I had been a problem drinker for years (let’s just be real: the worst drunk you can imagine). Although I had tried to quit several times before, I always ended up failing and winding “right back in the bottle.” While the outpatient rehabs were fine, they never prepared me for what came after: actually having to live and cope with what the world throws at you.
Even after a full year of sobriety I was still struggling when the VA referred me to New Hope. During my first session I was amazed that Toni understood addiction and where I was at with my struggle with my own mind and addiction to alcohol. I was willing to put in the work that Toni suggested and I am now experiencing a life I never thought I could have.

I have struggled with mainly meth addiction for 8 years or so. I was feeling so sick everyday. My body felt toxic, the meth wasnt giving me energy anymore, I was depleted. I was craving nature and nutrition.
I have been desiring to come to innerbalance for over 6 years now. I didn't have the money then. I went to 2 other rehabs before this one covered by medicaid instead. I honestly am thankful for all 3 of the rehabs I have been too. I have learned so much and after completing innerbalance and understanding all my underlying health issues and learning how to heal I finally believe I can move foward past addiction. I am so thankful and blessed to have gotten to come here. I haven't felt this good for a longtime. I feel joy again.
I have a solid recovery plan, relapse prevention plan and relapse plan. Everyone that works here is so encouraging and supportive. I have had so many laughs and good times here. Colorado Medication Assisted Recovery, familiarly known as “CMAR,” is hands-down the best program for addiction recovery. From the intake process to the first day in a group session, they make you feel so at home. So many times addicts like me have a lot of anxiety about entering a treatment center and being judged or not feeling like they belong. But my experience is quite opposite of that. People from all walks of life, with all different addictions are there and are welcoming and loving and supportive. CMAR has truly become a family to me. The nurse is very attentive and warm and exceptionally smart. The therapists are so knowledgeable and can really help you uncover the “Why” behind your addiction and unravel it, as well as give you simple life skills to combat the ups and downs of life as they come. Thwy also offer a very lenient schedule of either being able to attend online or in person, but in person is so much more impactful because you really get to know each therapist and your fellow addicts and that’s how it really becomes a family. I am highly partial to the morning IOP sessions with a therapist named James. Everyone connects with therapists differently, so the staff has all different style therapists to make sure their clients have the best experience possible. I live about 35 to 40 minutes away from the office in Thornton in Denver proper, and the drive doesn’t bother me at all because I know I’m walking into a place where each time I’ll walk out better and more understanding of my addiction so that I can heal and continue in long-term recovery. If you are committed to living a more full life, and your goal is emotional and mental sobriety, as well as sobriety from your drug of choice, GO TO CMAR. You won’t regret it.

Working in the behavioral health field, I’ve referred numerous clients to CMAR, and the outcomes have consistently been excellent. The staff is highly skilled, compassionate, and responsive — truly dedicated to helping individuals on their path to recovery.
Their outpatient programming is well-structured and evidence-based, offering flexibility without compromising quality. What I appreciate most is their collaborative approach; they communicate regularly with referring providers and truly value continuity of care.

I went to Northpoint in November of 2022. This facility offered an array of services and classes. This facility saved my life. The music classes were always my favorite and the food was amazing. There were art supplies and fun games to play to pass the time. I loved having my own room and bathroom. The staff was so nice and took care of me. They were there for good and bad moments. I met a lot of people that mean a lot to me.

North point has been nothing but an amazing place for me to get away from all the mess and find myself again. The staff is the absolute best. So funny and super open/honest with everyone. Very understanding. The free time we were given outside of class to be outside in the beautiful weather and chat with other peers meant so much to me. This place really allowed me to open up to others, which has been a struggle for me for a long time now. And the outings to go to meetings and get a feel of what recover looks like outside of the facility has given me the courage to keep pursuing that after release and to go meet others in recovery and continue down this path. While I was a little hesitant getting into treatment like most, the staff at sandstone were extremely patient and caring throughout the whole process. I attended and completed the dual diagnosis iop program while in treatment the staff at sandstone did an amazing job to make me feel welcome and comfortable and addressed and concerns quickly and effectively. The groups were very involved and really challenged me to grow as a person. After treatment I’ve been attending the alumni program that meets regularly and does fun events. It’s been a really good way to connect with others in the sober community and to get the extra support when I need it. I would highly recommend looking into sandstone if your considering treatment or haven’t found a place that’s right for you.

I went through sandstone twice. Once when I was 18 and again when I was 19. At the time I was not willing to admit that I had a problem with substances. I thought I had everything figured out. The years after I had graduated the program I was able to prove to myself that I still knew nothing about my alcoholism. I am grateful for sandstone since I wouldn’t have even been able to have any type of knowledge about my own substance use if it wasn’t for the amazing staff over at sandstone. They helped me get my foot through the door into the world of recovery. I don’t know where I would be without sandstone and I am beyond grateful for the effort the staff puts in to help people with their mental health/substance abuse. I now have a great relationship with my family, a true connection with my friends and most important I have a life worth living now. That is just the surface of what recovery has brought into my life. I have sandstone to thank for that!

2) Once enrolled you can also schedule individual therapy.
3) After graduating the program you are invited to Alumni events. So you always feel connected to the program and get to meet previous graduates of the program. Some events I’ve been to were Lantern Festival, Animal sanctuary, Game Nights, and many more. There are also zoom sessions.
I really am thankful for the Alumni group and coordinators for always checking in.

