| Shepherds Shelter & Ross Rehab is a faith based, privately owned addiction treatment facility in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. Set on sprawling farmland at the roots of the Appalachian Mountains the facility is surrounded by the tranquility of nature. You’ll find a peaceful, safe haven for your recovery as you live onsite for your treatment. Shepherd | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Hello my name is Michael and I am family. I remember the first time I said this because it is the way we introduce ourselves at shepherds shelter. To be honest I didn't want to say it and didn't believe it. After 26 years of drug abuse I was anything but family by the world's standard I was Labeled as a drug addict junkie, thief, convict, liar, user and a list of names I'd rather not mention. But as I soon learned from pastor " it's not what people call you that matters it's what you answer to" I'm proud to say that today I am 2 1/2yrs sober a man of God because of the love and mercy that was shown to me through all shepherds shelter staff and especially Pastor and momma. Before coming to Shepherds Shelter I spent almost the last 10yrs of my life sleeping on the street. I seen nights I have literally almost froze to death. Spent 10 years in prisons and jails and seen no kind of hope for anything good I soon found myself back in jail , so I begged for rehab. Honestly my intention was just to get out of jail but that all changed in a Saturday night church service as I hit my knees to pray. I didn't pray some fancy prayer or make any deals I simply submitted I told God I don't know what I'm doing I obviously don't know how to live life please show me. Boy was I in for a game changer. The more I leaned into what was being taught there the more I started to see and feel change in my life. I truly became family and was treated as such. The values and morals that have been instilled in me from shepherds shelter have forever changed not only my life but every life I come in contact with. I am no longer that list of terrible names. I am first and foremost a man of God but I am also a husband a father a son a brother a friend and most of all I AM FAMILY AT SHEPHERDS SHELTER. Today I am someone you ministers the gospel and tries to show the same love and mercy I was shown here. I have my own home a beautiful wife and an awesome relationship with my children. Love this place so much!! God knew where I needed to be and right when I needed to be there if it wasn't for Mama and Pastor Wayne I wouldn't still be sober today. I'm going to have 9 years of sobriety on January 6 2025 and couldn't have done it without them an God. They showed me how to be a better person and helped me become a better mother I love them so much thank you for never giving up on me!!

The facility is very clean. I would recommend this clinic and to avoid the Lexington Kentucky Veteran kill center. The only reason one star was removed is because you have to deal with the Lexington call center to make appointments with or talk to anyone about appointments at this clinic. This clinic does not actually answer calls. Your call has to go to an equal opportunity or affirmative action hire in Lexington in order to talk to a human. <<-- However once you get through the Lexington Veterans Kill Centers call service, you might actually get taken care of. Not this clinics fault as once your scheduled they really work their butts off to help you, unlike the Lexington Veterans kill center.

