About Dove Counseling

Located in Thornton, Colorado, Dove Counseling offers outpatient treatment for those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. They receive federal and other government funding for their substance use programs. Cash and self payment are accepted, and a sliding fee scale is available to those who qualify.

Specializing in DUI Services

With a mission to empower change and restore hope in a safe, supportive environment, therapy focuses on modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Relapse prevention planning and comprehensive assessments are available. They specialize in DUI education and therapy, guiding individuals toward responsibility and recovery.

I found that they also offer Domestic Violence Offender Treatment, placing an emphasis on accountability, education, and skill building to promote nonviolent behaviors.

Gender Specific Treatment

They offer gender specific treatment groups, addressing the unique needs of both men and women on the recovery journey. I like that they coordinate with legal systems to ensure that services are aligned with legal requirements for their court referred clients. Victims of trauma and domestic violence have a special place in their program as well.

Outdoor Spaces in Thornton

Thornton is home to a number of parks and outdoor spaces to supplement your outpatient therapy. The Broomfield Community Park spans more than 40 acres, featuring playgrounds, lighted ball fields, an outdoor swimming pool, walking trails, an amphitheater, and an inline skate rink. The Platte River Trail is a multiuse trail that stretches for almost 30 miles, following the path of the river and providing scenic city and mountain views. The Denver Botanic Gardens offers 20 acres of themed gardens for calming contemplation and houses North America’s most complete collection of floral and fauna from temperate climates around the globe.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Clients receiving care in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) engage in a minimum of nine hours of treatment per week on average. However, many intensive outpatient rehabs offer up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP services are ideal for those in early recovery or who are at an elevated risk of relapse. IOP may be chosen in lieu of inpatient rehab. Treatment modalities typically include psychotherapy, life skills training, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and holistic care.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Clients engaged in a rehab aftercare program have completed active addiction treatment and are receiving services designed to promote their sustained sobriety. Drug rehab aftercare typically encompasses a wide variety of medical, mental health, and social services meant to facilitate clients' reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Clients typically collaborate with their case manager and/or recovery team to identify and access the services they need, often including peer coaching, career counseling, and care referrals.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

A drug intervention in Colorado is necessary when someone needs help with substance abuse but is unwilling to stop using despite multiple negative consequences. Intervention services are available to walk family and friends through a step-by-step process of planning and executing the intervention. A successful intervention requires careful planning and set-up as well as appropriate follow-up. Intervention services can be crucial to carrying out each of these steps.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Professional services are often necessary to recover from addiction. Drug rehab in Colorado provides the expert services needed to address the complex issues of addiction and help individuals start their recovery journey.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy is skills based and present oriented. You'll be asked to keep a diary of emotions and related behaviors and practice the skills you've been learning between sessions. The focus of skills development is on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

During trauma therapy, you explore the impact that a traumatic event has had on your life. Your therapist can help you develop strategies to manage the emotional and physical symptoms while improving emotional regulation. This improves your overall quality of life.

Based on the couple's needs, couples therapy may take different forms. Your therapist will probably take an integrated approach, using techniques from several methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic couple's therapy. The goal is to work through challenges and strengthen your relationship.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Life skills are traits you need to be successful during recovery, such as managing stress and interpersonal relationships. During rehab treatment in Colorado, you and your therapist will identify any skills that need to be developed and work on methods to strengthen them.

Good place to get group treatment, they do have the experience it takes to work with people in crisis. However, if you come late for a valid reason they will still punish you by taking away classes you have paid previously to attend...

This place is a joke. If you really want help go to Creative Treatment Options. Dove screwed up my boyfriend's service, then to cover their a$$, they lied to his probation officer, saying he missed classes. When actually they didn't have the proper services for him to begin with. So over 100hrs of classes means nothing cause Dove is incompetent POS. Seriously, go to Creative Treatment Options for services. They actually care.
