The only thing I would suggest they work on is the staffs/secretaries sense of urgency. You can be standing for 10 min to sign in & they will just stare at you. If not I would of rated 5 stars. The psychiatrists & psychologists care about their patients. They follow up with you and if you any concerns or questions you can call them & speak directly. If you get a voicemail just leave a message and the doctors willl definitely speak with you.

Flushing, New York | The Child Center of NY – Flushing High School is a community school program based in Flushing, New York. Teenagers here receive quality education and various extended learning opportunities. The Child Center of NY partnered with FHS to provide on-site school-based mental health services. This allows children to receive mental and behavioral heal | Treatments Payment Options | I have gone through my freshman year in this school. And honestly I can say it's a good school. It's not like how people put it to be a very bad school. You just have to know who to be friends with and who you should not be friends with. But the student at the school is very welcoming and really nice to each other. Also the teachers are very good to the students. My year spent at flushing at first I wanted to transfer but now having to get a offer from Cardozo I can't seem to accept to transfer anymore. I have been welcomed and the people in the school and my friends have created a family there. So it's not as bad as others put it. It depends on you taste in school. I only gave it four stars due to the fact that some teacher such as the science department this year for freshman does not really know how to teach a way for the students to understand. But other than that it's a very good school. If your not very picky and know what your goals are when going to highschool coming to flushing will not be a problem. But some of the kids too are bad and the time they let us out is too late for my home distance.

I moved here 4.5 years ago after a horrific car accident. The staff has been very accommodating. Everyone has gone above and beyond to help get me back in shape. They helped me get the medication that I needed, and thankfully that made me feel much better. The staff has been awesome with helping me manage this pain. We have a new recreation director named Matt who runs some very fun activities. The recreation assistant Sammi is also a great addition. The recreation department has had some amazing developments. I recently went to go see an off-Broadway play. I am so grateful to have seen this play. With the pain I have dealt with, I did not think I would ever be able to experience anything like this. These trips help keep me happy and energized. I'm looking forward to seeing another play next month. In the time that I have lived here, they continue to make great improvements to the building. After 4 years of living here, I am glad to call Sanford Manor my home and very happy to be here.

As a resident, I find Sanford Manor a home in which all my needs are met. Medication is supplied, we have doctors on site, we have therapy and mental health services. I love spending time in the recreation room- we always have a variety of fun activities that take place. I especially love book club which meets twice a week! The counseling service has been a great resource to me. We have home health aids to check up on us. We are also lucky to have a housekeeping staff to keep everything tidy! My clothes are washed for me, and I get clean, fresh bedding every week. The free Wi-fi is also a plus! Located in the vibrant neighborhood of Downtown Flushing, we are in walking distance of a variety of businesses, restaurants, and parks. Only steps away from the 7 train and major bus routes. I am very happy at Sanford and very grateful to be a member of this wonderful community.

Serenity at Summit provided my son with exceptional care from the moment we made the first call. I was relieved that my insurance was accepted, but even more relieved when my son was assigned to his counselor, Sean. From the very beginning, I felt confident that my son was in the right place and working with the right person.
Sean kept me informed of every major development, whether positive or challenging. He communicated clearly, consistently, and with genuine concern for my son’s well being. When my son wanted to give up, which happened more than once, it was Sean’s dedication, patience, and steady guidance that kept him grounded. He supported my son through some very difficult moments and helped him stay committed to the program when he felt like walking away.
What impressed me most was that Sean never pushed my son to make decisions for anyone else not for me, not for him, not for the program. Instead, he helped my son understand that recovery only works when you choose it for yourself. That shift in mindset was transformative, and it happened because Sean knew how to reach him, speak to him, and guide him without judgment.
It is rare to find someone with this level of compassion and dedication for people they do not know personally. Sean’s own experience and journey make him a powerful example of what is possible. You cannot teach that kind of empathy. It comes from lived experience, resilience, and a genuine desire to help others out of the same darkness he fought his way through.
In my opinion, Sean is nothing short of a blessing for individuals and families facing the challenges of addiction. My son stayed, listened, and moved forward because of the support he received, and for that I am deeply grateful. Serenity at Summit is fortunate to have him, and so were we.

This hospital's greatest strength is its comforting, chapel-like atmosphere. Beyond the medical team, the genuine consideration shown by the staff truly stands out. This high level of service made me feel more like a guest at a luxury hotel than a patient. The most memorable moment of kindness came from an employee taking out the trash, who greeted me with an incredibly warm and gentle smile.
However, I was disappointed to see people smoking in the outdoor areas, such as while waiting for valet or walking to the parking lot, with no one intervening.

I am and will forever be so grateful to this place and its staff. I feel I’ve learned so much about myself and now have a good awareness of why I’ve felt the way I have my whole life, so irritable and disconnected from the world. Turning point as well as life in general is what you make of it, I’ve been fighting with drug addiction for 20yrs and could never understand why no matter how successful I would get on the outside I would always turn back to drugs in the end. I finally came to understand that for me it had to be addressed on the inside, I had to open up about everything I’ve ever been through whether I thought it was relevant or not to my addiction. I’m so grateful that I’ve finally surrendered to this process, learned how to accept my past, help, and that this is a life long process that is well worth the effort. Straight & Narrow is not perfect, but neither is anyone. They have they're flaws and imperfections just like I do. If the place was absolutely perfect people would find something to complain about. It's just how it goes. I had a warm bed, hot food, and although the groups were limited, it was my choice to attend more than I was scheduled to go to. So that's what I did. People complained about group time and then complained about down time because they were bored.. I guess it's a journey that is decided individually. I opted to go to every group everyday and every opportunity I had I would volunteer for things to do to help. I was rarely bored and always looked forward to the weekdays rather than weekends because I liked the groups. They didn't keep me longer than originally discussed when I arrived as others were saying. But then again, maybe others didn't participate to their potential or maybe others didn't take the initiative to show their counselors what their intentions were. Some people want to get better and some people are court ordered to be there. The. Some, like me, were court ordered but wanted to get better. I completed a relapse prevention plan to present to my counselor and constantly asked her for more work books to better myself so she knew my intention was authentic. I guess I just felt that it was important for me to clarify my experience there because nobody pointed out anything positive, here's something. THE PLACE GAVE YOU ANOTHER CHANCE AT LIFE, IF YOU DONT TAKE IT AND IMMERSE YOURSELF INTO YOUR RECOVERY, YOUR DOOMED TO REPEAT HISTORY. The only shot we have is inside of us, the four walls doesn't mean a whole lot. it's your personal motivation.. Ask yourself what you want more and why. Thank you straight & narrow for the opportunity to take advantage of your program and I couldn't be more pleased with the majority of the staff. My counselor, Emily, was a super helpful person and important role in my early recovery. She challenged my answers, which I respect, and she also made me be accountable for my own recovery. She Cares, that's ultimately how I feel about her and I can't thank her enough. I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants recovery and isn't worried more about the color of the paint or what mattress they have, that person probably doesn't want recovery to begin with....

I would recommend Avenues to anyone trying to get the help they need. The staff there is caring compassionate and go out of their way to help you. They understand and most are in recovery their selves. Your personal counselor is always there if you need them.
The detox period makes sure your comfortable for the worse part of getting clean. And after care is exciting. Avenues plans activities for all graduates so we can have an amazing time with other sober people.
But for me the most important part was having an outlet for what was going on internally. Your able to go to the gym daily. Also being in the woods means you can walk around and have that time to process and think.
The food is on point, Rick and Barbra the culinary team really make great meals.
Really great starting experience for the next chapter of your life!
