and walks with lots of detailed verbal cues. As you can see, Mom made the best of her stay ringing in the New year on 2North. One of the best houses I've ever stayed in!!

I like the facility and staff for the most part. Didn't like the amount of smoke breaks or at least how far apart they were. If you can check yourself out of the place I don't see why you're not trusted to smoke in their enclosed area. But the food was good. The chef there, John, made sure you had multiple options available

I had a food experience here. SCADD detox has some wonderful staff that really left a impression on me and relate with the clients there through their own experiences .

Some of these posts are BS the treatment at Rhodes is very good. They also have a good rate of recovery. God bless

Knowing the staff has to deal with some difficult people 'i get why they might have a attitude once in awhile. This program probably saved my life but it definitely changed since I've been coming here for 22 years. Seems to me that the MONEY is most important to this place' but that's the sad part I am grateful for this place still the same. Thanks.

I have completed 11 years of sobriety thanksvto the Pines..Edsel was.my counselor and he wasngreat..but mostly I needed to be away from everything and the 90 day stay provided a solid detox..Ivwssxa self pay and $1800 a month was a deal...the place is old and buildingv1 for new arrivals smells like asd because of the chemicals coming out ofbus but no doubt the Pines savrd my life

I love this place because my Counselor there Ms.Mary Jones cares about helping clients..She gives all she have into helping the clients learn to love themselves. ..I am so very blessed to have graduated from there..Now I am living a life that God intended me to have..Thank You Ms.Jones...Special K....

I have had the honor of being accepted into the program, the class and meeting are well put together, they do have the skills you need to be successful in your recovery, you just need to be completely focused on your recovery and dedicate yourself to that, because if you don't the program will not work. I sit back and watch women complain and iI see them same women not fully applying themself to the program, if you want something to work you have to read and do what the instructions say or you're not going to get it right, and you tend to blame the program. 1st I believe the consistent use of the cell phones are a major distraction to our recovery while we are here, there are unit phones that can be used. Also, the rules need to be enforced more and taken serious by the clients, the disrespect between the clients are childish in this moment, so staff are in high stress due to the disrespect they receive by the clients, please don't believe all the wrong things you here about this program. I am an addict and in recovery, we have a tendency to say things out of anger and when things don't go our way. this program really works, but only if you work it.... truly, sincerely Ms. Keyonna Fontes 7/4/24

I don't know about all programs but options in SMHA has great therapists and med providers I have been going here 3 years and overall I would highly recommend it.

I recently started therapy sessions here as well as having my first medication management appointment just the other day. I do see Joy for therapy and feel extremely comfortable sharing with her which I’ve had a hard time doing in the past. I’m excited to work on my goals and continue working with Joy, I am so happy I have had the opportunity to meet with her. She really listens and has such a calming and kind presence about her, thank you so much Joy You are amazing ! And I had my medicine appointment with Barbara and she was also very kind , actually listened to you and your concerns, she definitely cares about her patients and that can be rare to find .. I appreciate you both and as well as the extremely kind and attentive front desk. I’m very happy with my experiences so far !

I've been working with Michelle for many years now and I have no complaints. She was always available and my prescriptions were sent in quickly. She spends the time to talk to you about the prescriptions, if they are working or not, or if you want to switch any. She has a discussion with you in detail and had even offered me samples before to check out a new medication I was interested in. Since Covid, I don't even have to go to their office, it's all virtual.

I’ve been seeing Michele, my Psych APRN, for six years. I was honestly shocked to see low ratings online, as I believe they stem from past staffing issues and not a reflection of Michele herself. When I first started with Michele, I was a newly single mom, early in sobriety, and had just returned to my home state. I'd never been able to maintain sobriety or stick with a consistent, competent provider before. Michele changed that. As a mental health professional myself, I appreciate her understanding of the challenges I face. She respects that I know what works for me and never talks down or assumes a power dynamic. That mutual respect is rare and refreshing. She has consistently been there when I needed her—offering short-notice appointments, guiding me through medication changes, and sharing insight based on patient experiences. She provides helpful context on what to expect from medications and offers samples when insurance delays occur. Michele stays on top of refills—something that’s been a major issue with other providers I’ve had in the past. She knows how critical it is to not miss doses and ensures her patients don’t have to go without. Beyond medications, she offers thoughtful, holistic guidance—encouraging good sleep, nutrition, therapy, and attention to one's environment, all of which impact mental health. She sees the whole person, not just the diagnosis, and her approach reflects deep empathy and understanding. Michele recently moved into a new, calm, and bright office space, which she now shares with a small, stable team. The environment is private, peaceful, and easily accessible—but what matters most to me is that Michele herself is accessible. I don’t have to go through multiple layers of staff just to get help. That direct connection is invaluable. Over the years, she’s supported me through one of the hardest times of my life—emotionally, physically, and mentally. She never dismisses my concerns and always offers encouragement, especially on tough days when I’m doubting myself as a mom or struggling with chronic health issues. She reminds me that I’m doing my best and that things will get better. I’m especially grateful for her flexibility—offering telehealth when getting to the office is tough and allowing me to bring my child when needed. As a solo mom, that level of understanding makes a world of difference. Her support has helped me stay sober and emotionally stable—something I never thought was possible before working with her. Michele is the first provider I’ve had who is consistent, present, and reliable year after year. I genuinely hope she continues practicing for a long time because having someone like her in your corner—especially when managing recovery, chronic illness, and mental health—is rare and incredibly valuable. Thank you, Michele, for everything you’ve done and continue to do. I am truly grateful.
