About Houston Recovery Center LGC
Houston Recovery Center is located on North Chenevert Street in Houston, Texas. This facility provides behavioral health services to address and treat co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorders among adults. They’re owned and operated by the city of Houston and are located in a two-story office building with ample onsite parking available to you and your family.
They’re also close to I-69 and I-10 providing easy transportation to and from the facility. Nearby you’ll find several restaurants, hotels and retail stores. They are also close to several natural landmarks including Discovery Green, Dalkin Park, Smither Park and the Buffalo Bayou.
Sobering Center with Outpatient Care and Medication Management
They’re primarily a sobering center that’s been in operation since 2013. I think it’s wonderful that the team offers several recovery programs and active intervention therapies that may address your specific levels of treatment and needs. Their sobering center is the second one that was opened in the State of Texas.
PART Program Provides Personal Addiction Support and Peer Support Recovery
I love that they offer a Personal Addiction Recovery Team (PART) that works with each client and a peer recovery support specialist through intensive therapy and 18 months of peer support. They feature community support programs to ensure continual care and support as you journey towards recovery. They also offer transportation services to and from treatment and other community group activities.
Jail In-Reach Program Prepares Inmates for Treatment and Recovery
The staff also partners with the Harris County Sheriff’s office to promote addiction treatment among the incarcerated population. They develop relationships with the prisoners and help them in entering a Partners in Recovery program. They can participate in the program as soon as they begin reentry.
HRC also offers the Texas Targeted Opioid Response (TTOR) program, which provides training in and access to the administration of NARCAN to help in preventing overdosing from opioids. They also offer medication to assist folks who are addicted or experiencing withdrawal from opioids and provide treatment for up to 18 months or as needed.
