It works. Finally getting around to sharing but I'm extremely grateful for this place. I'm coming up on 2 years clean from opiates. It was my first ever time in treatment and it stuck. Very well. They set you up to be successful afterwards with doctors appointments and IOP so even though I haven't had much contact with GB themselves since, I've still was able to maintain treatment. Food was AMAZING. I had my own 1-bdr apartment with a kitchenette. The therapy was constant so it kept you busy. All the people were nice and they really seemed to care about what they were doing and being there. The pool table and cereal bar were great amenities too. My only complaint is that I left with a vitamin D deficiency, but it was wintertime in KS so we just couldn't do many outings.

Many have found freedom from addiction at Sunflower Recovery, an addiction treatment center in Osawatomie, Kansas. This drug rehab provides residential treatment as well as a partial hospitalization program and intensive outpatient program for adults with substance abuse issues and co occurring conditions. The 90 day residential treatment program
I cannot speak highly enough about Sunflower Recovery Center and their 90-day treatment program. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt a genuine sense of care and professionalism. The program is well-structured, with a perfect balance of therapy and support to live a healthy life in recovery. What truly sets Sunflower apart, though, is the incredible leadership of Katie, the Executive Director. Katie is more than just a director—she’s a passionate advocate for each individual’s recovery journey. She takes the time to personally connect with clients, offering encouragement, guidance, and even a listening ear when needed. Her dedication to the well-being of everyone in the program is clear, and it’s evident that she cares deeply about our success, both during the program and after. I never felt like I was just another client; Katie and her team ensured I had the tools and resources I needed to build a strong foundation for my sobriety. I never felt judged, but instead felt supported and encouraged every step of the way. The holistic approach to healing—addressing mental, emotional, and physical well-being—made all the difference in my recovery. Under Katie’s guidance, the program is not just a one-size-fits-all approach; it’s personalized and thoughtfully crafted to address the specific needs of each individual. I am forever grateful for the entire Sunflower team for helping me take the first steps toward lasting sobriety. Sunflower is a place where you’re not just another client—you’re a person who matters.

I'm a chronic relapser and have been to Valley Hope several times. My relapses had nothing to do with Valley Hope and the care they provided. It just wasn't my time yet. I love Atchison Valley Hope. The staff are A+. They genuinely care about the patients while there and after their discharge. I get calls from my counselors and case workers periodically just to see how I'm doing. It's more than collecting an insurance check with them. I finally took their advice and went to php and iop, in addition to an addiction counselor. I'm 65 years old and sober for the first time in a very long time. There's no treatment center that's going to keep you sober or drug free. It takes work, but at AVH they will provide a serious reboot for your future. Alec T.

Not in any small part because of Kerry (think I spelled that right) in detox, because she is @$$@ ing hilarious, and made me feel a lot better. I mean, guys, it’s rehab.. ;) But this is a very good rehab. Admins listen. EDIT: It took guys.. It really took this time. I shed the $&!t colored goggles. I was here from January-2025 to August-2025, honestly it was a good experience, alot of things happend to me that were out of the staffs and in bosses power, as in other clients behavior and such, but unfortunately I did get harrased and assulted by other clients but when i stated that, action was taken immediately, they would separate the client from the other(s), and even though it may have not been far, it was better then being traumatized, these "bad" reviews have too of been caused by bad past staff or a lying child, and I was there as I was 14, I was first on the unit champions& Defenders, but maybe 1 week after, my group switched units with champions (Our sister unit) and we got renamed, but as i stayed kids came, and kids went, but I had a good experience overall, and the meals are okay, I feel like the portions should be increased a little for each unit depending on age group, everyone got the same amount, but alot of kids there would do about anything for extras, even in small amounts, I was one of them sometime but it was always 50/50 whenever I ate, I feel as bedtime is WAY too early for 13+ as its 7:00PM for bedtime, as it is healthy but it was extremely hard for me too get up in the mornings because of the time, the beds are really low on the floor if ur in building 3[unless it has been renovated by now] and in building 7, the beds are a normal height,

