After 4 or 5 failed attempts to stop abusing alcohol I wound up at MARR. The day after my 50th birthday. I was extremely upset and disappointed with myself. But something told me that I belonged there. And I made the best decision of my life. To stay there.
I stayed for the mandatory 3 months and then an extra four more.
Not only did I learn to stop drinking and live life without alcohol, but I leather be an adult. To ask for help. And most importantly I learned that I was not alone in my life or my journey.
Wonderful place with great staff. You may not know it or believe it but this place is the BEST chance you have at getting sober and learning how to live a good life. Period.

My time at MARR has fundamentally changed my life. I have a strong foundation in sobriety, many coping tools in my toolbox and a large network of sober men and women who I will forever call friends. I especially love the Professionals Program (ARP) where I participated in Mirror Image classes, working with peers who had overcome their addiction and achieved the life I wanted to be living. I really appreciate the workers at this hospital. They are kind, accomodating and respectful. I didn't feel condescended to, nor treated like less of a human being. I felt that the workers set a tone of respect and dignity and support on the unit. The groups were awesome and very well facilitated. I felt like they weren't just there for a paycheck, that they actually cared about doing a good job. I would definitely go back there if I ever need mental health inpatient care.

It was a safe place during my most suicidal years. I really appreciated the ability to isolate in my room, unlike other facilities that lock the rooms during the day. That was a necessity for me as an autistic person, in order to prevent overwhelm and truly feel safe. Therapy groups could be stressful, but I wasn't forced to attend which I really appreciate. When life feels so out of control, small things like that can go a long way

I came to this center after a traumatic experience. These people made me whole again. I cannot say how much this place meant to me the 4 months I was there. Caring nurses, wonderful doctors and a cook who knew how to make hospital food palatable. I cannot recommend this place more!

Purple is an amazing place. This program has helped me completely turn my life around. The staff at Purple is nothing short of fantastic. Everyone there genuinely cares about each and everyones recovery and helps them however they can. The program they run is unlike any other, it's very active and helps guys learn how to have fun sober again. They offer great one on one therapy sessions that are very engaging. If anyone reading this is on the fence about where they should go for their recovery, look no further. This is the place.

Currently changing my life for the better. I am 130 days sober. I extended my stay after checking myself in to Purple (my second rehab). I decided to stay 6 months because after learning how to live sober I started learning how to be a better man, father, partner, and believer. John my therapist helped me so much! Getting me to finally accept my mother’s death was hard, but I finally did get through it because of him! Amazing therapist! I want to add the entire team of BHT’s. They did so much for me! Andrew’s, Thomas, Kendra, Marvala, Sharla, Andre, Joe, Lorenzo, and Erica! My intake was done by Tamara who was also so amazing! Best food I’ve eaten in a while! Shout out to Miss Monica and I hate that I don’t remember the other chef but his food was also so amazing. King Dre! You are the man! All the therapists were also so amazing! Christina’s energy was incredible but scary! Haha. Just kidding. I had the best experience at ADC! If anyone at all is having substance abuse problem? This is definitely the place you want to go to for help to get sober. Everyone is always friendly. Yes I have changed counslers a couple of times but they have all been very friendly, caring and respectful. They are never crowded and you are usually in and out in a timely manner for pick up's.

I had to go to this clinic for over a year and I do not recommend it to anyone. My first counselor left without notice and when was there saw me for maybe a few minutes a months. The second one was possibly worse. When I was moving she didn’t call the clinic to help me get set up and I went 4 days without my medication which I have since been told is dangerous to just stop. I have a job and a life and am trying to do better and that will not happen at this clinic for anyone. They make it impossible for almost everything. They do things at this clinic that are not normal practice and anyone needing real help should go elsewhere.

I have always been treated with respect and have had wonderful care at the Shepherd Center.
Everyone is very knowledgeable and listen to any concerns or questions I may have.
Having PPS it is important to me that most everyone is knowledgeable about Polio and PPS and how it can affect my life.
I love the accessibility at Shepherd and wish everyone would realize how important accessibility is to someone who uses a power chair and everyone who uses other tools for life for their disability.

Honest rating of overall facility.
This place was genuinely a life changer for me, and I could see that in other kids there as well. I loved almost every therapist there, and most of the kids were friendly. I really liked the adolescent room because it was spacious, and it was always clean. The bathrooms never had any paper towels, but other than that the restrooms were very clean. Honestly, I can't ever remember a time that the facility was dirty or cramped.

