He’s approachable and fair. The psychiatry is a bit different as it’s done by zoom but I have never felt mistreated or ignored. Ashley Lynn 3 years ago The reason I am giving as many stars as I am is because the office staff is amazing, the therapists (chelsea and virginia are AMAZING) know what they're doing and they're great with my kiddos. The old NP, Barb, was also GREAT with my daughter and was in the process of finding her the correct medicine that will work for her before we, without notice, were pulled from her schedule and put with someone else that goes by the name of Dr. Beth, or Elizabeth Finley. She was outrageously rude to my 13 year old, who has been suffering with mental health issues, and the last thing she needed was the advice of this 'dr', or lack thereof. I was nervous about being inpatient and not having options to meet my strict diet, but they worked with me to ensure that I not only had plenty of options, but great tasting food as well. One meal service, my little cup of ice cream was missing. Not a huge deal. But, on my tray was an apology card and an extension to call. When I called, and the person on the other line apologized profusely and said that they were out of that particular ice cream, but would be more than happy to bring me up a different one. I was at a very low point in my life, not wanting to be alive anymore. Embark was a very nice place. 99% of the staff were very kind and caring. The facility was very nice, and the food was pretty good. I didn't like being there, but looking back it wasn't too bad. I was transferred to a long term facility after 2 months at Embark. That is where I entered the world of The Troubled Teen Industry in Utah. I was not placed at one of the embark facilities there, rather an ROP program. But, it's important to know every single facility in Utah is BAD. Embark at the Poconos or one of their other locations far away from Utah is the exception. Embark at the Poconos was like a vacation compared to the other places I was sent. While I don't think you should send your child ANYWHERE unless absolutely necessary, it should be here if needed. I have heard bad things from friends who went to the embark locations in Utah. But, this one was pretty good. That being said, I thank embark at the Poconos for always treating me with compassion. Almost 3 years later, I am accepted to college for nursing and on track to graduate. I admit I manipulated a situation to fit my narrative without realizing how much harm my review has cost them ,their staff, and other recovering addict. Not only did I relapse after I ended up going to pyramid twice and didn't even bother to thank the directors of this place for giving me a 2nd opportunity to begin with. So since I'm in recovery now Im very greatful this place put me on the path to recovery and showed or taught me things about myself I never knew gave me an opportunity to become a better more self aware version of my self for that I'm grateful for places like this to keep their door open for addicts such as my self.
