I was super nervous goin in but honestly this place helped more then I thought it would. the people who work here are mostly chill and really seem like they care, they don’t talk down to you or anything. i didn’t feel judged which matters a lot. only thing is the outside crowd can be sus so i’d say just head in and out, don’t stick around. it doesn’t feel all strict like a hospital or jail so that helped me stick with it. not perfect but it’s real and its helping me stay clean. would def recommend if you need a place to start

this place has staff that actually cares about you and sees you as a person. You can feel that they have love for you and they want your recovery. The nurses listen to you, the nurse practitioner listens, the techs are always there to help and the counselors are amazing.. This place saved my life and I wouldn’t wanna go anywhere else. It doesn’t feel like a jail or a lockdown. It is nice inside and feels extremely comfortable. Unforgettable experience. Almost all staff there when I was there to rehabilitate, was thoughtful and had their hearts in the right place. The program directors, support councilors, and all other staff members on campus made sure almost daily to check up on the youth, and building solid foundations of trust needed to have consistent progress in therapy both in session and internal. There were opportunities to further your education and if you could show responsibility and determination to better yourself, your given opportunity’s to learn more hands on life skills, like painting or how to properly write a resume and apply for a Job. While from the perspective of being rehabilitated, things can seem negative and hopeless at times. When I was there I didn’t share an positive outlook, but after deeply analyzing my experience In hindsight, this was the safest and most caring place to learn necessary coping skills to stay recovered. And I’m very thankful for all the staff members who did their job with their heart and minds in the right place. 5 stars

The men’s sober living on Concord Street is a really nice, supportive environment that’s conveniently located a two minute walk away from daily AA meetings. I had no idea what to expect going in here. This was my first time getting help for drugs and I was really nervous going in. I was even more anxious because the place is faith based, which was new to me. But the staff was nice and didn’t treat me like a screw up and the structure helped me feel normal. The food was better than I thought itd be and they had a decent gym. The whole program was pretty strict, but I get why and it helped me get more stable then I’ve been in a longtime.

I was a student at TC Orlando for 1 year and 5 days. During one of my first weeks in the program a lady at the car wash was kind enough to ask how we were doing that day and encouraged us by saying "remember there's no perfect program" and she was right. There's plusses and minuses to every aspect in life. I am not here to discuss what I thought was wrong with or right about TCO. I will say that many of the negative things I read in other Google reviews have been rectified and are no longer relevant. My aim in writing this review is that you will enter TCO eyes wide open and not be upset or surprised at what you do/don't find and will encounter God, graduate and maintain sobriety afterwards. Let me tell you what Teen Challenge Orlando has to offer Professional Services- If you require doctors visits or dental work, TCO offers transportation to and from appointments. Mentors provide regular opportunities for students to open up and talk about personal struggles. Amenities Kitchen/Cafeteria- Top of the line as far as rehabs go. All the coffee you can drink during breakfast but don't over do it. Meals are protein heavy, diverse and have a good amount of vegetables, essential for the brain's recovery on a chemical level. Stear clear of the sodas and limit your dessert intake or you'll get what's known as the TC 30 in your first 30 days. If not more... Dorms- Always cold but just in the way that you want. Mattresses- Par for the course. However, bring a $10 foam topper and you'll sleep like a baby, guaranteed. Closets- Each student gets half plus ample shelving space. There is a shed outback for shoes so the rooms don't stink and floors stay clean, 5 pair limit. Bathrooms- They are super clean and you'll never run out of hot water; plenty of sinks and showers. Usually no wait time for your morning shave. Remeber to be a gentleman and clean up after yourself. Your Mrs. or future Mrs. will appreciate this later. Laundry- They will have a couple of designated students assigned to laundry duty and your clothes will be washed and folded on a weekly basis. Gym- Outdoor, covered weight area with elliptical, free weights, multi-use lift machine, mat for stretching and a HUGE tire to flip around campus and compete with others for bragging rights! A half court for basketball and sandpit volleyball area. Sorry, no in-ground pool. This is rehab, not a resort. Need something? TCO has a massive thrift store. If you're lacking anything outside toiletries and socks/underwear all you have to do is fill out a slip and an intern or mentor will have you hooked up and "drippin" in a day or so. Library- Several hundred books ranging from addiction recovery strories to deep subjects of the Bible and personal growth. I read over 60 books during my time spent at TCO. The best part was a series of biographies about Christian heros of the faith. I read all of them. My one take away was this- Not a single one lived a boring, unfulfilled life once they fully surrendered It over to God and chose to walk in faith and obedience. The same can and WILL happen for you if you make that choice. Work Detail Monday 12-5, Tue, Thur, Fri, 9-5; Wed 9-4:30, Sat. 8-5 Usually done a little early to make it back for dinner. "What?! This sounds like a labor camp, not a rehab!!!" Well all your needs are provided for and "regular" people work 40 hrs a week. Think of it as a 12 months of retraining for when you get back out into the real world. You get to build up your work ethic without the pitfalls of spending a paycheck on drugs or alcohol. Furthermore Teen Challenge has over 1400 locations in 125 countries. Not all are financially self supporting. So the efforts put in here ensures that others receive help elsewhere. If you look at it from this perspective your outlook will be a lot more positive. Please see attached photos for complete review. Note- Reading in order 3, 2, 5, 4, 1

