Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

There are many types of drug rehab in North Carolina. To receive treatment for addiction, you can choose from many inpatient and outpatient programs. Often, participants start with detox and work through a full continuum of care that continues with ongoing support for long-term recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I went there and was treated horribly I decided to leave the program because of how I was being treated so they lied to my mother and step father saying I did something wrong that they were kicking me out of the program. When I first got there they had paired me up with someone who doesn't take those types of programs seriously she has been in there programs 7 to 8 times already. I also heard the pastor say when the parents got there for family day let me go out and get this money but I was still in the blackout which means I couldn't see my family talk to them or anything for 30 days. I didn't like that I had to ask to get up from the breakfast, lunch, and dinner tables. We could only have 1 soda a day and only watch TV on the weekends if they allowed it. I had to leave once I left that place I promised myself to do better so I wouldn't end back up in a place like that

So, so disappointed for such "Christian" ministry. I was discharged from the ministry because I was 15 minutes late from the home visit, (after driving 5 hours to get there) no other broken rules. My husband even notified ATC director ahead of time. Sadly they did not show grace nor mercy. When I was admited to the program I was not 15 minutes late, I was 5 hrs but because they were gonna get the $1,750 payment I was able to stay in the program that night. My family is very disappointed, sad and afraid I would fall, but I won't. I can do all things through Him who gives me strength. Nothing will separate me from God. This will not bring me down. Greater is He who lives in me. Amen.

Highly disappointed in this “Christian” based facility that is supposed to help recovering addicts. My aunt, finally chose that life was better than drugs. Her and my mother had been in contact with this so called “pastor” Frank. My aunt was taken to the facility on Tuesday, we were told if we put money in her account for a bus fare it would stay there, in case she decided to leave. Well, this Friday, early afternoon, we received a call from a woman stating that my aunt wanted to leave but there was no money in her account for a bus and if we didn’t have money in the account for it they would drop her off in front of Walmart. After questioning where her money was she said someone would look into and get back with us. After no one called us back, my cousin called the facility, of course no answer. Still no one returned her phone call. I called another number my mother had, it was “pastor” Franks number. He said he had no idea what was going on but he would call the office and then let me know. An hour goes by, haven’t heard a word from him. Called him back, he text me that he couldn’t talk, he would call me in 20 minutes. Two hours then pass, so my husband calls and frank magically text me he is still in a meeting, still doesn’t know what’s going on and apologized for any inconvenience. This so called pastor nor the employees NEVER returned our phone call. They dropped my aunt off at the Walmart, in 100 degree weather, no money, no ID, just the bags of clothes she took down there. My aunt said they kicked her out because she couldn’t receive food stamps. While waiting at the Walmart, an employee stated that they had did the same thing to another woman just last week. Thankfully a true pastor and his wife were at her rescue, they sat with her and even met my cousin halfway for us to pick her up. We are very thankful for them. A lot of local churches support this facility and it’s a shame that they praise nothing but their godliness on their website and Facebook page but run their facility this way.
