I’ve been going to Marblehead Counseling Center for a couple years now, and i have had nothing but good experiences there. They understand the issues that i have and have helped to work around them and the work we’ve put in has been showing results and honestly given how bad things have been for years i feel relieved. I had an amazing, amazing stay. The dining staff made delicious food, especially the desserts. My only drawback would be that the facility is understaffed as far as techs go, but their drive, empathy, and kindness more than made up for it. I would especially like to thank Christine for being an ANGEL on Earth, and Annemarie for her dedication and care. The nursing staff did everything they could to ensure a comfortable, safe experience. I would recommend this facility to anyone experiencing a mental health crisis.

Such a great place! From the moment I very nervously, and hesitantly walked in I was treated with compassion and respect. I was in real trouble, my drinking was out of control for a long time, and my health and family were suffering. Serenity got me safely detoxed and sober, and then taught me how to stay that way. I started my recovery on October 26, 2021 in drug addiction. I had put myself into detox and they had her originally sent me to another place for IOP. Needless to say that didn’t work out for very long. It wasn’t a good fit so, I requested a different facility. By the grace of God I found Aftermath in December of 2021. At this time in my life, I had low self-esteem and literally hated myself for the things I had done. I barely have any contact with family, and I was dealing with all the trauma from my past. The very first day at Aftermath I knew this was the place for me. The owner Matt and my counselor Nikki and the rest of the staff made me feel so comfortable and welcome. I was very shy at first but, I was able to open up quicker than I thought would ever happen. By the time my insurance wouldn’t cover anymore of the treatment ,I was still on a deferred disposition through the courts and Matt was willing to let me stay until it was completed which might’ve been another six months or so without getting any pay. Without this program, I don’t think I would’ve succeeded. October 26, 2026 will be four years. Thank you to everybody at Aftermath for everything you have done. I love you all 💙💙

Zoom meetings have given me 4 years sober. Never would have known if I did not go to RCA. Not only meetings but the events that are offered are a game changer in my recovery. I was angry leaving my initial one star review because I felt lied to and deceived. I was told I’d be lucky to make it back to this place… meaning that I’d be dead and not be able to make it back. I was told I would be dead cause of how “horrible and defiant” I was. I did not like AA was not for me so I was going to die. Many people that worked here told me. My case worker gossiped about me to a whole group of my peers saying “one of you is going down a dark road” really? These are the people to trust? These are the people “getting me better.” Also they said the bill would not need to be paid and I kept getting harassed by AP office I believe in Florida? So I was furious.
So my initial review was one star and I left out words because I wrote a nasty review and had to erase them.
I wanted to come back and edit my one star review to a five star. Cause here I am, over 5 years later, still going strong as ever in my recovery, and I have a place that is mine, I have a good steady job, and I’m free of the chains of addiction. Whether I like it or not, my experience here is what lead me to where I am today. There was some amazing staff that was overworked and under paid so if by some grace of god they are still there, god bless. I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt and say they were trying reverse psychology on me, the staff talking crap about me to other peers, the staff saying I’d be dead. But they were not that smart, they genuinely were telling me I was hopeless. I won’t name you but I know that you know who you are.
Now I sit here over 5 years later thinking that maybe if you did not spend so much time talking down and being hateful and judgmental to me, maybe all my brothers in program with me that are dead now, would still be alive if you paid them that energy. But it is what it is right? I don’t equate my success to NEATC, hell no. I put my success on my shoulders. I easily could have taken yall saying I’d be dead soon and actually gone and died. But I didn’t. I spit in all your faces and I proved all of you wrong. I did it for me. I did it for my brothers who died due to the lack of care they received wether insurance was poor or you just focused more on me being defiant than their complacent obedience to your AA. What works for some does not work for all. It’s your hate that drove the fight in me to succeed. I see my brothers in the program with me that never will get to share their smiles with the world, I can share the smile they taught me. I can share their message and I will not let them down.
That’s why I have 5 stars. This place did exactly what it needed to. Just like life, drove me insane, judged me, hate on me, gave me a place to live full of rats and mice, financial issues to battle, had to face death, had to hear pain like no other, and was not the smoothest ride. But through the pain and darkness of life there is always light, you can be that light. You can change. Amidst all the bad, there was a handful of AMAZING staff and people that gave me a real life experience I will never ever ever forget. Just like life this place is not perfect, we need to take the challenges and push on. I loved this place. And always will. This place did heal me. Not how I wanted but how I needed. Just like real life. I noticed my growth as I wanted to change my one star review. Even after all the trouble, I pushed through and fought and still see the light. I am still a light that will not be dimmed. And this place is a HUGE part of the reason I am who I am today. An amazing light in a dark dark world. This place put a challenge in front of me, life is not easy, you need to put in the work, and when life punches, you need to punch back harder.
Thank you NEATC and the amazing staff I can’t imagine would still be working here but if you are I love you. Forever I love you, and miss you, and wish you the best. I would love to come speak one day at an event, I don’t live close by anymore but I’d love to make something so please contact. Anyone wondering if they should come here, yes. Yes you should.

