Talbott Recovery is a treatment center based in Atlanta, Georgia. They provide substance abuse, alcohol and dual diagnosis programs. This modern facility is close to the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the metropolitan core of the city, and surrounding suburbs. This center is known for its very structured approach, beginning with medic
I want people to understand something important about the program. When you complete it and leave, the medications they use as “crutches” (like SSRIs) are not designed to be permanent solutions — but they don’t really prepare you for what happens when you try to come off them. In my case, when I finished the program, I was left with nothing but “good luck.” No tapering support, no real plan, no follow-up guidance. The withdrawal from SSRI medication was a horrific experience, and I had to seek out a separate doctor on my own afterward just to cope. People should know going in: the program does provide structure and tools while you’re there, but the aftercare is lacking, especially around medication dependence. Be ready to advocate for yourself and find outside medical support when you leave.

This place literally saved my life, my career, and my family. I was "functioning" in my opinion, but I was really blind to what was happening around me. My marriage was falling apart, my career was spiraling slowly downwards, my kids had a parent who was always drinking at home, and who might show up to a soccer game or a cheerleading contest drunk and loud and embarrassing. The truth was that I was dying in front of my kids and my spouse, my job was dying, but I thought I was living. I too came here under the "6 to 8 week" suggestion, but I knew how it goes. Admissions will usually tell someone that just to get them in. I was not naive in that fashion. Yes, some reviews say "bait and switch" or "I was told this at the beginning", but what they are not telling you is that everyone gets evaluated when they first get here, and based on cognitive tests, and how messed up you and your life are, patients either leave a little earlier, right on time, or they need a little more time (like me). I figured that I drank and used drugs for years, and that it would take more than under two months for me to even begin to get better. I learned new skills, got great therapy and education and care from the staff, and after 3 1/2 months I came back home. I work in television production, and my co-workers and bosses were so supportive and understanding. My family...took a little while before the trust and love came back, but it did eventually, and it feels good because I put in a lot of hard work. Listen, I know a lot of people come to treatment for the "band aid" to fix whatever problem is slapping them in the face. But if you really, truly want to get well, get sober, and get the kind of help you need, there is no better place than Talbott. You might have to stay a little longer than those other "spin-dry" types of rehabs that just keep recycling patients who keep relapsing, but I swear this place works miracles. I am living proof.

The staff (techs, clinicians, and medical/nursing staff) all truly care and are passionate about what they do. The other clients here definitely made it easier to acclimate because they are here for the same reason you are. I had the best case manager and therapist! Shout out to Angie and Terrance. Hope Harbor Wellness is a drug treatment facility in Hiram, Georgia which is just 30 miles west of Atlanta. The organization was started in 2020 by a woman who successfully recovered from drug addiction. With statistics showing an increase in drug overdoses in Georgia in recent years, Hope Harbor Wellness recognized a need to help address these hea
The journey of my recovery has definitely been a rollercoaster. I had to be court ordered to a program for a year. With devastation, I packed my bags and entered Hope Harbor hopeless and full of resentments for myself and the ones around me. To my surprise, this year has been the biggest blessing I could have received. The staff at Hope Harbor care about their clients and helped me cope immensely with my situation. As funny as it may seem, the clients and staff became like a second family to me. The groups are set to help those dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues, and it did just that. I’ve not only seen my life change before my eyes, but I’ve seen other clients excel and become an even more beautiful version of themselves. Self love is something many battle with daily, but the staff encourage and show clients different ways to show love for themselves and others. I have been inspired and filled with honor to witness the change in others and myself. Thank you for everything Hope Harbor. I would recommend this place above all others.

