Midwest saved me if not for Midwest and the staff and specific people like Josh Jason my case manager David Jess Autumn Gabe Ms Trish Dale Wendell the nurse Kansas and the therapist Tim i would have done detox and left and went right back to using but the above people I specifically mentioned gave me hope to know they all was where I had been and just seeing how happy and how there life is was Soo motivating and they all took the time out to not just talk but have conversations with me they really care and I cannot be more greatful for each and every one of them they are not the only reason I am where I am today but they all play a huge part in my sobriety I will never forget them and I couldn't be more Greatful that God placed them in my life without them I do not think I would have made it.... I hope they all are aware how much they ALL mean to alot of us that came thru the program.... I can never repay them or Midwest for what they have given me.... They guided me through all the emotions taught me the tools I needed to get myself back.... They all hold a very special place in my heart I love each and every one of them .... Arrowhead treats addicti | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Arrowhead cared for me when I was unable to care for myself. From the time I walked through the door to the time I left, they cared. They bend over backwards to move us to a healthy mindset to succeed. It's not uncommon for The Admistrators to come out of their offices and walk through Unit and talk to us and ask how can they help us on our journey and address our needs. What can they do to improve? I know this personally because one day this lady dressed in sparkling white was walking through the Unit with a clipboard. I asked "Sooo are you the Good Witch of the East?". She smiled (and that particular day I needed that smile) and replied "Actually I'm the CEO". I was like "So you're in charge?" She continued to smile as she nodded her head. I asked if we can go on a field trip. She laughed and said not now, but after you're discharged you can anywhere you want. Then she asked if I had a couple of minutes and we sat and had a conversation. She immediately started taking notes. How was I being treated, did I have additional needs they could accommodate and questions along that line. We talked for 20 - 30 minutes. Why would a CEO talk to ME for that long?...because she and her staff really do care. I have no doubt that should ANYBODY findself themself in a situation where they realize they need some help, Arrowhead is where you wanna start. They've got your 6.

The staff were phenomenal. They were empathetic.
Knowing what patients have gone through in life did not affect their professionalism or their morals. I truly appreciated that. I would recommend this hospital to any and everyone. I pray they get an adolescent wing.
There were groups that motivated us to think outside the box. Mindful exercise to open our mind, heart and spirit
There were spiritual groups to help us grow inside, look to/for a higher power. My higher power is God. They knew that and they were accommodating with it all. There were groups to help grow in patience and giving ourselves grace...We are human not computers but we are able to reset, step back,
start again...the next minute, next day. One day at a time. It's ok🥹
.P.S. Austin, you're great, no matter what. I'll also be praying for you to receive a bonus $$ real soon🤜🏾 and make sure you send me half of it😊 (inside joke)

They are great. From the owner & wife to director to case managers to housing and facilitators, they actually care. Ive been to several area treatment facilities and almost all just play games and view you as cattle with no concern about you actually progressing. Vital actually does, and works with their clients to get their life back on track in a transparent honest way. I was losing hope with the modern treatment scene and Vital proved there are still good ones. A great locally owned company, everyone there is real.

I’ve been seeing Jim and known him for years and he has been the best therapist I’ve ever got the opportunity to speak too. Doesn’t sugar coat anything and gives very good wise advice that has definitely helped me out. I recommend him to anyone that needs someone to talk to too have a better outlook on life

You know, I've been seeing Jim for about fifteen years now. I've often said that finding a good therapist is a bit like finding a romantic partner: It's topsy, it's turvy and one like or another you're probably going to get screwed. But Jim has kept me grounded in that time and most importantly away from killing myself (always a risk). I'm sure I do not always agree with him on material or political matters, but that's part of what makes the relationship special.
Jim has kept me from some dark places. You won't always like what he has to say, but you'll always need to hear it. I credit him with keeping me alive and what else can you say of a man?

