Shelley Center staff helped me work on fear and they went above and beyond to make sure I loved myself again. They went as far as to buy me my prosthetics so I could start loving myself again and feeling like a normal human being. They're not just an organization, they're a family. I am very grateful they helped me get a second chance because without them I would hate to think where I would be now. I learned so much while I was there and each and every staff member were there to help me. It has a very positive and uplifting atmosphere. Since I have returned home I am still doing great. I live one day at a time and I use everything I learned there to help with my sobriety. I found AA/NA meetings to go to. I want to thank you all for my second chance at life and I love all of you. From the moment I got here, the staff were super accommodating and helpful with my needs all the way from detox to programming and therapeutic needs. They were friendly and the services were plentiful. The food was great and I love the therapeutic rehabilitative environment they provided. I have used alcohol and drugs the past 45 years of my life trying to stop on my own lots of times but couldn't do it. When I walked through the doors I was amazed by the staff how they welcomed me. Now 8 months later after they literally loved me back to life I am proud to say that I am sober which my family thought would be impossible and very proud to be a staff member and will graduate in June of the long term program. I found God there which I had never had in my life and the tools they gave me and God's blessings I am alive now and the happiest that I have ever been in my life. Most of the staff is new which is a really good thing. I can tell they actually care about me and its not just a job for them. There for a while they had me talking to people on a computer which yeh that did kinda suck not to be able to talk to someone in person, but now they have people in person that I get to talk to. I really enjoy that. I think they still have some on the computer but I think its just on certain days. The groups are really fun too and Im learning more about myself then I used to. Bottom line is if u wanna go somewhere where people care about you and will help you get the help that you are ready to get then go here. I will keep going back because I want to keep growing in my recovery and the people there now will help you with that. They did not tell me to write this specifically however the staff watched as I typed. I was given a phone to place a review on their page as part of my discharge. EVERY client is asked to do this as it exponentially increases their chances of good reviews and gives them digital visibility (very clever). It’s definitely the nicest rehab in KY but when I needed help the most…) BEWARE unless you pay 30k or have commercial insurance you cannot be seen. No riff raff allowed. If you want to get sober go to the Healing Place. They allow mental health meds and MAT now if you need it. There are varying program lengths and housing options depending on your situation. They will love you back to life and you can gain humility! (Core principle of a 12 step program they teach.) The healing place is free and I know many people lost their coverage this year due to the political climate. I would not recommend RAC. KY has some great treatment centers and 99.9% of the time treatment AND sober living is necessary but treatment doesn’t keep you sober. Nor will a 30k massage and great kitchen staff - which they are - if you are gonna drop that much money I would go to Cumberland Heights or the Bluffs. QUALITY healthcare services should be accessible to everyone. Not just the rich and you shouldn’t have to go into debt. This is life and unfortunately death. But hey, what do I know? All of the staff really cares about you and your recovery, like all rehabs there are some. Rules and structure that not all clients will agree with. But it's just how it goes, they are very simple. Rules. They feed you well while there too. And the case manager is amazing, she helped me out big time with some court stuff that I was dealing with. It's also a smaller more intimate setting. Not one of these massive rehabs where you can't learn anything or get individualized treatment from a therapist. I have been stuck in the never ending cycle of treatment for six years now. I have been to countless places that baby you and coddle you to death and focus on teaching people how to simply think better but never focus on the application of new behavior. Luckily, Liberty Ranch is much more focused on teaching people how to actually act better. If you want to turn your life around for good come to The Liberty Ranch and they will be your best bet to making a life long change. I am a year sober and have found some serenity and joy in life I believe that is in big part due to The Ranch and the people that run it. It is different than your average "cookie cutter" treatment. They deal with the real underlying issues and character defects that keep us in relapse mode. The property is beautiful and there are dogs there for that extra love and support! Highly recommend this place if you are serious about your sobriety.