I was a client At TLC for at least six months and then discharged honestly for me I had a great time I have no idea these parents are talking about the one in the first photo I was there for that kid the only reason why her therapist told her no for the headphones was because they were working on headphones and then when they got unit headphones she refused to use them for the second one a hold is mandatory you cannot blame the staff they're just doing their job and if your child wouldn't have struggled then she wouldn't have so many bruises apologise but I was here for both of these kids both of these kids were in the wrong during their stay because the one that got into the hold tried to fight a staff so of course the staff has to put them in a hold because that's physical aggression and then as soon as the staff tries to put them in the hold she struggles which causes them to hold her tighter and make them stay longer the more she moves the tighter they get the girl that got bullied because of her autism she did not get bullied because of her autism she got bullied because she would cuss people out she would cuss therapist out obviously I had the same therapist so I can put this on put in that therapist was like the best therapist in the world like I have him again before that therapist left he spoke so many good things about your daughter he spoke good about your daughter even though she did so many bad things to him I'm not saying “this is the kids fault” because basically if I'm saying that I would be telling myself that same thing I'm saying that didn't help your kid and that was your objective go to another place I've been to 2 places TLC and pathways send them to another place if they don't do good especially kids in foster care the caseworker is obviously going to send them to another place if they're not doing better after discharge please this place is done so many good things for me I literally struggled in the beginning I got in so many holds in the beginning so many runways in the beginning as time progressed I got better and they finally let me out and I wasn't in a hold for like 3 months

I used to go here when i was 13/14... and for everyone who has had a bad experience placeing there child here just know as for every place it has its good and bad times. I was forchinat enough to be placed here when it had a good staff systume shout out to ,Michaelis, Doug dear, Melissa, mr Tiny, mark and meany more. I also made a tone of friends who i still keep up with to this day aswell. I had the chance learn alot about myself and my problems and left a better kid who was confident and well more behaved and I still use what I learned there to this day and I'm 30. I'm unsure how the place is doing almost 20 years later or who is working there but this place randomly popped up in my my head and i just felt the need to look it up and leave a review. Words are so inadequate to express the level of gratitude that I have for Taylor and the staff at MRC. Prior to meeting Taylor, I felt terrified and helpless not knowing how to help my daughter. Taylor not only took the time to speak with me and explain the need for a recovery program for her, but he came to the hospital and spoke with her personally. Sharing his story with her and his words of encouragement helped to convince her that she needed a recovery program to overcome an alcohol dependency. Taylor and MRC quite literally saved my daughter's life. For that, I am eternally grateful.

I cannot express my gratitude for MRC! The IOP program literally saved my life. Rick and Dave were/are amazing counselors. And Taylor is such a lifesaver. He came to visit me in the hospital to tell me about MRC when I was detoxing. He was/is so hopeful and inspiring. Anybody that is dealing with an addiction, should check them out. You will not regret it, I promise. 🫶🏽

Obviously no one wants to be here, it is a psych ward. Let's get into it. Bad - the food.OMG the food sucked. The eggs at brekkie are a mystery, the snacks are the same 5 types of crackers. There is no protein and/or fat served with snacks. Dessert most lunches/dinners is fruit. Y'all, I am depressed, the least you could do is give me real dessert twice a day. I was starving 60% of the time. If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction, good luck solider. My friend who I met there can't have gluten and the lady with two missing teeth served her a fish fillet (aka gluten) on gluten free bread... -Some staff members don't seem to care and are just there for the pay check. I would say more do care though (more on that later) -The washers stink and smell like mildew and make your clothes smell like mildew. -It is loud all the time. I wish they had noise canceling headphones. Good - I had a great psych who I feel like really listened to me and my struggles. I felt like a patient to him, not just a mentally ill person. -Omg, my therapist, Langa, was AMAZING. Amy, if you are reading this, PLEASE make sure she is recognized. She had actual mini sessions with me, not just check-in's about discharge. I liked this since I was there for longer than average and discharge wasn't even on the table until my last few days. -Most of the staff were great and I felt like they cared. Normally, I would say 3/4 day staff cared while it felt like only 1.5/4 night staff cared. -We got at least 30 minutes on our cell phones a day! Most techs gave us more. A change from when I was here last time in 2021. -Lastly, many nurses were amazing, but I want to world to know how amazing nurse April is. I was on her unit for 4.5 days and I was blessed to have here working 3.5 of those days. She is kind, hilarious, honest, and trustworthy. I told her things I was too scared to tell my team since I trusted her more. Amy, again, if you are reading this, make sure April gets a cookie or something, idk but she needs to be recognized :) Overall, this place saved my life as cliché as it sounds. The days were long and boring. The weekends were even longer and more boring. However, I got stabilized enough to return to work 3 business days after discharge. I felt hope again thanks to Dr.Khan working so hard on my meds. Again, the food sucked though.

