Redwood School and Rehabilitation Center

Redwood School and Rehabilitation Center offers a host of support services for people with intellectual, physical or developmental disabilities. You can find them in southern Fort Mitchell, Kentucky right next to Children’s Home Fields. 

While they don’t directly treat addiction or chemical dependencies, their integrative and highly personalized treatment approach can be a huge source of support for anyone with complex rehab needs. The organization may be able to refer individuals to a location that offers intensive addiction recovery services.

They also have a program designed for veterans and their families. It helps them find employment, organize legal matters and work through PTSD and other mental health challenges. 

Support for People With Disabilities

Redwood is able to help children as young as six weeks old and senior adults entering retirement. This ensures lifelong support for anyone with a disability. 

Their program is tailored for every individual and can accommodate people with complex and concurrent diagnoses. For those with disabilities that affect their mobility, balance or strength, physical therapy can be a great way to maintain and build bodily control. 

Occupational therapy offers targeted support with completing daily tasks and activities. Their speech therapists help you communicate effectively with the world around you. 

Leaders Involved With CARF

The VP of Disability Operations at Redwood evaluates treatment centers for CARF. He has an active interest in developing support for people facing addiction or mental health setbacks, and is constantly working to add more avenues of support at Redwood.  

Through his influence, they even hosted a workshop that looked at the ways mental health and addiction affects people in the workplace. They discussed how to develop safe spaces for employees to seek quality, confidential support. They also spoke about creating a recovery mindset at work, making it possible for people to reclaim their productivity.