I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for the incredible support I received from Unison. After experiencing an accident, I had to join a program while also managing communication with the court — a very stressful time in my life. Thankfully, my consultant Chyna was with me every step of the way. She went above and beyond, offering guidance, encouragement, and all the resources I needed.
I also want to recognize Mrs. Gaston, whose warmth and kindness lifted me during one of my lowest moments. Her support made a huge difference, and I’ll never forget the role she played in helping me through.
I’m currently working with Bruce, and he’s been great — professional, understanding, and consistent.
Thank you to everyone at Unison. Your dedication and compassion truly changed my life. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Here's something I wrote on my last night in res:
Treatment has been one of the best things for me. Three months ago, I was a shell of a human. I don't recognize the person she was. And I don't want to. She was miserable and just didn't know it yet. I was the girl who argued this was fun. But when I went to treatment, a whole new world opened up for me. I had the chance to be seen by people who not only understood me, but understood how to help. I had the chance to learn, to grow, and to make mistakes. For the longest time, I was in and out of behaviors, trying to fight the process. But one day, I stopped fighting it. So what if I eat food? So what if I don't look like I want? Who cares? You only live this life once, why spend it flirting with death? That's the type of shit I hated hearing, but now? These are things I can not only say, but believe.
I never wanted to get better. I never wanted to come here, but I did. I did and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
Everyone thinks residential is some scary place where they force food down your throat and all the clients stab each other in the back whenever they can, but it doesn't have to be that way. I learned how to make friends. I made the strongest connections with the sweetest people who hurt just as deeply as I did. We talked, we joked, we laughed, we held each other accountable, and we cried when they left. Your support system is so important. If you can't do it for yourself yet, do it for those in the milieu.
Listen to the staff, listen to your therapists. They gave me my life back. When I look back now, I don't understand myself. I don't understand the girl who wanted nothing more than to shrink. That's not living. I wasn't living. I was dying. I just didn't want to admit it, even at my sickest. I don't know why I thought that was the only way life could be. Life is so much more than that when food isn't the enemy or when food isn't your only way of communication. I never thought I could do it. I never thought I could get better. I never thought I'd leave the cycle. But I did.
I'm not done recovering. I still have a long way to go. Maybe I will never stop recovering. But that doesn't sound so scary anymore. It really doesn't. I'll always have thoughts, but now I know what it's like to have something good in life. There's more to life than suffering. And that's beautiful. I never thought I'd get the point that I'm at today. But I did.
I have made so many friends, learned so many things, and had so many amazing experiences.
So, I'm sitting here, the night before I leave residential, crying. Not crying because I'm sad or upset, but crying because I'll miss this place. The experiences, both good and bad, my friends who I will miss dearly, and the staff that coached me and comforted me. While leaving may be scary and I'm leaving so much behind, the biggest thing I'm leaving behind is my eating disorder. And that's powerful. Seeing myself three months ago, I did the impossible. I'm leaving Residential. And while there are many mixed emotions, the most important, I'm feeling hopeful. I'm feeling confident that everything will be okay, and food really isn't as bad as it might seem. So take it from me, or don't. That's your choice. But you know what else is your choice? Recovery. And recovery IS possible. For anyone, whether you believe it or not. I didn't believe I could recover, I wasn't even sure if. I wanted to. But look at where I am now. I'm doing the impossible, because maybe "impossible" isn't as hard as I thought it would be.

I cannot express how much this place has done for me in the past few months. Aster Springs Ohio, doesn't just heal you externally, but also deep down internally. The facility itself is so welcoming. There are comfy chairs, sofas, and beds that make you feel right at home. And when you feel homesick, your treatment team and the staff will try anything to make you feel better. There are connection calls you can make at night, and every week there's some kind of outing, such as the library or the movies. When I first came, my expectations were extremely low, but for my first residential program, I was pleasantly surprised. Unlike some other programs, Aster Springs focuses on community and branching out to others for guidance, instead of the primary focus of restoration. I will say this: the food here is very tasty. I recommend the hot pastrami sandwich as well as one of the DCS's homemade pizzas. I love how in Aster Springs, everyone has a say in what they want, and you will never be unacknowledged. All of the DCS staff and RCS staff are very pleasant to talk to, especially when you are feeling low one day and your treatment team isn't available. Another thing I love about Aster Springs is the diversity of treatment from adolescents to adults. As an adolescent client, I felt like the treatment was guided towards teens, and the adult treatment was guided towards adults. I admit, hyping yourself up to go to residential isn't the easiest thing, but Aster Springs is so worth it. Recovery is so worth it. I am grateful for how they make you focus on recovery, and not numbers, by covering up labels and things like that. Whoever needs a supportive, caring, inclusive, specialized, and talented community to support their recovery, Aster Springs Ohio, is the way to go. Shoutout to Dietitian Trish and Therapist Kam for being the best treatment team ever, and helping me when things got rough. And thanks to all the DCS staff, especially you, Elena, for making such preferred food and making me smile. Thanks to Kelsey for hosting the most amazing groups, and thanks to Abbey and all the nursing staff for making sure that we're all comfortable during this process. Lastly, thank you to the entire Aster Springs staff for healing the part of me I didn't know was possible, and I would definitely recommend this facility! (past patient #thatpower)

