It was my first ever time in treatment and it stuck. Very well. They set you up to be successful afterwards with doctors appointments and IOP so even though I haven't had much contact with GB themselves since, I've still was able to maintain treatment. Food was AMAZING. I had my own 1-bdr apartment with a kitchenette. The therapy was constant so it kept you busy. All the people were nice and they really seemed to care about what they were doing and being there. The pool table and cereal bar were great amenities too. It just wasn't my time yet. I love Atchison Valley Hope. The staff are A+. They genuinely care about the patients while there and after their discharge. I get calls from my counselors and case workers periodically just to see how I'm doing. It's more than collecting an insurance check with them. I finally took their advice and went to php and iop, in addition to an addiction counselor. I'm 65 years old and sober for the first time in a very long time. I started the MRC program around February 2026 for severe anxiety and depression. I was in a dark place, with no support from family or friends, and honestly I didn't think anything was going to help me at that point. The first day I arrived the staff were very welcoming but my anxiety was through the roof. I pretty much stayed in my room and only came out for meds and food too scared to really talk to anyone. As the weeks went by, I started getting comfortable then realized my peers were literally going through the same thing I was same with the staff, some of whom had gone through the same program themselves It gave me motivation if they could do it I could do it too. One of the things I struggled with was my schedule. It got so bad it started bleeding into everything like one day I'd sleep at 9pm, the next at 1pm, then I wouldn't sleep at all for three days straight. When I got there I kept missing classes because I was oversleeping or straight up refusing to wake up, so I got a warning that my phone would be taken away. That scared me straight that's when I finally got my shit together lol. Now 5 months later I had lost my job, totaled my car and pretty much everything I owned. A year ago that would've completely broken me. But I was okay. And that was the part that surprised me the most all this time I'd been chasing something that never had any real value to me in the first place. The job was good money sure but it brought me zero happiness. Working 90 hours a week was actively making my depression worse and I didn't even see it happening until I was already in here fighting to get my mind back. So when the termination letter came yesterday there was sadness but there was relief too. That job had become my whole identity a false one built on something that was quietly destroying me. Now today at 8am instead of frantically getting ready for a job that only made me miserable I'm sitting outside bird watching and reading a magazine like I'm 70 years old lol. And that's the lesson that took me almost losing everything to learn chasing something that has no real value to you personally will wear you down piece by piece until there's nothing left. Through this programming, you can expect an intensive outpatient	Treatments Programs Payment Options AlcoholismDrug AddictionMental Health and Substance AbuseOpioid AddictionSubstance Abuse Young Adult ProgramLGBTQ ProgramTeen ProgramAdult ProgramChild Program Private InsuranceMedicaidSliding Scale Payment AssistanceSelf-Pay OptionsMilitary Insurance	I was here from January-2025 to August-2025, honestly it was a good experience, alot of things happend to me that were out of the staffs and in bosses power, as in other clients behavior and such, but unfortunately I did get harrased and assulted by other clients but when i stated that, action was taken immediately, they would separate the client from the other(s), and even though it may have not been far, it was better then being traumatized, these "bad" reviews have too of been caused by bad past staff or a lying child, and I was there as I was 14, I was first on the unit champions& Defenders, but maybe 1 week after, my group switched units with champions (Our sister unit) and we got renamed, but as i stayed kids came, and kids went, but I had a good experience overall, and the meals are okay, I feel like the portions should be increased a little for each unit depending on age group, everyone got the same amount, but alot of kids there would do about anything for extras, even in small amounts, I was one of them sometime but it was always 50/50 whenever I ate, I feel as bedtime is WAY too early for 13+ as its 7:00PM for bedtime, as it is healthy but it was extremely hard for me too get up in the mornings because of the time, the beds are really low on the floor if ur in building 3[unless it has been renovated by now] and in building 7, the beds are a normal height, Anthony Servantez 1 year ago I was a client At TLC for at least six months and then discharged honestly for me I had a great time I have no idea these parents are talking about the one in the first photo I was there for that kid the only reason why her therapist told her no for the headphones was because they were working on headphones and then when they got unit headphones she refused to use them for the second one a hold is mandatory you cannot blame the staff they're just doing their job and if your child wouldn't have struggled then she wouldn't have so many bruises apologise but I was here for both of these kids both of these kids were in the wrong during their stay because the one that got into the hold tried to fight a staff so of course the staff has to put them in a hold because that's physical aggression and then as soon as the staff tries to put them in the hold she struggles which causes them to hold her tighter and make them stay longer the more she moves the