| Shepherds Shelter & Ross Rehab is a faith based, privately owned addiction treatment facility in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. Set on sprawling farmland at the roots of the Appalachian Mountains the facility is surrounded by the tranquility of nature. You’ll find a peaceful, safe haven for your recovery as you live onsite for your treatment. Shepherd | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Hello my name is Michael and I am family. I remember the first time I said this because it is the way we introduce ourselves at shepherds shelter. To be honest I didn't want to say it and didn't believe it. After 26 years of drug abuse I was anything but family by the world's standard I was Labeled as a drug addict junkie, thief, convict, liar, user and a list of names I'd rather not mention. But as I soon learned from pastor " it's not what people call you that matters it's what you answer to" I'm proud to say that today I am 2 1/2yrs sober a man of God because of the love and mercy that was shown to me through all shepherds shelter staff and especially Pastor and momma. Before coming to Shepherds Shelter I spent almost the last 10yrs of my life sleeping on the street. I seen nights I have literally almost froze to death. Spent 10 years in prisons and jails and seen no kind of hope for anything good I soon found myself back in jail , so I begged for rehab. Honestly my intention was just to get out of jail but that all changed in a Saturday night church service as I hit my knees to pray. I didn't pray some fancy prayer or make any deals I simply submitted I told God I don't know what I'm doing I obviously don't know how to live life please show me. Boy was I in for a game changer. The more I leaned into what was being taught there the more I started to see and feel change in my life. I truly became family and was treated as such. The values and morals that have been instilled in me from shepherds shelter have forever changed not only my life but every life I come in contact with. I am no longer that list of terrible names. I am first and foremost a man of God but I am also a husband a father a son a brother a friend and most of all I AM FAMILY AT SHEPHERDS SHELTER. Today I am someone you ministers the gospel and tries to show the same love and mercy I was shown here. I have my own home a beautiful wife and an awesome relationship with my children. They showed me how to be a better person and helped me become a better mother I love them so much thank you for never giving up on me!!

I was admitted to The Chrysalis House in August 2019. I gave birth to my daughter while in treatment. I gained all of the skills and therapy I needed to sustain my recovery. I graduated in February 2020. I have full custody of all three of my children, I have a full time career as a recovery coach where I live now, I attend school full time as a Social Work major, and I am closing on my first home in 11 days. I was able to go from homeless to homeowner with the education I gained through this program. I'm able to be a mother, a student, and an employee rather than a hopeless addict that arrived at their door with two dollar general bags of clothes and hygiene products. I would recommend this program to any mother struggling with addiction. The chrysalis house saved my life and I am incredibly grateful for the healing I received from such a nurturing environment. YOUR LIFE MATTERS!

Absolutely the best choice I ever made for myself. I entered the program in June 2008 graduated August 2009. The transformation my life as well as myself underwent during this period was in short the most profound experience I've ever known. Chrysalis gave me a strong foundation and support that provided a safety net in the event I began to self sabotage all I'd worked so very hard to achieve. What this program offers goes beyond treatment if you're in danger of losing your children they fight with and for you to be with your children and don't stop until you have them there in the program with you. They provide housing, job club, an abundance of resources that are available for just about anything and everything. It doesn't mater who you are, where you're from or how much or how little you have. If you want help with addiction this is the place to help you.

I am so incredibly grateful for my time at the Ridge! I want to clarify, though, that it wasn't the Ridge itself that helped me. It was solely 100% my group/recovery therapist, Amanda. There aren't any words I can type that could even begin to describe just how gifted and wonderful Amanda is as a therapist. As an adult in my 30s who has been battling many mental illnesses since childhood, I am no stranger to 1:1 therapy, group therapy, IOP, ect, and in all my years in & out of various treatments, I have NEVER met anyone like Amanda! Her approaches to therapy and recovery are so helpful for life outside of treatment. She provides lifelong skills and tools to help each and every patient to navigate and healthily cope with their symptoms in the "real world." Amanda is 100% empathetic and sincere to each and every one of her patients. She TAKES THE TIME to HEAR US, not just listen to us. And because she genuinely cares, she REMEMBERS what her patients tell here and she ALWAYS is willing to go above and beyond for any one of her patients. She has done so for me more than once and I have seen first hand her do the same for many others. I could attempt to write a novel-length review about my recovery in Amanda's group & it still won't do the actual experience any justice. Being a behavioral therapist was certainly Amanda's calling in life and I can never thank her enough for all she has done for me in the short 5 or 6 weeks I was in the program. And while I cannot speak for any of the drug rehab groups since I was only in a mental health group, I can at least assure you that every singe group is very welcoming, regardless. Any time I would pass by another classroom, I'd see groups working together in various ways, working on their treatment goals and everyone was always calm, respectful, and kind. Now I'm not saying that treatment and recovery at the Ridge is easy or one big, chill party to just pass time until graduation. It takes work. HARD work to recover and learn to implement all of the skills and tools provided at the Ridge. What you put in is truly what you get bac. With that being said, don't be afraid to vulnerable. Of course, way easier said than done, but I promise, you are safe at the Ridge. Especially safe if you are in Amanda's group. Staff will work with you to the absolute best of their abilities to provide you with the greatest care.My only major complaint that truly upsets and angers me is that The Ridge does not allow its group therapists to also provide 1:1 therapy for their patients (something that many other centers do allow). Meaning that, once a patient graduates group therapy, they must continue 1:1 therapy elsewhere, which sucks! I have yet to begin 1:1 therapy, because I don't believe I will find another therapist as wonderful as Amanda. The other issues you may encounter are it the financial department. They are a bit of a hot mess! During treatment, I was told everything was 100% covered, then told nothing at all was covered and I owed 100% of every bill, then as told I only owed the copays, and yet again told I owed 1000s so that part certainly needs improvement, but actual treatment is 5/5 stars, so don't fret any possible financial issues! They will eventually get sorted!THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING AMANDA! YOU HELPED SAVE MY LIFE!

I would 100% recommend Bluegrass Care & Rehabilitation (BCR) for your loved ones, because of their excellent care and compassion for residents.10 years ago, mom required intense, rehabilitation, and long-term nursing care. She became a resident at BCR. Four years later, dad required the same intense care needs. BCR welcomed him as a resident and allowed mom and dad to live together in the same room. Together again, they thrived from the excellent care received from BCR. In addition to the outstanding care Mom and Dad received BCR makes the Family members feel included, keeping us updated and answering our questions and concerns. I would, and do, recommend Bluegrass Care & Rehabilitation for any rehabilitation care or long-term nursing care for you or your family.

I will stick with this facility for the remainder of my sobriety journey. This place is amazing. If you want to be treated like a human come to the Lexington location of second chance. Tabitha , and Lindsay are two of my favorites they are very professional while making you feel welcome, and like a person instead of a junkie. I will never go to Somerset again. It s worth the drive for the hospitality!!!

Landmark has been amazing for my husband. It has helped him with not only addiction but communication as well as talking through issues in the past that he did not realize even affected him. He has been able to put things behind him and move forward with situations that he realizes only harms himself or his family. He puts the things that are important to him first rather than the things other people find important for him. It has been a great expierance for him. I am thankful for what they have done for him as well as the amazing progress he has made and I am so proud of him.
