( I have medicaid. Which makes me less fortunate then others who pay for there insurance) so after about a year and a half. Outside of that the groups are excellent the facilitators truely care, and the people who are the ones that really make the groups they are great. I thibk due to the telahealth aspect people are more willing to dig into there traumas and passed. I can only hope they 1 day accept medicaid again not only for me but all the other addicts and alcoholics who cant afford insurance to 1 day be able to receive treatment in the same manor I did. The care I received from start to finish was extraordinary. Every physician I worked with—Dr. Hellerman (Endocrinology), Dr. Newman (Surgery), and Dr. Indich (Primary Care)—took the time to truly listen, explain everything clearly, and treat me like a person rather than a chart number. The team at Yorktown Imaging was equally wonderful, keeping my spirits high and putting me at ease during my pre-op MRI. On surgery day, everything ran like clockwork. Admissions was private and efficient. A patient care concierge explained the tracker system to my husband so he could follow my progress, and my prep nurse was attentive, communicative, and made sure he could sit with me before surgery. Dr. Newman took extra care to place the incision where scarring would be minimal, and the anesthesiology team kept me completely informed. Recovery staff managed my post-anesthesia nausea immediately, and Dr. Newman checked on me before I was discharged to rest at home. Post-op follow-up has been fantastic—calls were returned promptly, and one week out I have minimal pain, zero complications, and feel better every day. After a a terrible two months in the hospital, my dad had weakened his swallow muscles and couldn’t eat or drink. He had a stomach feeding tube when he entered the rehab facility. He wasn’t walking independently but Amanda Burkart, the speech pathologist at Christian health brought so much energy, positivity and consistency in her care that my dad started eating and drinking and passed his swallow test. The nurse and care staff: Jetta, Nancy, Akina and Marwa were all so attentive and caring. I also appreciated Trisha who helped me manage all the follow up appointments for my dad. I had steak, burritos, pho, Thai, lasagna, pasta, bbq, burgers, and more. Across 6 weeks I think they only repeated a dish 4-6 times. And there's a salad bar and panetta/sandwich bar every meal. Many kids ate grilled cheese every meal instead of grown-up food and vegetables, so I would take their complaints with a pinch of salt, hah. Reading the other reviews is amusing. Bear in mind the complaints are coming from sick people, and it is frustrating to not find a silver bullet for very real and severe illnesses. Some people enter thinking this is a spa vacation. It is not. Your healing will require you to do work on yourself as well. Never again in my life will I ever go to this hospital again. It’s disgusting how they not only treat black women but how it’s no actual Supervising Attendings working on the delivery floor. My baby was delivered C-section by RESIDENTS and an anesthesiologist who wasn’t that good also being that I kept having to tell him “OUCH I FEEL THAT WHY ARE THEY UNDER MY BREAST I FEEL THEIR HANDS INSIDE OF ME” he responded “ really that’s strange” while laying on the operating table. I went in August 21st I delivered on August 22nd at 11:43am I was on the table until 1:30pm from originally being transported to the OR at 10:45am my partner was kicked out for asking what are they doing to me, 5 hours after being cut open a 3rd year resident came to my room to ask me if I can get up and WALK while only being given 3 Tylenols for the pain and without them doing the foot and leg feeling test first. They told me they encourage woman to walk as soon as possible to recover faster as if it was some sort of race to heal and get out of their hospital. I feel like I was in a nightmare. I delivered my other 2 kids in Long Island at St. Catherine’s of Sienna in Smithtown, Suffolk County and I never had a bad experience or delivery with them. But this third time around was TREACHEROUS and I see why NYC has such a bad reputation. I literally had to ask for stronger pain meds being that I was basically being harassed to get up and walk the same day. Had it not been for the Nurses that work their and it’s only a few CHELSEA, LATOYA, REGINA, RAY, and VICKI (Labor& delivery RN’s) and the Social Worker ELIZABETH I promise I would have called emergency services to be transported to a new hospital because the rest of that place was disgusting. I cried my eyes out for the experience I had. NO WOMAN SHOULD EVER HAVE THEIR CHILD BIRTH EXPERIENCE feel like a racist battlefield let alone a living awake nightmare I will be scarred for the rest of my life having PTSD from this hospital. My incision started bleeding at 2am i didn’t get checked by a resident until 6:30am and was told I’m fine I’m not bleeding no more she didn’t even bother to cover my incision back up until I requested it be covered back up to avoid infection.. to be continued being that google wont allow my whole post to upload I have to make a secondary post to talk about the chest pain I was having and IGNORED ABOUT.
