About Newness of Life Huntington WV
Newness of Life, located in Huntington, West Virginia, is a therapeutic, peer supported community for men. Huntington is located along the Ohio River, bordering Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. This setting offers scenic areas that can be inviting for reflection and connecting with nature, which can be helpful while you’re processing recovery treatment.
Faith Based Approach
This community believes that drugs and alcohol are a symptom of underlying mental health conditions. They use a Biblical worldview to invest in you, helping you find a new way of living life sober and substance free. They are fully self-supporting and do not receive funding outside of their fees, family sponsorship and donations.
Your goal during your stay is to achieve complete and consistent sobriety while obtaining gainful employment and establishing or re-establishing a healthy relationship with your family. They work with men who have arrived through drug court, parole or probation, who are homeless, veterans, or receiving SSI and disability.
Highly Structured and Safe Environment
The home has rules and regulations that must be followed or you will be immediately discharged. If you’re found using drugs or alcohol, you’ll be discharged for at least 72 hours and must have a clear drug screen to be readmitted.
Any violence or threats of intimidation will result in immediate discharge, and you can only be readmitted after six months. You must actively work a local 12 Step program, have a sponsor and attend 90 meetings in 90 days.
Residents must also be employed or actively seeking employment. Each of the staff members is also employed outside the residence, modeling the importance of investing in your future. They are certified by the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences, demonstrating the facility’s ability to ensure you are living in a safe and drug-free environment.

Other Forms of Payment
Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.
Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.