Hope Harbor Wellness Gave Me My Life Back Walking into Hope Harbor Wellness after completing detox from fentanyl, I was overwhelmed, unsure, and full of fear. I didn’t know what to expect — and like many in early recovery, I was skeptical. But from the very beginning, something felt different here. I was immediately welcomed with warmth, compassion, and a sense of safety that I hadn’t felt in years. The staff at Hope Harbor are truly one-of-a-kind. They are not just professionals — they are people who genuinely care, deeply and selflessly. They don’t clock out when the day ends. There is support here 24 hours a day. Whether you need someone to talk to, cry with, vent to, or just sit quietly beside so you don’t feel alone, there is always someone there. That kind of constant, unconditional presence made all the difference for me. I never felt judged — only seen, heard, and understood. One of the most powerful things about Hope Harbor Wellness is that many of the staff are in recovery themselves. They’re not just here for a paycheck — they’re here because they get it. They’ve walked the same path and know firsthand how hard it can be, which makes their support feel that much more genuine. They are living proof that recovery is possible, that you can overcome addiction, and go on to live a happy, sober, and fulfilling life. Having them by your side — people who truly understand — makes all the difference. Going through PHP and IOP at Hope Harbor was the best decision I could’ve made for my recovery. This isn’t just a program — it’s a lifeline. They teach you how to live again, how to build real coping skills, and how to navigate the real world without falling back into addiction. They meet you where you are, walk beside you through the process, and help you build a foundation for a better future. I’m beyond grateful — more than words can really say. Hope Harbor didn’t just help me stay clean. They helped me heal. They helped me believe in myself again. They helped me realize that I’m not alone, and that recovery is possible — one day at a time. If you’re struggling and don’t know where to turn, this is the place. Hope Harbor Wellness truly saves lives — and they saved mine.

This place was more comfortable to me than home when I had issues with alcohol intake, the staffs are more than welcoming, their ways of addressing your issues are just topnotch. I really can't refer to a particular staff cos they're all the same, one common interest, to give help to those that need it. Group meetings were just amazing, I found out I started being bold because of them, today am a completely different person from who I used to be, thanks to this place. I strongly recommend this place anyone who truly seek any kind of mental health treatment. I have them on my mind always. Thanks once again for transforming my life from bad to good. Kudos to that decent team!!

It was a safe place during my most suicidal years. I really appreciated the ability to isolate in my room, unlike other facilities that lock the rooms during the day. That was a necessity for me as an autistic person, in order to prevent overwhelm and truly feel safe. Therapy groups could be stressful, but I wasn't forced to attend which I really appreciate. When life feels so out of control, small things like that can go a long way

I have a family member that attended Purple and I feel that he is here today thanks to Purple's program and by God's grace. My nephew has been clean and sober for over 10 years and he is now a loving husband and new father. He would never have achieved these goals without God and Purple. The program was exactly what he needed as he is, and still needs to be VERY active. The program fit him perfectly and he is still very involved with his Purple family and their active lifestyle to this day. I know it was hard for him, but Purple's program, their method of reintegrating their clients back into their families lives and the work force, and post recovery programs are unmatched. Purple becomes a second family for these young men and they perform miracles. Thank you Brett, Joel and all the others that helped mold my nephew to become the awesome young man he is today! If you have a son or husband that struggles with addiction, please run, don't walk to Purple. They change lives!

After 4 or 5 failed attempts to stop abusing alcohol I wound up at MARR. The day after my 50th birthday. I was extremely upset and disappointed with myself. But something told me that I belonged there. And I made the best decision of my life. To stay there. I stayed for the mandatory 3 months and then an extra four more. Not only did I learn to stop drinking and live life without alcohol, but I leather be an adult. To ask for help. And most importantly I learned that I was not alone in my life or my journey. First of all, if you or a loved one are struggling with addiction of any kind, please know there is hope. My heart goes out to you. Stay strong, stay connected, and never lose faith. ARP has truly been an angel sent into my life. I feel so blessed that our paths crossed. When I thought my world was ending and I was losing all hope, they stepped in—for both me and my daughter. Now, about five years later, I can honestly say they saved my daughter’s life, and in many ways, they saved my family too. It’s not magic—it takes hard work—but none of it would have been possible without the people who work there. I may forget some names, but Jeff in particular is a gift from God. He does his job with love, empathy, honesty, a sense of fun, and unwavering dedication. I truly hope ARP can help you or your loved ones the way they helped us. I know every journey is different, but from the bottom of my heart, I wish you the very best. Thank you, ARP and team, for everything you’ve done for my daughter. Watching her grow free from chains and thrive is priceless. Thank you!

For the size of the facility it is not that big but it is not messy or dirty and is organized from what I have seen.