This center has questionable front staff who laugh at others' misery, but their psychiatrists and nurse practitioners are getting better at listening to patients...

I've been an addict for 20 years. I have tried quitting on my own, jails, multiple rehabs and IOPs and have honestly never had the peace that I have found here.I've been at Racing for recovery for a little less than a week and in this time I feel more alive, more accepted, and more appreciated than I have in years maybe even my entire life. For the first Time in forever I feel seen and I feel heard. I would recommend this place to anybody and everybody. I have even changed my diet to go along with the holistic approach that Todd Crandall has set forth and I already have more energy than meth ever gave me and I'm clear headed. like I'm happy I'm genuinely happy, and I walk outside I see the sunshine and I dance in the street listening to music and smiling. do you know how long it's been since I genuinely smiled from my soul? I couldn't be happier.
If you are tired... like genuinely tired of where your life is at right now, the uncertainties, the loneliness, hunger, constantly looking over your shoulder, nobody trusting you, not knowing where you're going to lay your head... If you're tired of feeling unwanted and you're eaten up with guilt and shame, I fully recommend this place. They really have so much to offer and you don't have to worry about being in a lockdown facility where they just cram the same so-called treatment down everybody's throat for "one size fits all" that comes from a handbook.. everyone in this community is so accepting and they genuinely care. they get to know you on an individual basis and they really listen to what you have to say. this is a beautiful place with beautiful people who've walked in your shoes. I get it I really really do as I said I've been an addict for over 20 years and I've never been happier and I am right now. Here you can find yourself and you can learn to love yourself and have a chance to rebuild a better life for you and your family. Please don't lose hope, give them a call, I promise you won't regret it.

I am a UT nursing student and we had the pleasure of coming to this facility for a clinical experience. I found it to be very helpful as a student because we always tell our patients that one of the best interventions and ways to cope include support groups and peer support. Most of the time you don’t get that experience unless you are in need of it so it was very helpful to attend a group and to actually see how helpful it can be to those who need it. Everyone in the group was supportive of each other and overall it was a very nice experience. The facility is great and the staff was amazing. I would highly recommend racing for recovery!

My daughter had an EEG recently. The technician Megan was very kind, she explained things very well and provided excellent care! Elizabeth was very friendly, thoughtful and gave my daughter a bottle of water so I wouldn't have to run out to my vehicle to get one.
Thank you both for the exceptional service!

I have been going to Harbor behavioral health for psychiatric care and I even started out going there for therapy. It has been the most life-changing and wonderful/painful/tear filled/confusing, but ultimately hopeful experience I have ever had. They are changing my life. Sarah Bailey was my psychiatrist right after my psychosis and she was with me for the past two years. She helped me learn to walk and was there for me every time I had a crisis. She and Nikki were my cheerleaders through the toughest time in my life. Alexya Romo was the counselor that I found there and she is still my counselor to this day. If it wasn’t for these people, I don’t think I’d be where I am today. And yeah, I can’t speak for everyone but the team I got were all-stars. Fast forward to today: a woman named Mallory took Nikki’s place and she is very responsive, kind, and caring. I don’t know her well but I know she cares about her job. My new psychiatrist is Angela and we are still learning about each other and I think she is doing a good job listening to me and connecting with me. I think she has healthy and strong boundaries as a practitioner. Which makes me think she is trustworthy and that is a great place to start. Thanks guys.