Ashley - Ashley is awesome! During my time at Embark, Ashley ran most of our groups. She was so kind, and compassionate. I feel like she genuinely perused this kind of work because it's her passion to help people. She always listened and made sure everybody got a chance to talk. She also is very observant, and checks in if you're not having the best day. Which is really nice sometimes to know somebody notices and cares is comforting.
David - David is also a really cool guy. He ran group often. He can be a little bit rough sometimes, but everybody has different ideas on how to do things. For example, if you were sleeping during therapy, he'd bang on the table, which can be a trigger for some people. He can also be a little bit strict sometimes, for example taking the markers, or popsicle sticks that we're aloud to have with every other therapist. From what I heard he does really well as an individual, or family therapist. Overall, I think he genuinely is passionate about his job, is a good person, and cares a lot about the kids even if it might not seem it sometimes.
Elvin - Awesome dude! Elvin was genuinely so kind and always energetic. I think he wrote prescription medicine, and if you have any problems with that, he gets it resolved very fast. He only did group sometimes for adolescents when I was there, but when he did an amazing job in my opinion. He's genuinely such a cool dude he will talk to you about literally anything, he's an open book and has some pretty cool stories!
Myron - Myron was my individual and family therapist. Genuinely such a cool, funny, nice dude! I really enjoyed my individual therapy sessions with him, and he was the first therapists I felt I ever made progress with. He didn't do group much, so I can't really say if he's good at it, but I'm sure he is! He really cares about his patients.
Jamonica - Jamonica was someone who also did groups quite often. Her energy is so great, and she was soooo kind to me while I was there. She's such a sweet person, and you can really tell how passionate about her job she is. I've also heard she's an amazing individual and family therapist.
Lauren - I rarely ever talked to her. She rarely did group for the adolescents, but some of the other adolescents said she's an amazing individual therapist. I didn't not talk to her for any specific reason; she just didn't do group much and primarily was in her office. I talked to her maybe once or twice, and when I did, she was nice.
Maya - She ran group occasionally and was perfectly fine. She wasn't my personal favorite therapist, but not for any bad reason. I didn't really love the skills she taught, and how she taught them, but nothing against her at all. I'm not sure if she's an individual therapist.
Med management (Dr. Hooper) - Dr. Hooper is super friendly, and really good at finding the right medication fits for you. Php meets with her once every week, while Iop meets with her once every 2 weeks.
Maria - Maria is also a nice lady. I'm honestly not sure what she does, but when I was enrolling, she did the paperwork and stuff. You will also take outcomes, which ask you questions about how you're dealing with anxiety, depression, etc. She has access to those outcomes, so 100% feel free to ask her to take a look at them!
Overall, I think the staff is awesome!
Please check bags better, Embark. The bag checking is honestly a joke. There are people who deal with all kinds of things, and not saying anything would happen but please check better just in case.

We have been on a mental health journey with our daughter for quite some time. Nothing ever seemed to click, and past PHP programs caused only more harm and trauma with no healing. Since joining the Embark program we can see glimmers of it working. I know that she feels safe here, and has confidence in her care (as do we). We attended a family night and when they say family they clearly include the caregivers and staff along with the patients and their family. I say this because the whole vibe was joy and love. I couldn't be happier (or more relieved) about our choice.

I celebrated 2 years sober Nov 3rd. The staff are there to help if you willing to work. Facilities are clean and comfortable. They have Dr's and counselors available always.
The food is good. They just need to let guests have better access to food.

I was a patient at Grady Park Place for about 2 years and fortunately able to leave and found another better facility. The proximity to my residence was a plus and they allowed me to see a Dr basically for medication every 3-4 months without also seeing a therapist, which many places require, so I gave Grady Park Place a chance since as a resident of Fulton County why not try it? Everything was ok at first despite the fact that many patients seem bound from courts or the atmosphere is very oppressive, they wand you when you come in. It’s not very inviting. But my psychiatrist put and out accused me in the notes of having “illusions of grandeur” and that I claimed to be educated and wanting to go to law school, seems like a positive goal, correct? I read the appointment notes and emailed Grady about the fact yes I have a master’s and paralegal certificate and why would this ever be questioned? No response. No one to ask about it. Then I took my resume (which states my schooling) and showed to the dr or nurse practitioner who then said I may have just made up a resume. At that I transferred out of Grady Park Place/Grady Health Systems. I was humiliated and distraught and it was not comforting or respectful to be belittled. In my experience it functions like an institution and is very clinical, when it should be a supportive place for any Fulton County resident. I do not recommend.

The Marietta Campus is a very safe environment. The Director Tracie and his guest service Von makes you feel comfortable. They both are caring, supportive, honest, very concerned about everyone. This program is a very good program and to be honest I can go to either one of them if I need someone to talk . They have helped me in many ways . I do not regret coming here.

