He had been in other treatment programs before Summit and Summit was the most impactful for him. One thing that stood out was the supportive community, where vulnerability became possible. This was facilitated by all the staff and the program structure, but the guides stood out; in contrast to other programs the guides at summit are not only well-trained but they are devoted to the kids in a way that allows them to be both boundary setters and confidantes and mentors. Another standout element was the well thought out program--from the goals work in therapy to the structured planning for home visits. The regular feedback among the team members (the kids) was a huge asset in making this program work. At summit the kids are never made to feel that they are bad as they are in some programs; the balance between connection and support and holding boundaries is what really makes this program a standout among its peers. It use to be a lot different years ago. You wanted to get sober it may have taken weeks to get in for your initial appointment Nowadays with everything on the app/online it’s a blessing as you can be using today and be sober tomorrow. You have to do your part. I’m grateful for the program. They will work with you and your schedual. My only gripe is they don’t offer a long term option for people who are stuck on suboxone for pain management. And that the turn over rate for counselors is super high. They will work with you and do anything they can to help you as long as you’re doing your part and even help you with anything else you may need housing finding a dr, anything you just got to ask. - E . I have had a total of three case managers during that time (I was only with the first one for about a month before she had to take time off for some reason, they put me with #2 and I adored her and opted not to go back to #1 when she came back). Both times my case manager put referrals in for counseling for me, I was situated with a counselor in less than a month! I am a person who requires a TON of support, for example: I have very bad PTSD, including severe medical trauma, but I am also physically disabled and trying to navigate getting that figured out, which means I have to go to a lot of medical appointments but my PTSD makes it very hard. Both my previous CM and my new one are very willing to accompany me to appointments to make sure my PTSD symptoms don't interfere with my treatment and so that I can remember what was talked about. I also require support in nearly every other aspect of my life, and I have always been pleased with my CMs abilities to help When CM#2 had an emergency that took them out of work, Health Affiliates had me with a new case manager in less than a week. I also really like that I can view all of my progress notes and other documents from home using the web portal. All of the providers I have worked with (CM and counseling) have been open minded and respectful of my "alternative" faith, and of my sexuality. Jenna 1 year ago I think this organization is wonderful. I've been seeing a counselor without having to travel anywhere, and we do weekly video visits. She referred a case manager for me, and I haven't met her yet, but I feel like she is going to be the perfect fit for me and help me achieve some goals. Casco Bay saved my life literally! I was at my lowest of lows when I called for info. It was the scariest calls I have ever made. The staff was so welcoming and understanding of my situation. From the day I showed up to the day I left all the staff were totally incredible. I instantly felt comfortable and truly trusted these people that I just met. I felt safer with the staff than any other person including my best friends. There hole mission was to help me and in the first time in my life I felt Like I belong and feel safe. I have never in my 56 years have ever felt peace like that and I still feel that way. They have given me not my old life back but a much better one. One that I never knew I could have. I can't say enough about the sober living provided by Casco Bay too. The house managers played a huge role in my recovery. From having coffee every morning to after dinner and going to meetings they were great. Everybody including the owners and managers are all in recovery.
