About New Vision – Knox Community Hospital

New Vision’s Knox Community Hospital features inpatient medical stabilization for adults 18+ who are experiencing withdrawal from drugs, alcohol or other substances. They’re located on Coshocton Avenue in Mount Vernon, Ohio.

Comprehensive Pre-Screening Services for Addiction

New Vision provides comprehensive pre-screening services for addictions to opioids, alcohol, cocaine, benzodiazepines and other combined substances. This is followed by an individualized treatment plan provided in a confidential and structured setting.

Inpatient Stabilization via Onsite Hospital Setting

Inpatient medical stabilization is handled in New Knox, a hospital setting, under direct supervision of licensed nurses and doctors, with a typical 72-hour stay. Any adult who may be experiencing withdrawal from drugs and alcohol may be a good candidate for treatment.

Medically-supervised hospital stays for detox provide assessment, stabilization, and discharge planning for ongoing care. They also offer care coordination and referral to further treatment after discharge. I find it good to know, however, that continued recovery support is not provided directly by New Vision but is coordinated for you.

Payments accepted for your services include Medicare and Medicaid, a variety of commercial insurance plans, and options for uninsured individuals. Guidance and support is available to you to help you verify your specific coverage.

I’m encouraged to learn that treatment is non-judgmental and confidential, and led by a team of physicians, nurses and intake coordinators. They also admit patients, when necessary, directly from emergency departments, primary care or self-referral. In addition, discharge planning and cooperation with community resources is a core part of their model, ensuring your continuity of care post-discharge.

Knox Community Hospital provides a nearby calming and supportive environment including Ariel-Foundation Park, a large scenic park known for walking trails and open spaces. You can also visit the historic downtown Mount Vernon area’s small-town atmosphere that may be supporting outpatient recovery or family visits.

Levels of Care

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

No one should EVER go to this place. After we drove an hour to get there, they decided they weren't keeping my sister. But worse than that, after they told us, they walked out, leaving us with no other resources. Chris, who was always the one on the phone, never spoke to us the entire time we were there, and his young coworker was very patronizing. Fortunately, the hospital security officers, Jory and his partner helped us get to a patient advocate, but Chris and his coworker still acted the same and we left with no help and no resources. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME
