I was actually excited to come back to this clinic, before things went great, but as a transfer patient, I got the feeling that there’s a level of “screw you” attitude when it comes to not telling patients what’s happening with THEIR treatment or what to expect the following visit. You’re doing it anyways either way so you don’t need to know that even after your four hour plus enrollment date, when you come back, two days later, you’re gonna have another two hours waiting to see the doctor which I’ve NEVER had that happen before and I’ve been in many treatments before, even this one in the past. I realize that a lot of people don’t have responsibilities here so it doesn’t make much of a difference, but I have kids I’ve been clean for over two years and I have a daughter in school and I live an hour away. Even if people DON’T have kids or responsibilities, it’s still a screwed up attitude to have because most won’t play that at your mercy game to get my dose. It was frustrating to say the least. I could go on, but my biggest problem is that I was met with resistance by TWO different doctors when I requested to continue the taper that I was already on at my previous clinic. I was told let’s do it next month by the first doctor followed by excuses, then since I had to meet with the doctor again, I was like well put me back on my taper, I would like to continue my taper and she’s like well when you come back next week you can do it. I’m like I’m not coming back next week. I’m picking up a month worths and I’m not coming back for a month. I would like to continue my taper now. I don’t wanna have to sit here for two hours to meet with you again! Well, you have to do a pregnancy test first well. That’s FINE! I’m going to have to do a pregnant test every time I come in here along with my UA to be able to go down anyways. It’s a little unsettling that they don’t seem to want you to come of this shit. I have my daughter that is in school and I don’t have time to deal with this next month and her miss school AGAIN, because I have to see the doctor. It just makes you more determined to wanna get off this shit! At people’s mercy who don’t work with you it’s tough to stay on it anyways. I’ve never been in a clinic that didn’t accommodate somebody with their dose before their counseling appointment and it just seems like they would like every other clinic because otherwise you’re looking for the fastest answer you can give them! Not accurate at all! 😂 Let’s just get through this so I can dose finally. They don’t tell you that you’re they’re switching your pick up date until you go to pick it up and by the way. They seem to just do as they please and don’t include the patient in their own recovery plans, which sucks! It shows that they just don’t respect you enough as a human to care to tell you. You don’t deserve to know. I’ve always hated enrollment days though, things should be smooth sailing from here, we shall see! Before, I thought this was the best clinic I’d ever been to. I think Capilina in San Marcos might have them beat. Sucks when your used to a good clinic and have to go to a crappier one. I’ll get used to it, I’ve been to waaaaaaay crappier, I’ll say that much! Hopefully things are smooth sailing from here. Things were definitely off to a rocky start though! It was way different when I went years ago and had to go every 2 weeks. Things are different, not in a good way, but maybe that was an off day. I was never really met with resistance before and it was the same doctor. They always ask why you wanna go down and it’s like well, because I wanna get off of this, isn’t that a given?? I was jumping down 10 mg at a time the last time I was here so maybe they’re getting nervous because I’m getting closer to being off and the loss of another patients money, but why would they care? I wasn’t there a week ago anyways. I’m just shitty over the experience. It’s all good. Tranfers/New enrollments are ALWAYS a nightmare!

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances. During your therapy sessions, the therapist helps you uncover underlying issues and triggers for addictive behavior that support a holistic approach to recovery.