tighter they get the girl that got bullied because of her autism she did not get bullied because of her autism she got bullied because she would cuss people out she would cuss therapist out obviously I had the same therapist so I can put this on put in that therapist was like the best therapist in the world like I have him again before that therapist left he spoke so many good things about your daughter he spoke good about your daughter even though she did so many bad things to him I'm not saying “this is the kids fault” because basically if I'm saying that I would be telling myself that same thing I'm saying that didn't help your kid and that was your objective go to another place I've been to 2 places TLC and pathways send them to another place if they don't do good especially kids in foster care the caseworker is obviously going to send them to another place if they're not doing better after discharge please this place is done so many good things for me I literally struggled in the beginning I got in so many holds in the beginning so many runways in the beginning as time progressed I got better and they finally let me out and I wasn't in a hold for like 3 months Alexandra 1 year ago I used to go here when i was 13/14... and for everyone who has had a bad experience placeing there child here just know as for every place it has its good and bad times. I was forchinat enough to be placed here when it had a good staff systume shout out to ,Michaelis, Doug dear, Melissa, mr Tiny, mark and meany more. I also made a tone of friends who i still keep up with to this day aswell. I had the chance learn alot about myself and my problems and left a better kid who was confident and well more behaved and I still use what I learned there to this day and I'm 30. I'm unsure how the place is doing almost 20 years later or who is working there but this place randomly popped up in my my head and i just felt the need to look it up and leave a review. It’s on the right side of the door. I hope this is helpful because past reviewers have said they couldn’t get access the building. I had a really great experience here. The process does take some time and you have to be patient. But they were truly amazing and helped me so much. I was assigned an emergency case worker, Phil, who has been amazing. He continuously checks up on me and has helped me every step of the way. Phil helped me sign up for all of my appointments (mental, dental and primary care), as well get Medicaid coverage within a week of leaving the crisis center. If you aren't allowed to eat something, whether it be religion based, dietary/medical, or literally just sensory issues, they WILL work with you on it. Just mention it to them, it's tucked into your patient file. Staff can appear cold, rude, or just pissed off, but they only get that way if you are pushing their buttons like breaking the no touching rule. Or sharing personal info like your home address, media handles etc. You, the patient, have zero clue how another may feel/react with being touched. You also, have no clue why they're in-patient, out-patient behaviors etc. They could be a stalker with bad intentions. Don't be "that guy." All the stuff are chill, let them do their job. They're literally certified/trained for it. Charles, goofy guy, usually is on 1A. He worked another gal, Hayley, not sure if she's there still, but she was top-notch. Hayley didn't look at any of the regulars with pity or annoyance, just as kids who haven't/aren't happy with a lot of stuff. She took the time to understand us, our triggers, and check-in. Hayley crosses my mind here and there. If, by any chance she is still at Marillac, just know that she played a part in my want to get help and stray away from the dark corners in my brain. I'm one year, eight months, twelve days clean on self-injury. She helped me get to where I am. Told me I would graduate high school. I did that very thing a semester early. Off to college I go in August. I had a few bad times but a lot of good times, especially when Richard Leland Benson, PHD, came into my life and helped me with my issues. Sue Cushing 5 months ago I was treated here back in 2017-2018. I couldn’t be happier with their residential program. Their acute care was not the greatest, they were very dismissive but within a few of weeks I was moved to a residential unit for long-term care. For acute (short-term) care, I’d avoid sending any loved ones here. The staff lacked the capacity and training to handle the patients working through crisis. Their residential program was outstanding and finally where I felt heard and listened to. There was a stark difference in how the staff handled different situations and crisis on the residential side to the acute care staff. They had an in-house school that I attended and earned credits towards my education. There were appropriate peer boundaries set in place and an appropriate amount of freedom for us to express ourselves without hindering our progress in our treatment plan. I left the residential program with a lot of progress in my own mental health. It works. Finally getting around to sharing but I'm extremely grateful for this place. I'm coming up on 2 years clean from opiates. It was my first ever time in treatment and it stuck. Very well. They set you up to be successful afterwards with doctors appointments and IOP so even though I haven't had much contact with GB themselves since, I've still was able to maintain treatment. Food was AMAZING. I had my own 1-bdr apartment with a kitchenette. The therapy was constant so it kept you busy. All the people were nice and they really seemed to care about what they were doing and being there. The pool table and cereal bar were great amenities too. My only complaint is that I left with a vitamin D deficiency, but it was wintertime in KS so we just couldn't do many outings.