I came to Cottonwood Springs with the absolute worst heroin addiction the I think the doctor had ever seen, with the worst attitude problem possible to boot. And I came there something like 17 times. One time, Dr. Willey, the Director of the Substance Abuse Unit, kept me there for a full 30 days, refusing to release me, because he was convinced I would die of an overdose if he did. The amount of verbal abuse that poor man endured from me during those 30 days, I can never take back. And I probably WOULD HAVE died. My addiction was out of control. I was out of control. My life was unmanageable, and I had absolutely no will to live any other way, if to live at all. I was a horrible person, and I was SO horrible to the staff there...but they kept taking me back, as many times as it took. I had been an IV heroin addict for 7.5 years with no hope, who didn't even believe I'd make it to see 30. Apparently, neither did Dr. Willey, sadly. Recently, I came back to the facility to take a Continuing Education course and reconnected with them, as I am now 5 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, and 1 day clean, and a Licensed Master Addiction Counselor in the State of Kansas. I owe my life to Cottonwood Springs. And it is because of them that I want to pay it forward by helping others find recovery. (Also, this place has great food, and as someone who's been to like 7553677653 rehabs, the therapists at Cottonwood Springs REALLY know what they're doing, genuinely care, and even the techs take special care to make sure you are comfortable and you don't just feel like a number or another dollar sign to them. And they have a full actual MEDICAL staff there, so as someone with physical health issues, I felt comfortable going here without worrying I'd have to stop taking my needed medications for my other health issues. The facility is newer, clean, and really well-kept. The recreational therapist actually makes fun things for the clients to do; you don't just get shoved into the cafeteria with a bunch of craft supplies like most places. Seriously, even if Cottonwood Springs is not your first choice because "you can't smoke there anymore," they'll give you nicotine gum or patches. Decide if a cigarette is really worth your LIFE, because this is the place that is actually going to make the difference for you...make it all "click," make you "want it.") I cannot say it enough: I owe Cottonwood Springs my LIFE. Don't even think about going somewhere else. Just get in the car and drive there right now before you change your mind. They do 24 hour walk-in intakes. Take that leap of faith. They believed in me, and look where I am now. Now I believe you can do the same, whether it's for your mental health or substance abuse issues, or both. There is hope. There is help. It's on Arrapaho Drive.

Have been using the Paola VA Clinic for 2 years now. Very professional and friendly staff who always make you feel welcome and care about your health care needs. Appointments are easy to get and they value your time. Before retirement from a local government I had an excellent Blue Cross health plan that was actually the most expensive available for our city employees - my treatment, care and experience with both the Paola VA Clinic and the main VA hospital in KC have exceeded my Blue Cross plan in every way. I know all we hear about are the horror stories about the VA in various areas around the country but I can't imagine better treatment or care anywhere!

This is the place to go! It is a place where kids feel like they can be respected and treated like a human, not a problem. The level of positivity here allows them to be themselves and buy in to a way of life that works and gives them success. They get to learn how to be in this world and know their worth and value. Not only is it life-changing for the kids, but for the parents as well. The whole family stands to level up when going to Crossroads!

This program was the ultimate answer to many years of worry and prayers; my only regret is not finding it sooner. So incredibly grateful to the director and counselors for creating a safe space for our son to journey through addition recovery. He spent his high school days numbing low self esteem and avoiding life. We tried multiple solutions to no avail, until now. The light is back in his eyes! He has purpose, a plan and supportive friends. The parent support group has been a rock for me! Can't say enough positive things about our experience. I have ADHD, and there’s currently a stimulant shortage for what I normally take. I called multiple pharmacies in the area and they didn’t have any of the doses I’d normally take in stock. My coworker mentioned this place to me, so I got a lower dosage of my prescription sent to them. I called the pharmacy to let them know, and the man that answered was very polite and knowledgeable about the stimulant shortage, and even gave me information on my drug’s expiring patent that I didn’t know about. He was able to get it filled that same day, however I had issues with my prescription insurance wanting to do a preauthorization for a lower dose. This same pharmacist that helped me on the phone was very empathetic and talked me through all of the necessary steps of insurance pre authorization. He contacted my prescription insurance for me and even advocated for me on the phone with them, attempting by to bypass the unnecessary preauthorization (it was the same drug I’ve been on for over 12 years, just a slightly lower dosage, so the preauthorization for it during this stimulant shortage was very arbitrary and unnecessary.) He was very polite to me on the phone, in person, and on the phone with my insurance. This facility’s pharmacy is the only pharmacy in my area that still has the dosages of the drug that I can take. There is never a line in the pharmacy, the communication with their patients and each other is remarkable. Normally I go to CVS for my psychiatric medications, but I think I’ll just go here from now on. They are very quick to answer the phone and get prescriptions filled, and they clearly do their absolute best to advocate for their patients. Thank you Compass Health pharmacy, you saved me in the middle of this stimulant shortage, and you made the whole frustrating process of insurance preauthorization much easier for a patient like me with ADHD that gets easily overwhelmed and impatient with setbacks. You guys are awesome 💜

