I realize that each of us have our own unique experience. But I will say for the VA that if you go to the trouble of filing a complaint in Dayton about any questionable or just bad treatment, that they take your complaint very seriously. They also hold the department or agency at the center of the complaint responsible. In regards to my complaint not only did the VA call me directly but a representative of the department concerning the complaint asked me to come into meet with them so they could hear directly what changes I was wanting or needing. Sometimes we lose people, and when that happens these words dont mean much. Its the worse experience of our life. None of us ever want it and we all dread it. In those cases there isnt any words that help. But for current situations outside of those circumstances like mine, my experience has been positive. Ive found 1 or 2 Drs that need to go back to bed-side manner school. One of them the class about fraternization and compassion and another about the privacy rights of secretly recording visits without the patients knowledge or consent. My VA office is in Lima Ohio. The facility is spotless and my appointments are always prompt and on time. Never have I waited uncomfortable periods of time and most times Ive barely set down before their calling my name after checking in. I will say hgowever it was a mistake to remove the kiosks. I realize that older veterans may have troube with technology but those kiosks can be designed with ease of use in mind for EVERYONE. 4 STARS for LIMA VA

Been a client here for years. The providers and staff have always treated me with respect and worked patiently and pleasantly to iron out any problems. Dr. Soder and Dr. Brickner especially have been great to work with, affable and kind with appropriate focus on and genuine concern for a clients mental health and well-being.
I'm sorry for all the people who've had such poor experiences as I have found this to be one of the best facilities of it's kind with wonderful people.

I struggle with severe OCD and intrusive thoughts. My very caring psychiatrist, Angela Soder, is right by my side and helps me fight my battle with OCD day in and day out. I'd be so lost without her. Without her, I sometimes wonder if I would of given up and lost my battle some time ago. I like how she NEVER suggests the ER for my unless of course, I was serious with a plan and/or intent to hurt myself or others, which so far hasn't happened yet. Instead, she schedules me in for an appointment so we can talk about it. Any other psych provider I talk to doesn't even attempt to help me. They just say something along the lines of "You need to go to the ER and probably be admitted" how is locking me up with my thoughts supposed to help? She understands my thoughts are just thoughts and I just need someone to talk to when I feel a certain way. She understands that admitting me into the hospital isn't the answer, and will only make me feel worse. Anyway, I give Angela Soder 5 stars! She is awesome! Again, I'd be so lost without her! Brittany and Brandy at this office are also amazing! They're supportive and also don't suggest the ER when I call and talk to them.

I see a lot of people giving the FRC bad reviews and to them I say: you get what you pay for. They are a community funded center who help a lot of people who are down on their luck and need help. They offer a lot of free and cheap resources. I've been going off and on for five years and the staff there has been tremendously valuable in helping me through a lot of hard times. BrightView really supported my son through a tough time. I liked that they involved me too, not just him. The staff explained things clearly, and they had plans in place for after treatment. I just wish follow-ups were a bit more consistent. Still, I felt God's hand moving in that place.

Place is great. Awesome staff who truly care about you and others. Especially Kellie (Counselor), Devin (Counselor), Kody (Lead Group Facilitator) Gretchen (Counselor), Tevin (Counselor) Danae (alumni director), first shift nurses (Renee, Jenny, and others) Dr. Fabi, and plenty of techs too. Dave, Zada, Aaron, Cori, Jeremy, Carly, Skylar, and others. Last but not least Mike (program director), and Alaina (Clinical Director). These people truly care about you as a client and are there to help in any way even if it's just listen to you. Medmark is a great option for outpatient treatment in Dayton. There is often little to no wait time to dose, which compared to other clinics in the area, is a superior benefit.
The majority of counselors and other staff are a step above. They tend to be more understanding, compassionate, down to earth and helpful than their peers in the field who are employed elsewhere. They go above and beyond for clients, making time for emergencies, questions, and requests.
The program overall doesn't require an exceptional amount of the client's life, with just one group or one on one required per month.
The location is convenient to get to, but the area tends to be pretty ghetto with a lot of "riff raff" in the parking lot.

Really appreciated the treatment I received and all the The resources. The day nursing team and PCA’s were wonderful. The kitchen staff was very friendly. I felt like the team that I worked with genuinely cared about me.
The only frustrating thing was some of the staff on nights were very unfriendly, especially the PCA. I understand people have bad days at work, but there’s no excuse to treat people like their children, especially when they’re being cooperative. Once you’re there, you don’t have a choice to be there and it would help if those folks who were unfriendly would understand that they can choose not to come into work but, I can’t choose when I leave. That sort of treatment doesn’t help when you’re in there for depression and anxiety.
Besides that, I only have good things to say. That being said, I would like to thank everyone who helped take care of me while I was in the Willows pod. Deb, and Alicia you two are wonderful. Y’all helped me believe in humanity again by the way, you all treated me.
The PHP program is wonderful and Travis really cares about the people who he’s helping in the group.
You can get better. Don’t give up, never give up.

The psychiatrist we found is a gem, who shares her professional advice after listening to our experiences and concerns. Dr. Kaitlyn Pollack is professional, understanding and friendly.
However, finding a therapist that you trust and respect is a process, because you likely will have to try a few before finding the right person to help you. We went through six therapists in six months at the Xenia location, because they shuffled us from one to another regardless of the fact that my daughter was there for help with *separation anxiety*.

I've been a client on and off for multiple years for Substance Use Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder. I've always been pleased with the care I receive. I've participated in their IOP, PHP, After-care, individual therapy, and psychiatric programs. I've received medical help including the Vivitrol shot. The counselors are great (I've had at least seven different ones) and care about their clients. They are able to refer to higher levels of care if needed. They accept Caresource.
And, as always with mental health facilities, you usually get out of it what you put into it.

Super friendly and efficient. They don't make you jump through any unnecessary hoops and give the best care possible. I've stopped in on a few occasions for quick questions or last minute needs and they've done their best to accommodate. They are the gold standard of VA care.

On our most recent visit the ER treated my daughter with amazing care. They were quick and helped us onto the next phase for my daughter’s medical care. We were informed the entire time. Never left in the dark about what was going on.

Mercy Health is a small hospital and for years never heard much positive. Well I have had 2 weeks of amazing care for my mom who has been there. She is doing rehab in the swing bed unit. Each and every person that has taken care of her, has went out of their way to make moms stay there better. Even when she was a bit difficult to work with. Stubborn you may say. This hospital has not been given the credit they deserve. I just wanted to share my experience and to say thank you to each and every staff member who has helped mom! I need to also add how clean this place is!!!!
