Watching a loved one struggle as many in my family has, is heartbreaking. Michael is a miracle & God has put the right people in his path. People that didn’t discard him for his struggle, but people that shined the light of Jesus so bright that showed him the way. I am so thankful for the love of Christ this place has illuminated. Were there some bumps on the road yes. Were there times I wanted to run home yes (I actually tried and didn't make it far) but at the same time nothing that you could go through there was any worse that being home in fact I think I maybe wouldn't be here today if not for good Ole dessie. I met some of the best people in my life here. I had some really good experiences. I finished high-school I am 29 and am married with 3 kids and a homeowner. I can honestly say none of those things would be true if not for them. I actually am a 2 timer I went for 6 months when I was 15 and it wasn't long enough. Got home and didn't make it 3 months had to come right back. Well anyway I guess my point is you don't make it there by accident or by bad luck and there are a thousand worse places they could send you I promise you. Besides the scenic location and the beautiful, clean house, the staff are incredible. They're awesome. They are life savers. He is the de facto spiritual leader and I thank God that I have had the oppurtunity to learn from his demonstration. Ashleigh (therapist) has extensive experience of staying clean no matter what and transforming her life into something beautiful. She radiates that. I wish we all would see Rich (administrator) more as he is a spiritual master. Incredibley accessible spiritual wisdom he has. He can make difficult concepts about recovery easily digestible. Chris J (head supervisor) can make even the most desperate addict smile and want to take recovery serious. You cant help but know he understands the worst of the worst and doesnt judge. He just wants us all to recover. The recovery coaches are personable, friendly and funny but also hold us accountable and guide us in our recovery through their own experience. The therapists are probably the best part about the place, but all of the staff genuinely want to help you. It's in a very secluded place so it's nearly impossible to leave to use. Unlike most other places it's a big mansion with half the people upstairs and half downstairs. I stayed upstairs and the A/C was almost too good in the summer. It probably stayed 62 degrees up there.