This program gave me so many tools to continue my recovery and maintain my sobriety. Anthony was my counselor and I truly loved him - the time, his patience, calm aura and knowing he truly cared about me. Beth and Sam were also very amazing and always well prepared. I'm a chronic relapser and have been to Valley Hope several times. My relapses had nothing to do with Valley Hope and the care they provided. It just wasn't my time yet. I love Atchison Valley Hope. The staff are A+. They genuinely care about the patients while there and after their discharge. I get calls from my counselors and case workers periodically just to see how I'm doing. It's more than collecting an insurance check with them. I finally took their advice and went to php and iop, in addition to an addiction counselor. I'm 65 years old and sober for the first time in a very long time. There's no treatment center that's going to keep you sober or drug free. It takes work, but at AVH they will provide a serious reboot for your future. Alec T.

Every staff member I've met has been helpful, lovely, and smiling. Yes, the campus has some bumps and dings, even kids from the most stable backgrounds are careless. It makes sense, but people are working as hard as possible behind the scenes to fix those bumps and dings. The fact that there's a full size gym, a swimming pool that the kids have the opportunity to get into everyday in the summer and as many accoutrements of a family house as possible really makes what looks to me like the best out of a tough situation for some kids.

I was in their IOP. The staff and our group therapist were amazing. The group therapist was so kind and encouraging and was really good at including the entire group in conversation. I am forever grateful to them for everything I have learned. Also Heartland is a wonderful team to work with on the medical side. I did TMS for depression with them and I have to say this is the first time in a long time I don’t feel that constant heaviness and hopelessness anymore. Thank you MRC for all you have done for me. This place has truly changed my life, and it just dawned on me 5 months after completing the program. Sorry in advance for the long post. I started the MRC program around February 2026 for severe anxiety and depression. I was in a dark place, with no support from family or friends, and honestly I didn't think anything was going to help me at that point. The first day I arrived the staff were very welcoming but my anxiety was through the roof. I pretty much stayed in my room and only came out for meds and food too scared to really talk to anyone. As the weeks went by, I started getting comfortable then realized my peers were literally going through the same thing I was same with the staff, some of whom had gone through the same program themselves It gave me motivation if they could do it I could do it too. One of the things I struggled with was my schedule. It got so bad it started bleeding into everything like one day I'd sleep at 9pm, the next at 1pm, then I wouldn't sleep at all for three days straight. When I got there I kept missing classes because I was oversleeping or straight up refusing to wake up, so I got a warning that my phone would be taken away. That scared me straight that's when I finally got my shit together lol. Now 5 months later I had lost my job, totaled my car and pretty much everything I owned. A year ago that would've completely broken me. But I was okay. And that was the part that surprised me the most all this time I'd been chasing something that never had any real value to me in the first place. The job was good money sure but it brought me zero happiness. Working 90 hours a week was actively making my depression worse and I didn't even see it happening until I was already in here fighting to get my mind back. So when the termination letter came yesterday there was sadness but there was relief too. That job had become my whole identity a false one built on something that was quietly destroying me. Now today at 8am instead of frantically getting ready for a job that only made me miserable I'm sitting outside bird watching and reading a magazine like I'm 70 years old lol. And that's the lesson that took me almost losing everything to learn chasing something that has no real value to you personally will wear you down piece by piece until there's nothing left. I'm just grateful I got to learn that here instead of losing myself completely over it. Thank you MRC ❤️

Kyle Windler is as awesome as they come. He went above and beyond to accommodate my requests. My son left Arista after a few days for various reasons, leaving all his belongings behind, including a package I had sent from Amazon. Kyle went out of his way to make sure the Amazon was returned and I received a refund. He’s currently working on returning my son‘s wallet to him, and I have all confidence that he will find a way to do this. I contacted Arista several times to address these issues and finally found someone that directed me to Kyle, who was courteous and genuinely understanding of my stress and determined to resolve my issues. I was here from January-2025 to August-2025, honestly it was a good experience, alot of things happend to me that were out of the staffs and in bosses power, as in other clients behavior and such, but unfortunately I did get harrased and assulted by other clients but when i stated that, action was taken immediately, they would separate the client from the other(s), and even though it may have not been far, it was better then being traumatized, these "bad" reviews have too of been caused by bad past staff or a lying child, and I was there as I was 14, I was first on the unit champions& Defenders, but maybe 1 week after, my group switched units with champions (Our sister unit) and we got renamed, but as i stayed kids came, and kids went, but I had a good experience overall, and the meals are okay, I feel like the portions should be increased a little for each unit depending on age group, everyone got the same amount, but alot of kids there would do about anything for extras, even in small amounts, I was one of them sometime but it was always 50/50 whenever I ate, I feel as bedtime is WAY too early for 13+ as its 7:00PM for bedtime, as it is healthy but it was extremely hard for me too get up in the mornings because of the time, the beds are really low on the floor if ur in building 3[unless it has been renovated by now] and in building 7, the beds are a normal height,

