The Carbon-Monroe-Pike (CMP) Drug and Alcohol Commission in Lehighton, Pennsylvania is the Single County Authority for those counties.Through contracted providers and their own prevention, treatment, and case management units, they offer education, prevention, intervention, case management, recovery support, and treatment for substance use.
Affordable Services for All in Need
The center accepts most major insurance plans and PA medical assistance, and offers a liberal sliding fee schedule. County residents who are uninsured or underinsured may qualify for free care paid for by limited funding. Priority is given to pregnant women who use substances, individuals who inject drugs, overdose survivors, and veterans.
Outpatient Counseling for Clients and Their Families
The center offers intensive outpatient and general outpatient treatment. Treatment consists of personalized individual counseling and educational group therapy sessions.
Counseling sessions for the family educates the family about how to be supportive of the clients recovery without being codependent or being an enabler. Outpatient treatment is also available to residents of Schuylkill County.
Referrals for PHP and MAT
If the clinic determines you need more intensive treatment with partial hospitalization, you will be referred to a contracted provider being either the PA Treatment and Healing Clinic or the Pyramid Healthcare Stroudsburg Outpatient Clinic.
The center has discovered that for some of us, counseling alone is not effective and we need medicated assisted treatment. If they determine you need medication in addition to counseling, you will be referred to Pyramid Healthcare, their contracted provider that prescribes Suboxone, Vivitrol or methadone.
DUI Court Ordered Programs
Court ordered programs are available at the center. They offer evaluation, education, and treatment of DUI offenders. They also offer the 12.5 hour mandated Alcohol Highway Safety School required for first and second time offenders.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.
In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.
