I have lived in Gambier for about a month and needed to find a psychiatrist to help me with my meds and possibly switch meds. I called Anew several times and left messages and had no response. I called Dr. Patel's office and I guess he was out of office until March.
I am relatively new to receiving "mental health services" and was getting worried that I would run out of my medicine and have withdrawal.
Dr. Patel's receptionist recommended Anew and BHP on mulberry.
I went ahead and stopped over at BHP to see if I could set up an appointment to get help. They literally did my intake then and there (11am)and told me I could get an appointment at 2:30 the SAME DAY!!!! when I went to my appt j talked to Tara over a telehealth computer. It was a little uncomfortable but she was very direct (remember they want to help you and there are only so many minutes so you need to stay focused on the questions they ask)
She told me that I needed to stop the medication I was on because I was overprescribed and it was hurting me (I was manic and all over the place and couldn't sleep well at night )
I kinda knew that themedicine wasnt helping (I was on it for 3 months) .
Tara told me there was absolutely no judgement for the state I was in and that she was proud of me to come in and get help.
I picked up my new prescription. The NEXT DAY and OMG I slept like a baby last night and I have my apetite back!!! I am so grateful for this place!!!
I just feel like they really care and want their patients to get the help they need, and in a urgent fashion.

Mount Vernon, OH | The Village Network in Mount Vernon, Ohio, is a nonprofit behavioral health program offering residential treatment and treatment foster care for youth with complex trauma, behavioral health needs and co occurring concerns. Serving male and female youth ages 10 years to 21 years, the Mount Vernon location provides short term residential care, emer | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I was released from this facility just last month and I say with all my heart that with my 10 years with therapy and mental health treatment, that this is the best facility I’ve ever been to. It was a lot bouncing place to place as I am just a 15 year old with little to no support. The majority of staff here were extremely supportive and caring, always willing and trying to help me when I wasn’t at my best or when I would shut down. Though I will say that sometimes the staff do choose favorites but that only depends on behavior. I was a very quiet and respectful kid and I would like to think most staff enjoyed my presence as much as I enjoyed theirs. The staff always go out of their ways to do things to make the kids happy even when they shouldn’t. People will say that this place treats the kids poorly when all they do is their job. Yes, staff will be firm with you and make you do things but that’s apart of your treatment. When I was discharged last month I received a package with the medications that was left behind and it came with a note from the front desk staff stating how she appreciated my kindness and generosity. You will be treated with nothing but kindness from staff like Mrs. Heidi, Miss Tay, Miss Michelle (all michelles), Miss Lindsey, Mr. Joey, Mr. Derek, and just a couple more that I specifically look up to as if they were there for me my entire life. I’ve never been to a facility that has treated me with such kindness and support. Most places including short term always treat you like you’re just a visitor. In and out. Even if your stay here is short, it’s like you’re a part of the family you never had. The family you never asked for but you’re so grateful to have.
I absolutely recommend considering this facility for your child’s treatment. No one believed me or my mother when she said something was wrong with me. My mother believed I had autism and when she expressed it toy therapist, my therapist referred us to the best neurologist in the country and I was officially diagnosed with Autism as well as other things that I wouldn’t have succeeded without the diagnosis and the accommodations. I am SO grateful for everyone here and I enjoyed my stay as much as as I say I didn’t like it. There will always be some downs to this place but that proves no one is perfect. The kids will definitely start drama but you kinda get used to it and it’s just very chill when everything is just adjusted to. Yes there will be people your child won’t like, but that is everywhere you go. Do not remove them from this place unless it is absolutely necessary. I thank the staff and network with all my heart and being. I would never be where I am now without their help. I’ve improved SO much from what I was before and I’ve grown to accept that. <33

New Beginnings is a great residential treatment facility I've ever been in. This facility is very structured for those who truly want to give up drugs and or alcohol, and deal with their mental health issues as well. The staff is very compassionate and very helpful to all their clients. The clients are assigned in facility chores such as cooking and cleaning, after being promoted up in the program, the clients are allowed to apply for a job within the programs vocational/employment department here you able to earn a income while continuing your treatment in order for you to have monies soon that you can obtain housing, transportation and anything else you may need upon completion on the program. There are three phases in the program, you start off as a phase 0 within a two week period and you have met all the program requirements such as (program group meetings which consist of 5 to 6 meetings M-F starting at 8:30 am with the last meeting at night at 8 pm, please understand that there are breaks as well as a lunch and dinner in between these meetings. Any yes, there are meetings on Saturday and Sunday as well, not as many as during the week). New Beginnings has three separate housing facilities; Withdraw Management Facility, this unit is designed to help prepare the clients in the first seven to eight days to withdraw from the illegal substances that may be in their system, get them on any medication that is needed for them; the other two facilities is one for men and the other for women. The women facility has the same substance abuse and mental health programs as the men's facility. One thing about all of the units, a client is not locked in, a client has a choice to either stay or leave the facility at any time. The decision to receive help for the addiction/mental health problems is totally up to the client. New Beginnings has outside speakers who have been sober for years, that comes into the facility and teach the clients the way to recovery and sobriety.

Everything has been good so far especially my therapist, Mitch. I absolutely adore him. Only complaint I have is one of the front desk personnel I only talk to regarding appointments. She gets snippy and has the "know it all" like attitude with me when she had no clue what she was talking about one day and it really rubbed me the wrong way..this is a me tal health facility; treats others like that definitely is not appropriate anywhere but especially in a place like this is just ridiculous.
