My sister and I admitted our father to the rehabilitation center six days ago. Only the workers and patients are allowed inside. The guard stopped us at the door, but he was friendly and empathetic. He assured us that he would be well taken care of, which was true. I was particularly concerned about his safety and well-being because of the negative reviews I had read. According to the rehab policy, I couldn’t contact him, and he was only allowed to make phone calls with his counselor. He managed to make one call and was released today. I finally had the opportunity to talk to him about his experience. Our father is a retired attorney and highly intelligent, but he has struggled with addiction throughout his life. He can be belligerent and argumentative at times. I was unsure how the staff and residents would interact with him. To my delight, my father had an excellent experience at the center. He described the facility as spotlessly clean and the staff as friendly and cultured. He praised the food and mentioned that he was able to get plenty of rest. The only downside he mentioned was that patients were limited to two or three ten-minute smoke breaks outside and there were no activities to keep them occupied, making his days feel long. I found this to be a pity, considering the center’s beautiful surroundings. Fresh air and sunlight are essential for health and well-being, but that was the only complaint he had. Overall, I highly recommend this center and wish my father had chosen to stay longer. I would also like to mention that the admission process was quick and easy. The representative was very friendly and helpful. Overall, I highly recommend this center, provided that you are okay with not being able to contact or speak with anyone from the center at all or hear from your loved one on a very limited basis. Entered Valley Forge Hospital 36 years ago today (July 18,1981) and today I celebrate 36 years of continuous sobriety. The staff at the time taught me to listen, learn and examine my motives. I was a horrible patient but they got through in spite of myself. We started the Valley Forge Alumni Association (me, Linda McD. and and Curt C.) in 1981.The place has done a lot of good for a lot of people. Sobriety isn't for those who want it or even for those who need it. Sobriety is for those who are willing to do the work to earn it. Once we stop complaining and start doing the work, life gets better. May God continue to bless us all. EDIT. Just celebrated 45 years of continued sobriety. Everything I said 9 years ago still holds true. Sobriety is earned on a daily basis. Life is wonderful. July 18, 2026. Keep on keeping on. Sobriety works...... Just keep doing the work.

My treatment team did a great job. I didn't trust anything when I first got to the hospital. The more I worked on myself, the more I saw myself getting better AND THE GOODNESS in others. I met a lot of great patients there as well. Some were worse off than me, and some others not so much. Either way we were all there getting help. Josiah, a social worker, did a great job in making me feel comfortable talking about Spirituality. I brought it up and we had a great talk. I believe he is a true Christian, no matter if our views on Religion differ or not. He is definitely a man of God. I am trusting his decision for my aftercare and hoping it goes well. The group room in North Hall should always be open for activities. That is the one thing I can truly say needs to change in that entire wing. Thanks MCES

Hi. This place may get a lot of negative reviews but it’s because most of the folks that reviewed mces were patients that were told “no”. You cannot do whatever you want when you want to. This place is structured with helpful groups and activities. Maybe they didn’t go. I can’t speak on the medications, but the nurses do not write the orders. The nurses carry out the orders made by the Dr that saw you. Please be patient and be respectful, they are trying to help you. The tech are amazing. There are techs that specialize in many areas such as card players , chess games. Some folks are better than others in the hospitality area but there are others that pick up where some lack. We work together to help y’all out. Some folks need a bit more encouraging to bathe so they may get a gentle push while others; we need to “ move them along” to the shower room. The staff care for all the patients and we do our best to help everyone. The crises area had a big makeover and it is amazing in there, very comfortable . The bathrooms were redone and the food is really good. Yes staff tear that food up too, lol . The snacks seem like they’re for kids, meaning you get a little pudding, a packet of cracked (saltines or graham) jello, chips sometimes and a little juice, but you can have more than 1 . The only reason the rodents were in the rooms was because the patients kept food in their rooms and housekeeping could only do so much . The patients hoard and hide food in the drawers and under the blankets because they try to save it for overnights. But they created that problem with pests. Housekeepers are constantly sweeping mopping the floors. I can say that in the last year, there has not been any pests (new vents) and the food is really good. The snack machines stay full and from a techs perspective, they really try to keep the place up. Housekeepers do not get enough credit. They are amazing. The techs are amazing as well as we do the best we can to accommodate the patients even when they are miserable and needy. We are a service to the county and we didn’t make you come here. Maybe those that complain about the smallest things should reevaluate themselves and get right. As we have all levels of care here. This is not a shelter or a place to hide from the authorities. This is a real psychiatric hospital and we help and treat those in need. We are more than just “3 hots and a cot”. Just know that all staff care about your well being and do our very best to accommodate your needs while you are here. Don’t be so angry that all you do is see red and yelling and cussing everyone out. What can you do to change your circumstances that you put yourselves in. Good luck to anyone in crises and please do not allow the lack of discernment steer you away from getting the help you need.

