Their staff has always been exceptional, especially Courtney Hulse and Dan Sexton, who go above and beyond in tailoring their treatment plans for each client and family. Mountainside serves as a tremendous resource, providing quality substance abuse treatment that is critically needed here on Long Island. My experience with Mountainside has been nothing but positive. Jessica Leone has been key in my recovery. She consistently has a positive attitude, provides great insights and experiences. Jessica listens well and challenges me. She is open whenever needed and feels like one of my biggest supporters. I appreciate all that she does.

Putting my review in a nutshell,"my mother always told me to "fake it until you make it" and by becoming a rehabilitated human being at,Carnegie Hill Institute,again,I no longer have to fake it. And if there were anyone else I'd thank,besides the Lord,for seeking life' purpose,I thank the generosity of spirit and the way they come from love first and of in their successes at making sure I can regain the trust of others because they trust in me. And without gaining the trust of others,it takes away your will to live.

I've been a client at Carnegie Hill Institute for quite a number of years. I had been in treatment for years, and I can sincerely state that the treatment plans offered by the staff are the most effective that I have encountered so far.

She’s the kind of person who always has time for you, always points you in the right direction, and somehow knows exactly what to say when you need it most. Enter Erin — the Obi-Wan Kenobi of Seafield. She’s a veteran, a guide, and a master of calm wisdom. She’s been holding it down for years, and it shows. Between her and Debbie, you’ve got the dream team. And then there’s Dan — the Shaolin monk of Seafield. No robe, but all the zen. If you’re lost, stressed, confused, or just need something done, Dan is the man. Reliable, kind, and solid as a rock. If you let this place work for you — and you put in the effort — you’ll walk out with more than you came in with. I know I did.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Seafield. It basically saved my life and has guided me to a much healthier and happier way of living. I have 1 year sober, and I give much credit to this facility for getting me so where I am today. From the West Hampton rehabilitation center, to the women’s sober house, to the outpatient counseling and meetings, it has been nothing short of wonderful and life changing. I have acquired so much from the amazing counseling and people that work here, the way you feel accepted and understood is profound. If you’re looking for help in addiction and turning your life around, you’ve found the right place!

I give them five stars because I am diabetic and they on it like definitely on it. The only thing I don’t like is back to back appointments. I do not receive Medicaid and this is out come from my pockets so financially it hurts a little bit but as for the doctors, they perfectly great great, the only thing I said is back to back appointment for the same thing with different doctors but other than that, they absolutely great

I was there multiple times it was great in my experience the staff were nice and supportive, the food was good um beds are alright yes there was codes called however you got remember that people are there for a reason and thing will happen but the staff made sure everyone was alright and safe in the hospital I made good friends I was in the girls until and i do recommend it

This is the first hospital that my daughter received proper treatment. The staff is exceptional, its clean and updated, she loves the food and she is fussy. I was very pleasantly surprised. Dont listen to the negative reviews. Trust me this facility can really help your loved ones.

They treated me with respect. I was there 2x in there rehab, 1x in detox an once in there adult psych unit. The food was ok. The doctors were good, nurses and techs were friendly and great counselors and productive groups. No smoking or caffeine but it’s like that everywhere in NY because of state rules. Otherwise states are different. Most of the rehabs are based out of psych or medical hospitals. There rehab unit even got me into a long term facility. All I can say to the kids unit is, your young and like your freedom. You’re not going on a vacation, it’s not summer camp and you can’t have your phone or iPad. You’ll be locked in for a reason. Your safety. It’s designed for people in crisis. I know you can’t see the mental health aspect and I couldn’t at that age either. You probably won’t think there is anything wrong with you. You’ll probably going to be bored. Don’t get involved with other patients to much. You may see things you don’t like or shouldn’t. Remember everyone’s mental health journey and level of stability are different and some kids may have more issues then yours. I would highly recommend not making long term friends in there. This isn’t summer camp or school. You’ve all got a lot of things going on in your life. Being a kid ain’t easy and very stressful. You’re here to keep you safe from harming yourself and/or anyone else. Just ride it out. Make it a goal to take care of yourself so you don’t end up back and for the parents, please take charge of yourself child’s mental health. Psychiatrist and psychologist visits and take whatever medication is prescribed and monitor your child. If they are having side effects, talk to the doctor. My parents took me to doctors but didn’t understand my mental health issues and were not what I needed as parents by badgering me. Listen to your kids and be open and most important listen so they can be open with you. Empathy and understand is important to kids or they won’t tell you what’s going on and it will make matters worse. Mental illness tends to run in families sometimes and when the parent doesn’t address their own, that effects a child’s. Your child will not be cured when they come out. Don’t just leave your kid with their own meds and expect they’ll take it. This could also pose a safety concern. If you don’t know how to handle your teenager and they’re out of control, seek support groups and resources. Your not alone. Kids should learn from this visit to make sure they take care of their mental health but they need their parents too for help support. This place isn’t going be like Disney land but it’s a holding place for people that are a danger to themselves and others. All those are rules are in place for a reason TRUST me. Read, draw, write, color, watch TV, play games and study to pass the time. Hopefully this helps some of you.
