No place is perfect. I have been going here for 12 months now and I have been clean for 11months. It tooke a month to get off everything, but I have. It's been wonderful, my family is shocked and so happy how well I am doing. My kids are starting to trust me again. Everyone says I am starting to at like the old me that they haven't seen in a long time. I wish someone would have told me about this sooner. I have had some issues with the drug screens coming back positive 3 times when I have been clean and was not using. One of them got dropped because the confirmation came back negative, so that was great but the other 2 was contaminated because I haven't used one thing since 6/19/23.
This was hard to deal with because How can u fix a drug screen that comes back dirty when u are clean..so I did lose my take homes for a month which sucked. But you know what It's a hell of a lot better then where I was before. I love who I am now I am working really hard on my recovery and just gotta keep doing the right thing even when things don't go ur way. If you want a change it is so able and this place has really saved my life and my relationship with my kids, and family.

Was here multiple times for psych and once for alcoholism. I am above middle class, have a degree, and just have bipolar disorder from genetics. The people complaining don’t know how good it is compared to other facilities. The place is clean, the food is great, and the staff is amazing. Please remember the people reviewing this place have issues and can be handful. Most people who have problems at places like this, unless it is filthy, create their own problems.

Beautiful facility. Friendly staff and counselors. AMAZING food. The only thing negative I would have to say is it’s a very expensive program for just 30 days. This is a great place for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis. The staff is kind, helpful, and understanding. My week here was very healing and I will always be grateful for it.
A few critiques:
1. Care is not very personalized. Your “care team” is a rotating door of therapists, NP’s, and the doctor. They treat the doctor like the Wizard of Oz and it’s really hard to get a straight answer from anyone on the team. I did not receive one-on-one therapy at any point during my 5 nights.
2. Even if you sign in voluntarily, you’re pretty much trapped in there until the Wizard grants you permission to leave. I felt restored and safe after three days and adamantly expressed that to the various members of my “care team.” They say it’s out of their control. This was a problem for me, as each additional day was racking up a very large bill. In order to leave by your own accord, you have to sign a form that negates your health insurance benefits, so it’s not really an option. I understand the risk when dealing with people in crisis, but I was really frustrated by this.
3. Cost. Make sure your insurance is going to cover your stay here. It’s $850/night without insurance and you’ll be forced to stay at least five nights.

I have been inpatient 2 times over the last 4 years for depression and to safely get my medication adjusted. The stigma attached to "psych wards" is just that, a stigma. I have worked in these types of hospitals for 20 years so I know the horror stories that create the stigma and there are several I absolutely believe need to be shutdown but Oakwood Springs is definitely not a part of that stigma. Yes there are a few things I'd suggest changing but that comes from a trained eye but from a patient perspective it isn't a big issue. Overall my stays were great and this is the ONLY hospital I will recommend in the state of Oklahoma. Again I've worked in a few and been inside every single one in the state of Oklahoma during my employment for transports and whatnot...
Taking the first step is very scary but please believe me when I say it will be ok and this is the right place to go to. When you take that first step you need it to be a strong stable foundation and Oakwood Springs is it. Don't let anything keep you from seeking help 💜

I've tried a few methadone clinics, this one is the best I've seen. They do have a few rules that seem rather stupid, but they have gov oversight, so ya have to deal with that kind of BS anywhere you go. They are definitely the nicest and the friendliest out of all the ones T have been to.
Update... the staff that you interact with i.e. the counclers and the nurses are definitely very nice and appear to be honestly intrested in the clients wellbeing, however it took a few months...like 6 or 8 months for the office staff to get my VA insurance worked out and I had to pay cash in the meantime. That was over 2 years ago and they still have not re-embersed a single Penney however I verified with the Va the were paid twice once by me and once by the Va. Should be a law against that sort of thing. I believe it is called fraudulent billing.... If they end up owning you money don't expect to see it soon...however if you owe them and can not pay the will start detoxing you, they did to me when I told them I get paid in 3 days ... they detoxed me for those 3 days. Good luck if you have no other options.

Great place. Great counclers. Clean. They have clean bathrooms. Very friendly staff. They have the new check in mobile system so it saves your spot in line. They are fair. Some of the rules are a little silky but they don't set those, Corporate does. So it's not the staffs fault at this location. They probably saved my life.