I was lucky enough to have found out about this facility in February of 2025. Words can not even describe how amazing the staff! My first night there was extremely hard for me and Petra was absolutely amazing ! I wanted to leave , I didn't feel good and she was able to calm me down and keep me there. My case worker Nicole was the best! I felt like she truly cared and wanted to help me get thru my time at the facility and she helped me set up outpatient care so that when I left Mayflower I was all set with good resources. This place was the beginning of redemption story and gave me a phenomenal foundation to start my recovery journey!

My first impression of Mayflower was an amazing. I felt so comfortable with the staff immediately, they made me feel so welcomed and supportive. The staff was unbelievably knowledgeable in addition. I felt safe and well taken care of. My room was first class with my own TV. The food was cooked by a chef and was unbelievable. I was most impressed with the Director of the program. He did a morning group everyday to address any concerns we may have and to impress how he was there to help the clients. Very professional and comfortable at the same time. 10 out of 10. The best in Massachusetts if not the North East.

I highly recommend Rockland Recovery for anyone looking to learn about recovery and the Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book. It goes in depth teaching the steps involved to beat addiction and the staff really does care about you. You are actually a human being and not a number. All of the staff is exceptional and are extremely passionate about their excellent program here!
Shawn is an awesome teacher here at Rockland Recovery! His approach to teaching about addiction and recovery is always well received by the community as they can relate to his experiences. His easy going and laid back attitude makes it very easy for the community to speak the truth about their own struggles with addiction and feel okay about it. Rockland Recovery PHP/IOP is by far the best treatment program in Massachusetts. From start to finish, they truly go above and beyond. If you need detox or residential first, they handle everything — they check your insurance and place you in the most appropriate luxury detox and residential program before you even begin with them.
Once you step down to their PHP/IOP, the support gets even better. They offer both men’s-only and women’s-only sober living, plus transportation to and from treatment every day. If you prefer to drive, they even allow you to keep your car during the first week. The sober living homes are clean, quiet, and extremely accommodating — nothing like a typical halfway house. Living together, going to AA/NA meetings as a community, and even having an in-house Sunday speaker meeting from alumni truly strengthens recovery.
They operate two addiction co-occurring facilities and one mental health facility, and the staff at all locations are incredibly accepting and supportive. At Rockland Recovery Braintree (where I attended), the program focuses on AA-based coursework, not the same repetitive classes most rehabs offer. Every day brings new information, and over 75% of the staff are either in recovery themselves or have a loved one who is, which makes a huge difference. Every facilitator is licensed and genuinely knowledgeable.
If you’re considering PHP/IOP in Boston or Greater Boston, this is the place. They also have the largest alumni program in the state, with monthly events for both current and former clients. Their weekly AA speaker meeting in Milton is the best around (previously held in Quincy).
My only suggestion: I wish they offered a Zoom option for the Tuesday alumni meeting for people who can’t make it in person. If they streamed it online, attendance would definitely triple.
Other than that, Rockland Recovery is exceptional in every way. Highly recommend!

