Troy Lee and Sabrina Spatz are single-handedly the reason for the growth I've had in my mental health. To be honest based on the last place(arbor mental health services) I tried seeking help from with my mental health and the "answers" I got from that place made me very learly/nervous to reach out to anyone ever again to seek assistance with my mental health.
Seeing the reveiws on NCHC made me even more worried that I was going to be treated like another number or just another person with a list of problems that don't matter. After a few sessions With Troy and Sabrina i realized quickly with how they communicated with me and how they treated me that I knew I was in the right place with people who actually cared and wanted to see my mental health successes.
What Ive come to realize is that I get and understand the rap that this place gets. To be honest alot of it is probably people who are upset because they aren't getting what they want or what they think they need.
Troy and Sabrina are the type of people who will listen to what you have to say, apply your situation to what they have learned and what they have been taught and will apply their knowledge to your situation for the best mental outcome of whatever it is your trying to accomplish mentally.
Hats off to Troy Lee and Sabrina Spatz. You guys are what the mental health field truly needs to be able to find success in your mental health. The industry needs more people like Troy and Sabrina.

November 21st, 2023 the day of my birthday. When i told everyone i am not feeling well. So, as I rested in my bedroom, feeling under the weather, I was abruptly unable to speak or move. Fortunately, my brother's swift action led him to call the ambulance, which rushed me to the Green Bay ICU to battle a respiratory flu and Covid. Subsequently, I was transferred to Mount View Care Center on Level 2, where I received outstanding care and support. And, I am forever more thankful for the care I received, particularly from Amy Martin, who demonstrated remarkable compassion and empathy. My experience with the ventilator community was profoundly inspiring, and I wouldn't change a thing. Much love and gratitude! ❤️

Ashland, WI | Tamarack Health Ashland Medical Center was once known as Memorial Medical Center. They’re in Ashland, Wisconsin, and they have behavioral health care for adults and minors. There’s a specialized track for eating disorders. The detox and inpatient programs are intended only for adults. They have 10 beds that are reserved for detox and stabilizat | Treatments Programs Payment Options | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A Call for Growth at Tamarack Health, Ashland WI
I want this to be read as a 5-star review with a challenge for improvement. Tamarack Health is vital for Ashland—especially with Northland College now closed, this facility is one of the last anchors for growth in our region.
My Experience
I spent 48 hours here, saw three doctors, and walked away with three slightly different explanations of my condition. That inconsistency is concerning.
At one point, I was told I could eat, but my own research suggested otherwise. When I insisted I shouldn’t, a doctor eventually had to look it up online. The next person who used the computer revealed the Johns Hopkins page she had left open. For anyone healing a perforated colon—yes, you do not eat, not even drink water. That moment taught me: always do your own research.
I was also discharged without seeing a doctor. The last physician I spoke to said she wanted to consult the surgery team. Three hours later, a nurse simply told me, “If you can keep broth down, you’re good.” That was it—no chance to talk to a doctor about my new, life-changing condition.
What Worked
The nursing staff were all kind, attentive, and professional. The facility itself is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The people here clearly care.
What’s Missing
What’s missing is the sense of a team. Healthcare works best when patients feel their caregivers are communicating—not just walking in one at a time to read a chart. What if every shift started with a “huddle” where the team aligned on patient care, like athletes before a game? What if patients felt that same spirit of unity when someone walked into the room?
Even a simple improvement—a live group chat among care providers, a more fluid hand-off, or visible collaboration—could shift the entire experience. Patients don’t just need comfort; they need confidence that their caregivers are speaking with one voice.
My Hope
Tamarack Health can rise higher and be a leader in Ashland’s future. All it would take is breaking down the bureaucracy and building up the teamwork. I believe this facility, with its people and potential, could become a shining example of healthcare done right—not just for Ashland, but for rural communities everywhere.

Starting off with this review that all meals prepared at AMC are hand prepared and cooked by the Chef and his team of Cooks, All foods are homemade and not one meal is repeated making this hospitals food gourmet and lovable, Monday-Friday 11am-6pm The Hospital Chef is tirelessly preparing good food for families and visitors and patients of AMC On the weekends Patients get to have what they want by contacting the kitchen staff and ordering what is good, The menu is widespread with healthy lunches dinners and desserts. Whatever catches your eye, its sure to be good. This Volunteer has had several meals at AMC and am impressed with the inevitable meals prepared. I would continue to dine whilst volunteering at AMC no matter what. Each meal is Appropriately priced so are the Refreshments. Theres even fruit, sandwiches and wraps available in case you don’t want the main course. Even tho the kitchen dining room is closed after lunch you can still order what you want (patient).

Wittenberg, WI | Homme Youth and Family Programs is a residential recovery program for youths and adolescents with a history of trauma, sexual perpetration and sexually reactive behavior and secondary substance use issues. I understand there is some concern about mistreatment of some youth in the program. I was sent for delinquency and as such completed the program through the North unit. While at wingspan, the entry unit, I was subjected to sexual assault, but it was from another resident, not from staff. There was some physical restraint from staff that pushed into abuse, but in my case was necessary to illicit compliance. Nothing too crazy beyond restraint tactics. They would bend your limbs in ways to cause pain without permanent injuries. One time I was pulled out of my bunk by my neck and pinned to the wall by one of the "harder" staff from the drug unit, in response to me flipping him off through the window. I never thought of it as abuse , I came from a physically abusive home, and this was very mild in comparison. All that said, Homme home actually did greatly helped my view of the world. In many ways I believe that it saved my life. I was on a destructive path and had an all or nothing attitude. My experience at the North unit was nothing like wingspan. Is was a great place for growth and understanding, and most of the staff were exceptional. Had I not had this experience, I don't think I would have had a chance at a productive and fulfilling life.

Jeralyn is an angel!!! I started working with her at a previous clinic to address complex trauma about 7 years ago. At that time, I moved my sister into my one bedroom to help with expenses, was on short term disability, and applying for SSDI.As one might imagine with complex trauma, I had a lot of barriers to my healing. Jeralyn was patient with me when I came back with the same sh!t over and over. Jeralyn is compassionate; every time I pushed her away and isolated myself, she allowed me the space I needed to come back. Jeralyn is gracious because she never once made me feel shame for pushing her away or that I needed to change anything about me. She accepted me exactly as I am then, now, and each step of the way.Seven years later, I've stepped into my power. I've reconnected with my soul and found my purpose. I've become an amazing parent, started school, and launched a business. All seven years after I thought there was nothing left for me but miserable memories. It was a gift from The Universe having her help me to first heal then grow. If you have an opportunity to get in the books, do it.
