About The Phoenix

The Phoenix is a sober activity community with a facility in Denver, Colorado. This location takes an innovative yet researched backed approach to substance use recovery. This approach relies on human connectivity, movement, and physical health and wellness to help shape your mind, body and soul.

At The Phoenix you’ll find hundreds of weekly sober activities and events being hosted. You’ll get to meet other individuals who have faced similar life struggles while engaging in activities that will nourish your soul. The events are almost always rooted in some type of physical activity such as hiking, biking, yoga or even CrossFit.

Research shows a strong correlation between physical movement and sobriety. Staying physically active brings with it a level of discipline and structure, themes that are essential to addiction recovery. Incorporating exercise and recreational activities into your schedule can also help you manage triggers and negative emotions brought on by mental health struggles.

When you engage in these recreational activities with others who understand what you’re experiencing, you’ll have a community you can tap into when you need it most. This community can give you hope, inspire you, and build your resilience so that you are overcoming the challenges that may have led you to substance use in the first place.

They take a novel approach to addiction recovery and instead of traditional or clinical care, there’s a strong social aspect offered through this program. Many people who participate in these sober activities may continue with outpatient services they may be receiving elsewhere.

Just went to check this place out during Open Gym. I'm 3 months sober and this Community is AMAZING. Open Gyms are FREE to the sober & active lifestyle community! They have yoga, a community room, workshops, and the owner is super cool. It's an LGBTQIA+ friendly, vet friendly spot with a TON of equipment and even more classes. Def the type of gym you can go to daily. Pretty accessible to Downtown too, and they also offer Crossfit.Am def going to be bringing friends here.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Small gym but well equipped. As a trans POC I am VERY selective with gyms but I have never felt unwelcome here. Very open and non judgemental vibe. The showers are great; clean, single stall, lockable. When staying in recovery is a challenge I come here to clear my head and blow off steam.

This place is simply AMAZING 🤩 Seriously! The guy at the front was so kind and helpful. The sign up was so easy. You just download the app, update your profile, and check in. The app is super easy to navigate and the place has so much to offer. I've been telling myself to find a gym to workout for months and I finally did at the phoenix. The best part its free and great for people who want recovery!!! Please check it out...JUST DO IT .....YOU WONT BE SORRY!!!

The Phoenix has been essential in maintaining my sobriety. With membership only requiring 48 hours of sobriety, you can't find a better deal. The staff and volunteers are very welcoming and are more than happy to help you reach your fitness goals, and immerse yourself in the sober active community!