Im currently a client on methadone that has moved from Ca. to Ga. It was spur of the moment with no time to make arrangements. I spoke with ERIC on Healthqwests csr dept based on New Jersey. Fyi. Ive been in tech supt, customer service, Quality Assurance & M.I.S. For over 30 yrs Ive worn a headset and have been helping customers. Ive ALWAYS gone above and beyond to help, which is why I can say that ERIC assessed my dilemma for what it was and did his best to move Heaven and earth for me to get me the help i needed 2 days ago. He had an entire queue to help and he took my case as personal as was needed to help me. Moving here I have to change my Medicaid to Ga. which is NOT ez or quick. And I, having heart disease and 5 stents in my heart from 2 heart attacks. Short version of of i didn't get help and go into withdrawl the strain on my heart would no doubt KILL me. The man devoted most of his day trying to get my situation straightened out. Im detailing this because I want you to know this was the BEST service ive ever received in my 60 plus years on this planet, and it happened when my literal life was on the line. Healthqwest cant be beat if you want genuine effort with your help. The prices are competitive but you can't go wrong using them.
Ill answer any question or comment too. The medication I take is no joke. I take it for a broken back I got when I was year ended on my motorcycle at a red light. I take it for Pain mgmt.
Its a serious subject and serious things happen with it....and more without it. Id be crippled, so you can see the magnitude of my plight.

So far it has been good I recently transferred in from another clinic they were very helpful the only thing I do not like is all medicaid recipients have to video call daily to take the dose in front of a nurse or else we are not covered by medicaid for that day. Which is a medicaid thing but thats the only difference from my last clinic

Reviewing from a perspective of both personal experience as well as that of a loved one. MARR is an excellent choice for treatment, the staff all competent and qualified. There are doctors and nurses on staff/on site. Everyone works around the clock for the benefit of their residences - there is absolutely no other program that provides as complete of care as MARR does. They offer intensive care through every stage of recovery for each client. There are few other programs that provide extensive, long term, physical and emotional level care, individual and group therapy, teaches applicable life skills as well as drug and alcohol education and support. The people at sunrise probably saved my life. I had been binge drinking and hiding vodka throughout the house for years before I went there. I had gone to many therapists, AA meetings, etc. Everyone there is going through the same struggle and, therefore, no one is judgemental at all. One therapist in particular went above and beyond, and I can't thank him enough. Christian not only took the time to talk to me hours after he was supposed to leave, but he called all of his colleagues to find the perfect fit for me after my detox. I've always been timid talking in groups, but he found a 15 person women's only rehab facility and it was the perfect fit. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Newport is a good place to Detox at. They accept most insurance and can set you up with a bed over the phone. They support MAT but I brought my own supply so I can’t speak on theirs. They gave me a 5 day benzodiazepine taper and vitamins/supplements, along with my normal meds.
The intake process was simple, you get shook down a bit upon entering the clinical area, they look through your things and your person. They do a urine test, TB stick, and take blood on day 2.
I would suggest bringing a weeks worth of clothing, warm stuff, pajamas, house shoes, shower shoes are a must, reading material, writing material, recovery books, you will need an extra pillow or 2, bring your own blanket and basic toiletries-they can supply hygiene items if necessary, cigarettes / tobacco, you can’t bring vapes, no phones.
The bathroom was a lil nasty but the showers were clean and functional as well as private.
The place is a bit dingy and old feeling overall and could use paint and decor. The bedrooms have a window and 2-3 twin beds with divider curtains between each, and 2 nightstands/shelves. You get fresh clean pillow cases, blankets, sheets, towels, washcloth. The beds aren’t great but they’re not the worst I’ve seen. You can come and go from your room to the Dayroom or nurses station as you please. There is a landline phone available during certain hours.
I was there with 5-6 other folks. I had a relapse on stimulants and was admitted a few days after calling. Nurse Ginny spoke to me on the phone and she was very kind and experienced. The nurses were great, Rose was the best. The daytime started with a meal from Piccadilly, these to go plates were so-so. Some were better than others. But the portions were big. You also get a snack every night at night med call.
We would then do groups, they had a good variety. Some were videos some were activity based some writing based, etc. The counselors were all nice people and qualified. The aftercare coordinator Joy that worked with me was super friendly and helpful.
They can also set you up with part time classes to attend on site after you graduate detox, or send you to an inpatient residential treatment center, then halfway house. They’ll take you all the way if you put in the work, they have the connections and knowledge to help people in tons of ways. Take advantage of people like this, they live to help others.
They could use a new DVD player and some DVDs and Blu rays for sure, and art supplies.
Overall it’s a good place to get clean. The intake process was smooth and the place itself was solid, programs and everything. Food, beds, and the paint/decor, as well as the men’s bathroom are my only complaints.
I had a room to myself the whole time I was there, and got a lot of writing and some reading done. Played some cards and watched some movies.
My time there really helped me a lot in my recovery journey. I use Smart Recovery and have gotten deep into the program since leaving detox. They offer AA, NA, and other support groups as well.
If you are battling addicting and need help, reach out, this is a good jumping off point.

My experience with him is not just for mental adjustment. He has shown to be knowledgeable as a physician as well. I thank the Most High for him. Since seeing him I have learned to manage my emotional feelings, and I am more aware of my physical health which had a great impact on my cognitive mindset.
The negative comments that are on here are mind-blowing. But keep in mind, majority of the patients and or guardians of patients seeking help are in a negative space in life anyway. Trying to use negativity to charge your positive seems not to work. When you seek help, submit to what's being put before you and Yah will do the rest to help bring you out.