just got out yesterday yes i 100% can see how some of these reviews can be true, (but it’s REALLY not that bad.) most of the 1-3 stars are just people who love to complain. if your nice and don’t have any aggressive reports you’ll most likely go upstairs (you’d go there for self harm, suicide attempts, thoughts of suicide or eating disorders.) downstairs is for more aggressive people who in their report have homicidal thoughts, or actually going through with them (or just being actually INSANE.) while i was there, there was this one nurse who was absolutely amazing, she made my visit (5 days) so much better. helped me get a restraining order on my father, good mood, just amazing. the staff upstairs are nice, funny, and helpful, there was only a couple of complaints i had there, which was going to bed at 8:30pm and waking up at 7:00am, there was this one kid who made EVERY girl at our group uncomfortable, but we reported him and got him removed. the food there was somewhat good (it’s a hospital what can you expect), and if you didn’t like it you could request a box lunch (school field trip type food) and i’d say the whole time i was there i had a lot of people supporting me to actually work on my mental health, and i really feel like it helped lmao. don’t let these reviews scare you.

They truly cared for patients and continued showing us the road to recovery. Im forever greatful for getting to go to Mccallum KC for my recovery process, im forever indebted to the people there.

McCallum offered excellent care to a family member of mine. The staff created a safe, comfortable environment for my loved one to heal. They offer equine, movement groups, yoga, art groups, and meal challenges in addition to weekly therapy and dietician meetings. This program saved my loved one’s life. If you or your family is considering treatment, I encourage you to take the next step and go! My family was so nervous, but we can not recommend this program enough.

AppleCore, Clay Johnson is the BEST. He exudes class, expertise, and care during his treatment programs. When I seeked treatment, there were multiple options to choose from. It was a gut feeling to go through AppleCore. So glad I did! Clay truly cares about the work he does and does it extremely well. His program is truly one of a kind. If you are considering a location, whether on your own or court directed, I highly recommend AppleCore. His program is deliberate and will make you really dive into the core of the problem. He is an incredible listener and has a true gift for helping others. You will find that it helps others by sharing your story, as well.

This is a retraction for the earlier ones posted. I have found out that I have been thinking about the wrong company’s name. I have called to apologize for the mistake and asked if I could remove it. Fortunately for the public they don’t have the capability to remove reviews. Please don’t let my erroneous account mistake count against who seemed to be a very nice person when we discussed the situation.

This place has literally saved my life! I've been a patient for awhile and from the counselors, nurses, and rest of the staff have always treated me well while still holding me accountable. The head nurse always remembers me when I get my yearly checkup/physical, I am extremely needle-phobic and every year she makes sure to be there to draw blood for me because she does such a good job at it and she cares. I cant think of any other nurse who has ever done something like that for me, ever. BHG does make you work on rebuilding your life that was destroyed by addiction and the staff has helped me re-learn adult responsibilities and will hold you accountable but they care haven't ever given up on me. Once I was on my maintenance dose i started working full time, paying off all my debt and loans, becoming a normal person in society and even down to treating others with respect. I have worked on my treatment plan so far so good the last few years, my counselor always finds time for me and gives me alot of life skills and tools to better my recovery because addiction will always be with the person so he always has "life hacks" on not giving into the disease. Anyway, I know everyone's experience will be different when being treated for addiction, but I kind of just gave in and started the recovery process 10+ years ago at BHG Overland Park. The location is nice and in a safe part of town, since there is hardly every a wait over 15 mins.