Im currently a client on methadone that has moved from Ca. to Ga. It was spur of the moment with no time to make arrangements. I spoke with ERIC on Healthqwests csr dept based on New Jersey. Fyi. Ive been in tech supt, customer service, Quality Assurance & M.I.S. For over 30 yrs Ive worn a headset and have been helping customers. Ive ALWAYS gone above and beyond to help, which is why I can say that ERIC assessed my dilemma for what it was and did his best to move Heaven and earth for me to get me the help i needed 2 days ago. He had an entire queue to help and he took my case as personal as was needed to help me. Moving here I have to change my Medicaid to Ga. which is NOT ez or quick. And I, having heart disease and 5 stents in my heart from 2 heart attacks. Short version of of i didn't get help and go into withdrawl the strain on my heart would no doubt KILL me. The man devoted most of his day trying to get my situation straightened out. Im detailing this because I want you to know this was the BEST service ive ever received in my 60 plus years on this planet, and it happened when my literal life was on the line. Healthqwest cant be beat if you want genuine effort with your help. The prices are competitive but you can't go wrong using them. Ill answer any question or comment too. The medication I take is no joke. I take it for a broken back I got when I was year ended on my motorcycle at a red light. I take it for Pain mgmt. Its a serious subject and serious things happen with it....and more without it. Id be crippled, so you can see the magnitude of my plight. Eric knew and did everything he could. I cant say enough for them. Chris OBrien

So far it has been good I recently transferred in from another clinic they were very helpful the only thing I do not like is all medicaid recipients have to video call daily to take the dose in front of a nurse or else we are not covered by medicaid for that day. Which is a medicaid thing but thats the only difference from my last clinic

Recent grad (90+ days sober) from RVA and this place was a miracle for me. This place will change your life if you're willing and ready to recover. Pros: excellent 1:1 and group therapy; great peer/staff support; caring/concerned staff at ALL levels; chefs put a lot of care into trying to accommodate all clients and the food they provided. Cons: inconsistency in provided info; lack of communication among staff Shout-outs to: Ashley, therapist: created trusting, engaged, safe group Ms. Cathy, nurse: so incredibly caring, concerned and helpful Sam, BHT: super helpful, always made time to listen/accommodate client needs. Justie, group lead: her educational groups were the best! Engaging, fresh topics/materials. Lance, BHT (shorter Lance, sorry!): helped me tremendously one night when I was extremely distressed

Honest rating of overall facility. This place was genuinely a life changer for me, and I could see that in other kids there as well. I loved almost every therapist there, and most of the kids were friendly. I really liked the adolescent room because it was spacious, and it was always clean. The bathrooms never had any paper towels, but other than that the restrooms were very clean. Honestly, I can't ever remember a time that the facility was dirty or cramped. Honest rating on each therapist. Ashley - Ashley is awesome! During my time at Embark, Ashley ran most of our groups. She was so kind, and compassionate. I feel like she genuinely perused this kind of work because it's her passion to help people. She always listened and made sure everybody got a chance to talk. She also is very observant, and checks in if you're not having the best day. Which is really nice sometimes to know somebody notices and cares is comforting. David - David is also a really cool guy. He ran group often. He can be a little bit rough sometimes, but everybody has different ideas on how to do things. For example, if you were sleeping during therapy, he'd bang on the table, which can be a trigger for some people. He can also be a little bit strict sometimes, for example taking the markers, or popsicle sticks that we're aloud to have with every other therapist. From what I heard he does really well as an individual, or family therapist. Overall, I think he genuinely is passionate about his job, is a good person, and cares a lot about the kids even if it might not seem it sometimes. Elvin - Awesome dude! Elvin was genuinely so kind and always energetic. I think he wrote prescription medicine, and if you have any problems with that, he gets it resolved very fast. He only did group sometimes for adolescents when I was there, but when he did an amazing job in my opinion. He's genuinely such a cool dude he will talk to you about literally anything, he's an open book and has some pretty cool stories! Myron - Myron was my individual and family therapist. Genuinely such a cool, funny, nice dude! I really enjoyed my individual therapy sessions with him, and he was the first therapists I felt I ever made progress with. He didn't do group much, so I can't really say if he's good at it, but I'm sure he is! He really cares about his patients. Jamonica - Jamonica was someone who also did groups quite often. Her energy is so great, and she was soooo kind to me while I was there. She's such a sweet person, and you can really tell how passionate about her job she is. I've also heard she's an amazing individual and family therapist. Lauren - I rarely ever talked to her. She rarely did group for the adolescents, but some of the other adolescents said she's an amazing individual therapist. I didn't not talk to her for any specific reason; she just didn't do group much and primarily was in her office. I talked to her maybe once or twice, and when I did, she was nice. Maya - She ran group occasionally and was perfectly fine. She wasn't my personal favorite therapist, but not for any bad reason. I didn't really love the skills she taught, and how she taught them, but nothing against her at all. I'm not sure if she's an individual therapist. Med management (Dr. Hooper) - Dr. Hooper is super friendly, and really good at finding the right medication fits for you. Php meets with her once every week, while Iop meets with her once every 2 weeks. Maria - Maria is also a nice lady. I'm honestly not sure what she does, but when I was enrolling, she did the paperwork and stuff. You will also take outcomes, which ask you questions about how you're dealing with anxiety, depression, etc. She has access to those outcomes, so 100% feel free to ask her to take a look at them! Overall, I think the staff is awesome! Please check bags better, Embark. The bag checking is honestly a joke. There are people who deal with all kinds of things, and not saying anything would happen but please check better just in case. Goodbye, Team Embark, I'll miss you guys!