My experience at La Amistad was life-changing. Even though it was only for 30 days , it was the most effective . All the BHT's treated me as a human not as one who struggled with addiction. When I needed to talk, all the staff would stop what they were doing and simply be there! My therapist Michael was the greatest. Thank you La Amistad for helping me create the foundation of me taking my freedom from addiction/shame. God bless you guys!

Today marks one full year since I made the life-changing decision to get sober. This journey hasn’t been easy—far from it. It’s been filled with challenges, self-discovery, and hard truths. But every single day has been worth it. I am not the same person I was 365 days ago. I am stronger, clearer, and more in control of my life than I ever thought possible. Sobriety has given me a second chance — to heal, to grow, and to truly live. I owe so much of this transformation to the incredible support I received from La Amistad, and especially to my counselor Emil and therapist Allison. They didn’t just guide me; they held me accountable, believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself. Their compassion, wisdom, and unwavering commitment saved my life. One year in, I am proof that change is possible, no matter how dark the past. This is just the beginning — and I’m ready for everything that life has to offer. THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY LIFE La Amistad, I am forever grateful.

Referred through Truehealth for adult outpatient therapy. Quiet and clean environment. Intake process is respectful, thorough, and informative. Telehealth services are offered. Fantastic sliding fee scale and low-income/underinsured resources/services offered. Lots of options for people looking to manage complex trauma. The medication clinic has some wildly rude staff but also very helpful staff, which helps offset the rudeness. The physician Anne Roy is great. No telehealth, which is inconvenient for anyone with transportation restrictions. Not easy to reach front desk and have to go in person for authorizations and any updates.

This was my first visit to Dr. Nyckowski, and I was very impressed! The doctor was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything clearly, which made me feel comfortable. I came in for skin tag removal, and the process was quick and easy. I also had a mole removed, which I was nervous about, but the doctor performed it so efficiently that I felt no pain at all. Recovery has been smooth, and I’m very happy with the results. Highly recommend for anyone needing skin treatments!

I have been extremely impressed with Dr. Nyckowski's knowledge and ability! He immediately diagnosed my severe rosacea and eczema after observing my skin in a single session and was able to prescribe a regimen and medications that have FINALLY truly helped deal with my symptoms! The 3 previous dermatologists (including one overseas) were unable to recognize or help me deal with the severity of my issues. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Nyckowski and his very kind and helpful staff!

I was referred to Pamela a couple of weeks after my wife of 33 years passed away unexpectedly in January of this year. Pamela was a Godsend. She was vital in helping me to navigate the grieving process by going through-not around or avoiding it. While i will always love and miss my wife, Pamela has helped me to start to live my life again. My journey of grief will be with me for the rest of my life, I do have a life and owe it to myself and those i care about to live it. So grateful to have met Coach Pamela and to have had her guidance for the past 8 months. God bless you Pamela 😇

I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible support and guidance I received from Pamela over the past several years. When I first began my journey with her, I was struggling with deep trauma from loss and grief, as well as the complexities of addiction. I felt lost and overwhelmed, unsure of how to move forward. From our very first session, Pamela created a safe and nurturing environment that allowed me to explore my feelings and experiences without judgment. Her compassionate approach and deep understanding of human emotions helped me confront painful memories and begin to heal. With her expert guidance, I learned to let go of the burdens of my past and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Pamela equipped me with tools and insights that transformed my perspective on life and pain. She taught me that it's possible to rebuild and move forward, no matter how heavy the past may feel. Thanks to her support, I have emerged as a completely different person—stronger, more resilient, and ready to embrace life. I’m thrilled to share that I have started a new chapter with a loving partner and am in the process of building a new home. I truly feel like I am putting my life back together, and I owe a significant part of this transformation to Pamela. If you are navigating your own pain and suffering, I wholeheartedly recommend Pamela Hand. Her wisdom, empathy, and dedication to her clients are unparalleled. She has the power to help you find the light at the end of the tunnel and guide you toward a fulfilling life. Thank you, Pamela, for everything you have done for me!