A truly amazing place staffed with kind, caring, wonderful, professional, fun, generous, thoughtful, and highly-skilled staff (I could go on) who are experts in ED recovery. My therapist at Laurel Hill is by far the best therapist I have ever had — I learned so much from her and am still in awe of how she challenged me and ED narratives. The clinical director treats clients like family and invests her time and energy into each and every one of us — she spent her Christmas holiday with clients baking cookies, enjoying holiday kareoke, and other festivities that she planned for us… it was a special holiday, filled with so much love and support. The nursing staff are SO cool and kind. The RCs are absolutely the best.. I don’t know how they do such a specialized and demanding job and do it SO well, all while getting to become so close with the clients.
I would 100% recommend this place to anyone struggling with an eating disorder. I had lost hope when I entered treatment, and now I look forward to the day when I can say I am fully recovered, because thanks to the LH team, I know that day will come.

I came to this hospital with my husband, who has a heart condition. His surgery hasn't been scheduled yet, but I don't know how to thank everyone I've met here. They were wonderful, professional, and humble. Even Dr. Stanley is fantastic; he's so patient and takes the time to talk to his patients and explain their condition so they feel reassured and completely at ease. I thank God that we are in this hospital; it's like being in a five-star hotel. Even the food and the people who serve it are excellent. As for Emily, what a loss! East Coast Recovery is amazing! It’s amazing because the people that work there are incredible and they care very much about seeing clients succeed. I initially planned on being at East Coast on a week to week basis, not knowing how it was going to be before I got there. If you are ready to accept help & want to make a positive change in your life you should definitely call them. I go to the Peabody clinic & it has been a great experience. Honestly I had no expectations I think except maybe I was just another number walking through the door & that has been the furthest thing from the truth. Everyone, I mean Everyone has been amazing. They care, I honestly believe that. They want to see you succeed in your recovery. When you walk in they remember you name, they are all very pleasant, which helps me so much going to a place that have a great staff. The security staff always smile & remember peoples names (incredible), the front desk are great, they are welcoming & funny, the nurses are always very pleasant & interact with you. I have the best counselor. She is amazing & so easy to talk to. She has been a rock for me in my recovery, I can’t say enough about her. I have interacted a bit with the head counselor too & she has gone out of her way to help me when she was slammed with work & it’s when I was new to the clinic. I really appreciated that. I just want to mention the director. She has been wonderful wherever I have interacted when her. She has been pleasant, calls me by my name which is impressive to me anyway because I don’t see her much, but she remembers my name just the same. That says a lot to me about the type of person that leads the clinic. As you can tell I am a big fan of the place. They have helped me tremendously in getting over this mountain that I have been struggling with for a decade or so. When I see some of these negative reviews I don’t think it’s how 99.99% of the people going there feel. Most people only write reviews to complain. This clinic has i believe over 600 patients. Honestly if you are having a bad situation where you are not happy it’s most likely because you messed up and are paying the consequences for your own actions. We are in this clinic to begin with because of bad decisions, bad roads we chose to take. The rules won’t change from the day you decide to join to your last day after you complete the program. If you take care of your end of the deal they will live up to their end. Even if you relapse they will be there to pick you back up, encourage you and stick by you as long as it takes. I give a ton of credit & really appreciate the work that these people do. If you want help, call .. they will help you like they have everyone else.

Then I see Michelle she has been a truly great person, she always ask me if I am ok never mad always smiling. The nurses are Top Knots and unusually helpful and resourceful. The counselors that exist are all fair and kind, but constant short staffing and management issues cause a great place to only get a good rating. This is a for-profit clinic, so the higher up the management chain one goes, the further away an addict in recovery is from recovery. Unfortunately this company owns most of the clinics in the area, so one does not have a choice. This is also not unusual. There is no handicapped accessible entrance. You can go in the back way, around the back of the hospital, but you still have to walk a very good distance to the front door, and once inside it's very small so a person with mobility issues is going to struggle. I don't suggest anyone with mobility issues goes to this Clinic. He Corrections Officers in the back of the hospital, they have an entrance for the prisoners there. There is constant clashing with the handicapped clients and the Corrections Officers because there's no real protocol for handicapped patients. But overall this is a good place. Small, and they don't put up with any of the usual nonsense that goes on.( There are very few drug deals if at all that will go on here!). The security guard is top-notch as well and is very fair but firm. If you are not looking for Recovery, I suggest you go somewhere else because you won't last long here. I've had some personal issues with the take-home protocol as well as the short staffing resulting in treatment plans not being effectively instituted, but again this is management and has nothing to do with the day to day staff.
