One of the receptionists was extremely unhelpful, not Crystal, since she’s always friendly and professional. But there was another receptionist who handled my call when I needed to reschedule one of my Wednesday appointments to Thursday. I explained that Wednesday usually works for me, but I had a dentist appointment that week, so I just needed to move that one session to Thursday. She then tried to change all of my recurring appointments to Thursdays, which wasn’t what I wanted. I told her that I still preferred Wednesdays, this was just a one-time change. She was suggesting I wait a whole extra week to do my intake appointment, I told her I didn’t want to wait an entire week; I just needed to move it to Thursday so I could complete my intake the next day. It felt like pulling teeth trying to get her to work with me. She was one-track-minded, and wasn’t thinking about the patient’s needs at all, just what was easiest for her. After finally getting her to confirm that I’d have my intake on Thursday and that future appointments would stay on Wednesdays, I thought everything was settled. But when Thursday came, I never received my Zoom link. I called Lumen Health, and they told me I wasn’t scheduled for that day at all, only for the following Wednesday with recurring Wednesday appointments. It was incredibly frustrating and felt like she hadn’t listened to a single thing I said.

Do NOT Trust these people!! I was telling this lady LYNN SPENSER some issues with my kids dads discipline styles that I didn’t necessarily like (I KNOW these people are mandated reporters I didn’t say anything that is considered “abuse”) and she told me she was calling CPS !! Wow - it’s not illegal for a dad to spank their kids but she is deeming this conversation worthy of a CPS call! How is this ok? Do not open up to these people! You are better off finding a “CR” group from your local church! Do not speak with these people about your problems they are not your friends and they don’t really care to help you.

All staff here at Lumen Health and Psychological Services Inc take privacy and security with the utmost seriousness. That includes the clients we serve and vulnerable populations such as children, at risk adult and seniors. As Mandated Reporters, based on the provided guideless of our professional licensing organizations and the state of California, we are required to make a CPS report. Sometimes the events are clear cut and sometimes not. I assure you that in no case is it an easy event for a provider to follow through with as it is never a goal to make any situation more difficult. However, with the requirements put on us, there is often not a choice in the matter and is illegal to not report a case when there is a valid concern.
Here are some details pertaining to this mater and Penal Code §§ 11166; 11165.7
A report is required when the following circumstances apply:
A mandated reporter, in their professional capacity or within the scope of their employment, has knowledge of or observes a child whom the reporter knows or reasonably suspects is the victim of abuse or neglect.
For the purposes of this article, 'reasonable suspicion' means that it is objectively reasonable for a person to entertain a suspicion based upon facts that could cause a reasonable person in a like position, drawing, when appropriate, on their training and experience, to suspect child abuse or neglect. 'Reasonable suspicion' does not require certainty that child abuse or neglect has occurred, nor does it require a specific medical indication of child abuse or neglect; any 'reasonable suspicion' is sufficient. For the purposes of this article, the pregnancy of a minor does not, in and of itself, constitute a basis for a reasonable suspicion of sexual abuse.

Other Forms of Payment

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

My son saw one of their therapists, and she told him that he is lazy and using me, his mother, for money, during his first appointment. He stopped seeing her after that. I had to explain to him that he was none of those things and that the therapist was in the wrong. I do not recommend anyone with mental health issues to see her. She does not show compassion or have empathy for her patients. Her behavior was extremely inappropriate, and she should not be in the mental health field, because she can do real damage to people’s mental health.