I received care from La Amistad in the occurrence of my recent behaviors. I struggle with mental health and due to that I made very poor choices. I was admitted to La Amistad as an inpatient, meaning I would live on the site until I no longer required their care. The intake process was quite lengthy, my parents and I sat in a room for four hours signing papers and talking to random staff members. When I first stepped onto the main activity area, referred to as the "unit," I was mortified. I hadn't wanted to be in a mental health facility and when I looked around I had 25 different people's eyes on me. The female unit, or the "Bellas," was a large space with a decent amount of seats for the patients. The bathroom was shared and you were not permitted to shut the door all the way, it must always stay cracked because it locks from the outside. You had to do a "check" before entering any bathroom, to ensure you didn't bring any contraband into the restroom to harm yourself or your environment. The level system was an effective way for patients, additionally, when we were instructed at a certain time each evening that it was "chores group" it gave all of us an opportunity to learn life skills. Many may argue that it should be the staff's responsibility to clean up, but we aren't doing extremely tiresome chores. We sweep and wipe tables, each day there is a cleaner who disinfects everything with bleach- in the bathroom. It is challenging to be in a residential facility, but once you change your mindset and go into it taking ANY of the help you get, you will get better and get home quicker. My family lives quite a trek away so I was never able to get to see the in person over my eight week stay. But many others were able to visit their families during visitation hours on the campus on Saturday and Sunday. Also, they offer off campus visits with family as long as the patient has shown that they are ready for a "test run" with their families. It wasn't easy but I am very grateful that I went and committed to the time I spent there. You do attend school while at the facility. During the summer it is more relaxed and "fun" while you do actual school work during the school year. The teachers at the facility are wonderful! Ms. Kristen, Ms. Theresa, Mr. Evan, and even Ms. Rachel all provided a comforting learning environment. Ms. Kristen is the English teacher and she makes one hour of the day so enveloped in warmth and that feeling of love. Ms Theresa is the History teacher and she felt like the mom, she is loud but hilarious and her stories are always the best. Mr. Evan is the only male staff, for some that may be intimidating but don't go in with that mindset. He is one of the kindest people I have ever met, he is essentially a teddy bear who teaches math. And Ms. Rachel, she is the science teacher and as long as you follow her classroom rules and you do your work don't stress. In my opinion, the staff is wonderful. There are a few that I personally didn't agree were suited to work in an adolescent mental health and behavioral center. But overall, the staff was kind and stern when they needed to be. You have to remember that they are only wanting the best for you and what you deal with in the facility is not even a tenth of what the real world is like. You have to try, you have to work as hard as you can to better yourself while you are in that bubble. La Amistad is a great facility for those struggling with mental health, substance abuse, and behavioral issues.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the entire team at La Amistad residential adolescent program for the exceptional care, support and compassion our family received during my daughter’s residential stay. The staff’s kindness and professionalism created a safe environment that made my daughter’s healing possible. This was not an easy journey for our family, but the nurses, support staff ( Ms Grace, Mr Wolfgang), my daughter’s amazing counselor Kaelyn, Dr Weiss who is so incredibly knowledgeable and really listens to you , and the program director Kathleen Keane were trully exceptional and dedicated to their work. I so appreciated the ability to collaborate with the treatment team which kept me informed about my daughters care. My teen who was begging to be picked up the first two weeks did not want to leave the facility the day of discharge because of all the support and care she received from the staff who care deeply about those they serve. From the bottom of my heart thank you for all you do!

I started coming here about a year ago. At that time, I was lost for the first time in my life and didn’t know what to expect. From day one, the staff here showed me what real care looks like. Before finding this place, I went to another location just until I could see the doctor here, and the difference was night and day. That first clinic was everything you’d expect in a bad way — chaotic, impersonal, and focused on money over people. Here, it’s the complete opposite. This team truly cares about their patients and runs a tight ship. That credit goes to Mike, the director. On my very first day, he checked me, and I respected him instantly for standing up for his work family. He doesn’t let anyone disrespect them, and that leadership shows. Sharka at the front desk is incredible. She deals with some very strong personalities every single day, but still manages to greet everyone with kindness and make you feel welcome. I honestly don’t know how she does it, but I salute her for it. Leon was my counselor, and he’s as genuine as they come. I ask a lot of him, but he’s always there for me. I travel often for work, and he always makes sure my guest dosing is handled properly. Emma was the person who first helped me join, and she continues to help me in so many ways. She’s also amazing and always willing to go the extra mile. And the nurses — they’re the best. They make sure you leave with a smile when you can, and they understand when you can’t. Please respect them and the work they do, because this is not an easy job.