Had a great experience here at STR Bucks came out of treatment into their PHP program after having relapsed multiple times and this place was definitely a key factor in helping me stay sober and on the right track. My therapist Ashley was amazing, all the behavior techs were great they really care about their clients and their well being. My case manager Melvin made things extremely easy helping me take time off from work while I was in treatment. STR Bucks has been a blessing in my life and I recommend it to anyone struggling with substance abuse or mental health.

Quick service for an ER. I was pleasantly surprised. My stay was about four hours from beginning to end and I was takien kvery good care of. They did track down what I had and how to treat it. I was given intravenous. I was given a room in the ER department and I left feeling very satisfied and much better than when I went in.

After spending 35 days in inpatient at Lake Ariel Avenues, I spoke with the Alumni Coordinator Kristy N about extending into a PHP at Bucks. I wasn’t convinced at first but after speaking to her and another employee, Scott, I figured what do I have to lose. I committed to an additional 30 days. Here I am 6 months later with an entire new outlook on life. Avenues has taught me how to live a sober fulfilling life. Give it a shot.

Thank you PRC, I have 402 days clean and sober today because of the excellent treatment that I received from the entire staff. I got the help from Chris my therapist to work on more personal issues with alcohol drugs and mental illness. He also helped me with my family to. I saw a psychiatrist and a doctor. They provided me with recovery home to live. I feel blessed today and I know that if I stay clean and sober for today, life is worth living. Thank you

The staff are also great.They keep you busy working on your self. The house managers are real. They don't allow you to go by the wayside. You will be held accountable. If you are working the program of recovery whether mental or SUD , trust me you will see the growth . Those staff who stood out , are all of them ..They go above and beyond to make sure you accomplish your goals. So I give them a Five stars . Cause they are very compassionate. Coming to Banyan was most likely the best choice I could’ve ever made in terms of my treatment. The staff here are absolutely wonderful and they are very supportive to everyone here including myself. The therapist I was assigned as well, Dani, did everything in her power to help me as best as she could which means the world to me. Overall if I would have to come back to a treatment facility I would always choose Banyan.

I needed a rehab during a low time in my life and I’m extremely glad i was accepted at this facility. The grounds are well kept with cute farm animals and the food is pretty great for what it is. I met some great people here between my sobriety sisters and the staff. My counselor Ken was compassionate and kind. He taught me the skills necessary to become and maintain sobriety. Alaina, the life skills specialist, really cares about the clients. She went above and beyond in doing special things for us.

I signed up for outpatient treatment and the staff was very friendly very helpful and my therapistMr. Derek) a good dude, very understanding never looked down on me because of my alcohol and powdered cocaine addiction. Unfortunately, my addictions got the best of me and I relapsed and didn't return.I was so ashamed of myself I didn't want to show my face and went back to boozing and now thankfully I'm finally getting help that I need. I was admitted to Jefferson Hospital suffering from severe alcohol withdrawal syndrome, borderline experiencing auditory hallucinations. I was also suffering from gait abnormality and balance and coordination issues so they transferred me to Wyndmoor Hills for Physical therapy and once I'm discharged well before I'm discharged, I'll pick a rehab facility for inpatient treatment.Wish me luck.

I successfully completed my program last week. The 35 days I spent there have not only saved my life, I also now, for the first time in 43 years, LOVE myself. My counselor, Lisa, helped me put faith in myself, which I never experienced before. All the techs where awesome to me, I'd like to shout out Helen. Everyday she put a smile on and that smile is contagious, at the same time she genuinely cared everytime she asked myself, or anyone else how they where doing, that means a lot to so many of us, that were in those rooms. Pyramid saved my life and im forever grateful 🙏!! THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH!!! UPDATE: : June 2026, will be 3 years, I am Blessed, rank you!

I've been to better and been to worse. They provide a therapeutic environment that allows clients the opportunity to heal and grow. They feed you well, the coffee is real and usually strong (though limited to meal times,) the gym is better than most. There are ample smoke breaks and there are decent amenities. It's not the Ritz, but it's not supposed to be. They're definitely understaffed, but the team they currently have is full of dedicated and compassionate people which made all the difference in my stay and helped my find direction and hope. I'm very satisfied and grateful.🙏

Amazing staff that cares and are vested in your recovery. Without MRC I would never have been able to gain the tools necessary for my on going recovery program.