We have been on a mental health journey with our daughter for quite some time. Nothing ever seemed to click, and past PHP programs caused only more harm and trauma with no healing. Since joining the Embark program we can see glimmers of it working. I know that she feels safe here, and has confidence in her care (as do we). We attended a family night and when they say family they clearly include the caregivers and staff along with the patients and their family. I say this because the whole vibe was joy and love. I couldn't be happier (or more relieved) about our choice.

Sober Living America in Atlanta, Georgia, is committed to helping individuals in the community who are dealing with substance abuse addiction regardless of their financial situation. The center offers assistance to help individuals reach their potential and create happiness outside of substance use. They offer sober and transitional living services
SLA America gives people with an alcohol addiction a place to come that is a little more than a “Rehab”. It offers you a chance to clean your act up within an apartment with roommates who know your struggles! The biggest thing is your desire and determination to make a change in your life. The community of SLA is broad and not isolated to Chattanooga, although this is where my life started over!! This program is not easy, you are not spoon fed but you are assisted in transitioning back to a “normal” life with accountability. It guides you on your path back to your family, your kids, your homes or just the faith that you matter and all addictions are manageable!!

Both David evans and Andres in Jonesboro have been great leaders and excellent role models to me. I graduated last month from this program after doing nine and a half years in high max level five prisons. Where it's stab or be stabbed. Seeing death almost everyday. When nobody would sign my parole papers. Sober living America did. I am grateful to God, Josh, David Evans, Andres, Clement, Greg, and Salvatore for being great leaders and directors. If you are an addict that needs help with recovery. I would highly recommend coming to sober living America in Jonesboro GA. South Atlanta and josh David and Andres will help guide you. With the help of God. I would also like to give a shout out to David and Greg the drivers- for they have the hardest jobs here besides the director David Evans. Thank you all I love you all and Shalom Izzuddin Slaton

Southeast Addiction Center has helped save my life. I'm an older recovering alcoholic. They hold you accountable here with breathalyzer and urinalysis tests five days a week. Their therapists are the best I've ever had. You have group therapy and individual counseling to ensure your mental and spiritual growth. Accommodations are very comfortable and not crowded. If you want to recover successfully, give them a call.

I've been too multiple programs. And I honestly have to say this program went over and beyond in my journey too sobriety. The staff actually cares about your life. Even though I'm a grown man. They held my hand and was with me through every step of the way. And what really caught my attention. Is that the other residents treated me like family from day one. I met some very extraordinary and talented people there. And some friendships that might last a lifetime. And after it was time too go. They made sure that my next phase would safe and secure. I went to Black Bear Lodge back in February. It was one of the best decisions, if not the best, I’ve ever made. It totally changed my life. It helped me get sober and to find my true self after 55 years on earth. The staff were amazing, especially Mrs. Ginger, Mrs. Tiffany and Jim. The RA’s helped me out a lot. Many of them are also in recovery, so they knew where I was coming from. The cabins were excellent and the food was incredible. Let me not forget about the breathtaking Mountain views. I met life long friends while being there and we still encourage each other thru text, phone and social media. I think everyone should go to Black Bear at least once, preferably sooner than later. Even if you don’t have addiction problems. This place will change the way you think and live. Five stars for Black Bear Lodge.
