About The Bergand Group
The Bergand Group provides addiction treatment including co-occurring disorder treatment. They have two locations with one in Lutherville, Maryland, that serves clients in the Baltimore county area.
This clinic is in-network with BCBS, Cigna,TRICARE East, Magellan and Maryland Medicaid. If out of network benefits are available in your plan, Cigna, Aetna and United Healthcare are also accepted.
Outpatient Programs in Maryland
Their intensive outpatient program (IOP) runs three-hour group sessions each day. There are daytime, evening and weekend groups available. I like that classes are so frequent so you can fit treatment easily into your schedule. They also have a virtual IOP option to make treatment even more accessible.
Their phase II group is also known as outpatient treatment. This group can be a step down from the IOP or for folks who don’t need treatment that is as intensive as what’s offered in the IOP.
DUI/DWI Programs for Baltimore County
These educational programs are for people who’ve been issued a DWI or DUI in the state of Maryland. They are state-certified and will satisfy any court requirements. I like that this program is offered virtually so that location isn’t an issue.
They have rolling admissions into their program. You’ll get two hours of class each week for a total of six weeks. As part of this program, clients are screened for appropriate treatment which could include the IOP or 26 or 52-week aftercare programs.

The doctor at this facility is excellent as are the counselors. My only complaint is the unprofessional secretary/front desk man (Ian/Evan). He is consistently rude, unkind, unhelpful, as well as vaping constantly when we (patients) aren't even allowed to. I found him to be a very negative aspect to an otherwise great place.
I am approaching 10 months sobriety and 10 months with Bergand. This place has been a game changer for me. I’ve done long-term residential (4 times), AA, NA, you name it but, the approach through their IOP and OP programs, as well as, prescribed medications, has me in a place, mentally, physically, and spiritually, that I haven’t ever been in. When I came into the Group, I was in a very dark place and now, well, I came into the light and enjoy every moment of my life. Thank you to all the Counselors, Staff, and Nurses who saved my life. Keep up the amazing work you all do!
Ian is the best! Always goes above and beyond in scheduling appointments, calling in refills when I need them and he sends out plenty reminders as far as reminding me about my appointments. The office runs smother and he is ALWAYS happy to help. Hope he gets a raise or at least a bonus!!

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
Treatments
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