I was a client At TLC for at least six months and then discharged honestly for me I had a great time I have no idea these parents are talking about the one in the first photo I was there for that kid the only reason why her therapist told her no for the headphones was because they were working on headphones and then when they got unit headphones she refused to use them for the second one a hold is mandatory you cannot blame the staff they're just doing their job and if your child wouldn't have struggled then she wouldn't have so many bruises apologise but I was here for both of these kids both of these kids were in the wrong during their stay because the one that got into the hold tried to fight a staff so of course the staff has to put them in a hold because that's physical aggression and then as soon as the staff tries to put them in the hold she struggles which causes them to hold her tighter and make them stay longer the more she moves the tighter they get the girl that got bullied because of her autism she did not get bullied because of her autism she got bullied because she would cuss people out she would cuss therapist out obviously I had the same therapist so I can put this on put in that therapist was like the best therapist in the world like I have him again before that therapist left he spoke so many good things about your daughter he spoke good about your daughter even though she did so many bad things to him I'm not saying “this is the kids fault” because basically if I'm saying that I would be telling myself that same thing I'm saying that didn't help your kid and that was your objective go to another place I've been to 2 places TLC and pathways send them to another place if they don't do good especially kids in foster care the caseworker is obviously going to send them to another place if they're not doing better after discharge please this place is done so many good things for me I literally struggled in the beginning I got in so many holds in the beginning so many runways in the beginning as time progressed I got better and they finally let me out and I wasn't in a hold for like 3 months

I used to go here when i was 13/14... and for everyone who has had a bad experience placeing there child here just know as for every place it has its good and bad times. I was forchinat enough to be placed here when it had a good staff systume shout out to ,Michaelis, Doug dear, Melissa, mr Tiny, mark and meany more. I also made a tone of friends who i still keep up with to this day aswell. I had the chance learn alot about myself and my problems and left a better kid who was confident and well more behaved and I still use what I learned there to this day and I'm 30. I'm unsure how the place is doing almost 20 years later or who is working there but this place randomly popped up in my my head and i just felt the need to look it up and leave a review. There is a button next to the front door you have to press to get buzzed into the building. It’s on the right side of the door. I hope this is helpful because past reviewers have said they couldn’t get access the building. I had a really great experience here. The process does take some time and you have to be patient. But they were truly amazing and helped me so much. I was assigned an emergency case worker, Phil, who has been amazing. He continuously checks up on me and has helped me every step of the way. Phil helped me sign up for all of my appointments (mental, dental and primary care), as well get Medicaid coverage within a week of leaving the crisis center. I absolutely cannot recommend them enough. They are the net.

First time using VA clinic. Very easy to use. Very professional and takes time to listen to your concerns. You do not feel like just another number. Wasn't really sure if wanted to use VA medical after all of the stories I heard and what I had seen with family members treatment. The Belton VA Clinic is exceptional! The reception staff is always kind, even when they have people being hateful toward them. I’ve never had to wait more than a couple of days for an appointment or labs whenever I need them. I am a big fan in general of VA healthcare. The VA really is the best healthcare system in the country. Some people haven’t dealt with private healthcare in a long time and it shows. I will say if you aren’t the best with technology then scheduling and things might be a little frustrating. If you can manage to use Facebook on your cell phone, watch Fox News on your phone at full volume in the waiting room, or figure out how to leave nasty Google reviews, you should be able to manage using the VA health app to schedule appointments and request meds.

Im a biopolar maniac. I have been to multiple different treatment facilities and i have to say cottenwood was by far the best one i have ever been to. I will be honest there is some flaws with their night shift but during the day i had the time of my life. It could be because im very social but the therapy there got me through the day and by the time it was over with i felt very healed. Till this day i still use the gratitude and appreciation they taught me at this phacility. The food was amazing and the portions are perfectly sized. Thank you cottenwood. I would definitely come back and drive the 5 hours from stl to kc if i have have another manic episode.