I m not sure if this is the right place to write this review and I truly hope it reaches the L&D staff that helped me.I went in for a BPP & NST on 3/11 due to post dates & baby looked great. I was offered to come back for an induction if I wanted to. My husband and I talked it over and since I was going to risk out for my home birth (again, due to post dates), we decided based on many factors just to be induced. I was very depressed about this decision as my 3rd baby was a very successful home water birth.Anyways, I got to L&D on the night of 3/13 (I was 41+4) and Ginger, who I believe was an OB, allowed me to make the decision of what I wanted to be induced with - cytotec or pitocin. She explained that pit could be controlled so I opted for pit. I was allowed to control how much pit went up or down which helped me feel more comfortable, even though I was reluctant about this induction. The next day, shift change happened and my nurse, Abby, and midwife, Melanie, were with me the whole day. They discussed every thought they had, allowed me to make informed decisions, discuss them with my husband etc. I was able to discuss what I wanted and didn t want when I actually pushed my baby out - no coached pushing, no purple pushing, don t wipe off baby or take him from me, etc. Ultimately, I felt in total control of my birth, despite being in a hospital. When transition hit (this all came from my husband as I mentally was on another planet due to not having an epidural or any pain medication), Melanie checked in on me several times and was quick to notice when I was pushing, even though I wasn t intentionally trying to. She knew when she needed to be there and be ready as my baby was being born. My husband said he was very impressed. Melanie let me birth my baby on hands & knees, respected my want for immediate skin to skin and delayed cord clamping. When I felt the need for my placenta to come out, Melanie was right there, ready and waiting. I m unsure of the night nurses name, but she was extremely helpful in watching me and making sure I had what I needed and that I was ok.Due to staff letting me go without pain meds, laboring how I wanted to, showering/being in hot water when I wanted to, letting me listen to my body, and overall giving me my physiological birth experience, I did not tear. This was a huge fear of mine and I appreciate staff so much for allowing me to do what I wanted to do.Honestly, I wish ALL of moms who have to or need hospital births, are able to get the experience that I got when I was at L&D. It s such a vulnerable time for a mother and least interventions in a hospital is 100% the way to go, especially when you have staff that actually listens to you.I really hope Melanie and Abby see this review, as well as the student OB that was in the room that day. I hope I was able to show them all a physiological birth experience. I hope they all know how much I truly appreciate them for letting me do what I needed and wanted to do and actually listening to me throughout the entire process. This experience was my 4th baby (biggest baby at 8.5lbs and longest labor at 25hrs!), and if I ever have another baby, I hope I can have Melanie as my midwife, Abby as my nurse, and have the same exact experience all over again.Also- thank you to all the other nurses, techs, and everyone else that came into my room, for always asking my husband if he needed anything while we were there too. He felt very included and I m so happy he felt that way. The hospital even fed him each meal too! He didn t have to leave once to bring us food, which I also appreciate.Thank you ladies so much for everything you did for me, my husband and our baby!

I have nothing but praise for LAC and the staff that make up the backbone of their approach to, not only substation use disorders, but also mental health.
Sadly, this was not my first time around in rehab. That being said, this place is different. The program is incredibly solid and geared towards lifelong growth. They are willing to work with you to get you the treatment you need. The staff are amazing. Compassionate, extremely knowledgeable in both the scholarly and the nuanced personal subtleties that drive addiction.
And they care. Truly care!
I don't know one of them who wouldn't go out of their way to make something happen for you as long as you were willing to work for it with them.
I've completed both the PHP & IOP programs and wouldn't hesitate to send anyone here who needed help.
I appreciate everything they have done for me.

I was a client at Lexington Addiction Center for a month of PHP. My experience with LAC was tremendous. They helped me get back on my feet after a relapse and provided me with care that I’ve not experienced in any other treatment setting. The clinicians, TCM, medical staff and techs were all very helpful throughout my experience. This team is really about loving people back to life and it shows as soon as you step inside and are greeted by tons of smiling faces from staff and clients alike. I have never felt as confident in my ability to maintain a healthy life of sobriety as I do now from completing this program. Thank you LAC!

I was admitted to The Chrysalis House in August 2019. I gave birth to my daughter while in treatment. I gained all of the skills and therapy I needed to sustain my recovery. I graduated in February 2020. I have full custody of all three of my children, I have a full time career as a recovery coach where I live now, I attend school full time as a Social Work major, and I am closing on my first home in 11 days. I was able to go from homeless to homeowner with the education I gained through this program. I'm able to be a mother, a student, and an employee rather than a hopeless addict that arrived at their door with two dollar general bags of clothes and hygiene products. I would recommend this program to any mother struggling with addiction. The chrysalis house saved my life and I am incredibly grateful for the healing I received from such a nurturing environment. YOUR LIFE MATTERS!
Melissa Fuston

Absolutely the best choice I ever made for myself. I entered the program in June 2008 graduated August 2009. The transformation my life as well as myself underwent during this period was in short the most profound experience I've ever known. Chrysalis gave me a strong foundation and support that provided a safety net in the event I began to self sabotage all I'd worked so very hard to achieve. What this program offers goes beyond treatment if you're in danger of losing your children they fight with and for you to be with your children and don't stop until you have them there in the program with you. They provide housing, job club, an abundance of resources that are available for just about anything and everything. It doesn't mater who you are, where you're from or how much or how little you have. If you want help with addiction this is the place to help you.
