About Santa Clarita Valley Central Office of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) – Ruether Ave
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a 12-Step program of recovery that aims to help individuals to overcome substance use disorders. AA’s program of recovery includes attending regular recovery meetings with other members, working through the 12-Step program with a sponsor, and being of service to others.
Anyone can attend AA. The only requirement is a desire to stop using substances. Meetings are available globally. In Santa Clarita, you can find AA meetings throughout the day, seven days per week.
Peer support programs are offered by individuals who have personal experience with substance use disorder and recovery. In order to qualify to provide peer services, each peer must attend a state-certified training program and then be credentialed by the state. Peers can support individuals to make a recovery plan, access resources, and cheerlead individuals to achieve their goals.
As a free service, AA is funded through voluntary member contributions. However, if you are referred to additional services, they may accept a variety of insurance plans, such as Cigna, Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Amerigroup, Ambetter, United Healthcare, and more. Insurance plans vary, so be sure to verify coverage information and out of network benefits with the insurer.

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