I have been going to BHG Overland Park treatment for about twenty years, and I think I have seen it all, but when Tony left that was the worst thing that happened. Why you didn't try to find out what was the problem, that Tony would leave. Makes no sense to me, he was the best adviser we've ever had, no one tried to stop him from leaving. From ages 11-16 (Got out just days before my 17th, turned 18 last year, turning 19 this year) I was in and out of this place more times than I'd like to admit but I digress. This place, despite all of the bad mouthing from others, is actually quite safe for your kiddo. Yeah, the food isn't top notch or is bland but cook staff has to be careful. If you aren't allowed to eat something, whether it be religion based, dietary/medical, or literally just sensory issues, they WILL work with you on it. Just mention it to them, it's tucked into your patient file. Staff can appear cold, rude, or just pissed off, but they only get that way if you are pushing their buttons like breaking the no touching rule. Or sharing personal info like your home address, media handles etc. You, the patient, have zero clue how another may feel/react with being touched. You also, have no clue why they're in-patient, out-patient behaviors etc. They could be a stalker with bad intentions. Don't be "that guy." All the stuff are chill, let them do their job. They're literally certified/trained for it. Charles, goofy guy, usually is on 1A. He worked another gal, Hayley, not sure if she's there still, but she was top-notch. Hayley didn't look at any of the regulars with pity or annoyance, just as kids who haven't/aren't happy with a lot of stuff. She took the time to understand us, our triggers, and check-in. Hayley crosses my mind here and there. If, by any chance she is still at Marillac, just know that she played a part in my want to get help and stray away from the dark corners in my brain. I'm one year, eight months, twelve days clean on self-injury. She helped me get to where I am. Told me I would graduate high school. I did that very thing a semester early. Off to college I go in August.

Naomi was truly AMAZING. From the very beginning, she knew exactly how to connect with my daughter and made her feel safe and understood. That sense of safety made all the difference—it significantly reduced my child’s anxiety and allowed her to begin to regulate during what was a stressful and very overwhelming experience. It is very clear that Naomi is highly skilled in trauma-informed care, and her ability to apply that in such a genuine and compassionate way did not go unnoticed. Our family will forever be grateful to The Crossroads Recovery Program for the impact it has had on our daughter and our entire family. As parents, my husband and I were extremely involved throughout our daughter's time at Crossroads and were deeply changed by the expeience. As a Clinical Psychologist myself, I came into the experience with a high level of professional knowledge and, admittedly, very high expectations for the quality of treatment. The Crossroads care team demonstrated an exceptional understanding of the complex needs of teenagers and young adults in recovery. Crossroads helped our daughter not only stop using substances - they helped her develop the emotional maturity, coping skills, self-awareness, accountability, and skills necessary to build a meaningful life in recovery. The program challenged her when she needed to be challenged, supported her when she needed support, and consistently treated her with dignity and respect. As parents, we were educated, supported, challenged, and given the tools to understand how we culd best support our daughter while also establishing healthy boundaries. I thought navigating addicition would tear our family and marriage apart (and it almost did before Crossroads). Today our family speaks openly about our recovery journey and the many ways we have all grown as a result. I wholeheartedly recommend the Crossroads Program - I truly believe they were instrumental in saving our daughter's life.

Mccallum place Kansas city was amazing. Although we all had rough days the staff new how to help and calm patients down. I transferred from residential where I didnt have a good experience and we werent sure how PHP would go for me, but they gave me more insight and opportunity on recovery. They truly cared for patients and continued showing us the road to recovery. Im forever greatful for getting to go to Mccallum KC for my recovery process, im forever indebted to the people there.

McCallum offered excellent care to a family member of mine. The staff created a safe, comfortable environment for my loved one to heal. They offer equine, movement groups, yoga, art groups, and meal challenges in addition to weekly therapy and dietician meetings. This program saved my loved one’s life. I was treated here back in 2017-2018. I couldn’t be happier with their residential program. Their acute care was not the greatest, they were very dismissive but within a few of weeks I was moved to a residential unit for long-term care. For acute (short-term) care, I’d avoid sending any loved ones here. The staff lacked the capacity and training to handle the patients working through crisis. Their residential program was outstanding and finally where I felt heard and listened to. There was a stark difference in how the staff handled different situations and crisis on the residential side to the acute care staff. They had an in-house school that I attended and earned credits towards my education. There were appropriate peer boundaries set in place and an appropriate amount of freedom for us to express ourselves without hindering our progress in our treatment plan. I left the residential program with a lot of progress in my own mental health. If it weren’t for my stay here I don’t believe I would’ve made it to where I am today and I am forever grateful for those here that made sure I hit my milestones.