I want to start this review by acknowledging that recovery from mental health issues, trauma and addiction is HARD. There is no one place that will be a good fit for everybody and no place will work until the client wants to change and is ready to do the very difficult work required for healing. We stumbled upon the Rose House when we had almost lost all hope for our 18 year old daughter. She had been in and out of various mental health facilities and rehab facilities but nothing worked. She was an addict but if she checked into a rehab facility the trauma she had experienced caused her to go into a fight or flight response. She acted out verbally and by self harming. Although they would claim to be a dual diagnosis center, they would always call us within a day or so and tell us they didn't have the type of facilities to help her. If we tried to get her residential mental health help we were told there was no such place. She could only be put on a 72 hour hold if she was a danger to herself or others. Our daughter's addiction began when a couple of men lured her into their trafficking scheme. She was 14 and they paid her a lot of attention. In her mind one of them was her boyfriend and she felt flattered that an older man would want her. They started giving her drugs in exchange for sex. Soon she needed the drugs to stop the feeling of guilt and disgust she felt from what was happening to her. When she finally said no to one of them he physically and forcibly raped her. I wish we had understood earlier what was going on. (This man is now serving 97 years in a Colorado prison)
We walked into the Rose House and took a tour at her lowest point. She agreed to look at the Rose House but wasn't committing to going. After the tour we sat in Alison's office and I asked her if she thought the Rose House could help my daughter. Alison said if she is willing to come she is exactly who we help. My daughter said no one can help me I'm broken.
My daughter checked herself in a few weeks later after being arrested for a DV situation and a high speed chase with the police. She spent a night in jail and realized she did not want to spend another one there. She had a court hearing. Alison met us there to support her and then took her to the Rose House. We couldn't speak to her for 2 weeks during the settling in period. Once we could communicate with her we saw growth every time we spoke or saw her. I asked her what was different this time. Her answer was 1. I'm ready for help and 2. the staff knows what they are doing and I know they care about me.
I don't want to paint the wrong picture, recovery is never a straight line and it doesn't always happen in a set period of time. I was glad that the Rose House worked towards goals and that's what drove moving to the next step - not a set number of days on a calendar. They were also there on the tough days. Setting boundaries when needed, treating clients with respect and always showing compassion and consistency.
The other thing that is different about the Rose House is that they really believe that the healing of the client's family is important and do a lot of work towards that with the weekly family zoom meeting and the family weekend. We learn that we can not control the decisions of our loved ones but we can set boundaries for ourselves. We can support them in their recovery but we can't do it for them.
Our daughter graduated from the program and spent some time in the step down program. She is now 19, just received her 6 months chip for being clean and sober and is holding a fulltime job. She continues going to meetings almost everyday and is working with her own therapist to continue the work that was started in the Rose House.
I honestly believe that if we hadn't found the Rose House she would be dead now. Instead I get to hug her everyday and get to see the wonderful woman she is becoming.
The Rose House and it's staff have our undying gratitude.

I could write a review a mile long if I started naming all the great staff at the lodge, but I'll keep it to this: from the AM staff to the PM staff, every single person there is invested in supporting you on your journey, and they truly 'get it.' From laughter to serious moments, they facilitated the perfect healing environment for me.

This place saved my life. The entire staff is incredible and I quickly built relationships with everyone. And I could go on and on about my counselor Lindsey. She’s incredible, literally the only person in my life I look forward to talking to twice a week. She’s hands down my absolute favorite person ever. She goes out of here way and makes my recovery a priority. I’ve never had a support system like this and it’s the best feeling.

Even though I was court ordered to this place. They accept walk ins and will help anyone. You have to want the help! first time around I tried methadone it didn’t work for me, everyone is different. I did the groups and therapy through court. Learned so many things and have continued therapy a year after being off probation

My therapist Kate is a great support system! Through changes within my life she helps me stay calm and think through how I am feeling and action I want to take with certain big decisions in school and in day to day activities. She’s shown to understand my sensitivity and love for arts and crafts, along with thoughtful conversations. Kate is helping me through a very transitional and challenging time in my life, even though I only see her once a month for about an hour she’s shown to be very helpful to me long term. The entire staff was amazing! The counselors were great at communicating with the patients! Everyday was filled with positive and helpful information! The nurses were awesome at making sure everyone was comfortable, got their meds and were feeling as good as you could thru the program! Even the front desk person was very attentive to the patient's needs. Definitely a wonderful place to start your journey to recovery!

I have done ECT here with Dr. Katz. It's one of those things that you don't really want to do, but once you do, you are glad that you did because it changed my life. Medicine didn't work well for me, so I was desperate, so I tried this and it worked. I don't have to take medicine anymore and I feel so much better. Don't be afraid, it isn't too bad, you just forget a few things that happened that day.

I have been to several hospitals for care over the years, mainly in Virginia. However, I had a run where I had to be hospitalized at Aurora North, where my treatment was not treated. Rather, I was discharged after one day. I immediately went to Centennial Peaks Hospital who cared whether I started sleeping again. I didn't have many medication changes, which was good for me. I started ECT treatments which have made a world of difference for me. All in all, I am satisfied a 10 out of a 10 with this group/hospital. They are really there to help their patients out. Please note that not everyone receives the same treatment but what I experienced and continue to do so through ECT is wonderful and has worked for me. It is nice to know that people actually WANT to come to work and smile and interact with the patients. Other hospitals do not do that.
